We were recommended to come here for a traditional UK Sunday lunch by the people we rented our holiday cottage from. It did not disappoint. Lovely roast meal and very reasonably priced. Lovely view from the window onto the golf course. Nice people.

Fantastic selection of gluten free options. I had a gluten free lasagna for the first time in years. Followed by a gluten free chocolate fudge cake, delicious! I would highly recommend Castle Douglas golf club.

Had a lovely meal for 8 for a special birthday. Table was beautifully presented, staff were ever so accommodating and very friendly. Great value for money, and lovely setting.

We had an absolutely superb Christmas lunch. Food was some of the best we have had plentiful hot really tasty. Definitely recommend to friends

My husband and I went for a round of golf on a nice sunny day. The course was very well kept. The locals were very friendly and helpful and into a little chat. For us ‘flatlanders’ this course was challenging enough with some of the holes being kind of hilly. Really enjoyed playing there!

49-55 High StreetLast day of our holidays - went here for lunch with our small family. Food was flawless, and both members of waiting staff were superb. One of the highlights of our trip. Will certainly be back.

Goods Land,Being a dog owner we regularly use Google reviews to check if dogs are allowed in, especially when we are visiting an area for the first time. We therefore checked The Riverbank out and saw, in the Gemini generated summary as well as several reviews ( one 2 months ago) that it was dog friendly. On turning up earlier today we noted a 'no dogs' sign on the door so I popped upstairs to check....and apparently the answer is 'it depends!', ie whether busy, how they feel on the day. This is completely unhelpful to customers as it either is, or isn't and should be up front about this. If you let dogs in it will appear in your reviews! Anyway your loss and another cafes gain as there are other lovely dog friendly places in the town (Lime Bothy, Belted Galloway) so I'd suggest you take your business elsewhere if you have a dog.

Annan RoadJust had a lovely dinner and desert. Staying at motorhome sire next door so great location for users of the aire. Great value and lovely landlady.
