My second visit to this wee gem of a cafe on platform 2 of Dumfries Station. Super tasty hot bacon and cheese roll and a great americano coffee too. Highly recommend for sit in or takeaway.

One of those moments. A little early for the train south, horizontal rain. No time for a latte, except a takeaway – 'Too hot', said the charming Ethiopian photographer owner – but enough time for an espresso in a proper coffee cup with a minute or two to enjoy the steam engine posters and African wood carvings. What he produced were two cups of the best coffee in the British Isles. Ethiopian, the real thing, and worth travelling for. For those in the know, the Nith Valley is full of gems. Connoisseurs take the train!

Lovely selection of Scottish snacks - Square sausage and haggis! Clean friendly and not expensive. And I like good coffee- fantastic Macchiato made with knowledge and skill - not pressing a button:)

Just had lunch at Jinty-B's in Thornhill, Dumfriesshire. Gorgeously quirky, comics wallpapering the cafe, great home-made toasties & cake, hot tea & coffee & everything is immaculate. Perfect for family groups & very dog friendly.

After a great morning walking in the Galloway Forest, we called in at the CatStrand. Wow, what a gem of a place.its a gift shop with interesting books and art. But the best surprise is the cafe. Serving the best haggis and baked potato ever! We have called their butcher to buy more haggis. They have a nice selection of local beers to wash down a haggis lunch Also, check out their entertainment evenings. We will be back!

This cafe served the worst scone I have ever had / didn't have. (and that's saying something as I'm in my 70s and have had a few in my time. You could build a house with a few of them. Inedible expensive rubbish. It came in a paper bag, no plate and a wooden disposable knife which struggled to cut it. The coffee was served in a paper cup. But was drinkable. Cost over £13 for two coffees and two inedible scones. I am disgusted and will definitely won't be back
