Just had lunch at Jinty-B's in Thornhill, Dumfriesshire. Gorgeously quirky, comics wallpapering the cafe, great home-made toasties & cake, hot tea & coffee & everything is immaculate. Perfect for family groups & very dog friendly.

What a find! We were travelling down to Dalbeattie for the night and looking for somewhere to have lunch. We had decided against quite a few places and, as it was past 2 'o clock, we were getting hungry. We saw the colourful flags outside Jinty B's and stopped. We got such a genuinely warm and friendly welcome from Jinty and her friend and enjoyed the amusing decor while waiting for our meal. We didn't have to wait long for our delicious food - the best ever bacon brie & cranberry and fish sandwiches, both with a green salad and coleslaw. Followed up with a slice of very good gluten-free chocolate cake which miraculously didn't taste of cardboard! The place was spotless and I highly recommend it.! I watched other customers and everyone was equally happy. Lovely place!

We often stop off in Thornhill on our way to Ayrshire from North Yorkshire, and Jinty B’s is our usual cafe of choice. It is a clean and tidy wee cafe with a good selection of hot and cold meals and snacks; and they also have a fine choice of scones and cakes. This time we only wanted coffees which were very good - but very strong, and our request for some extra hot milk was dealt with in a very friendly manner - because service here is always top class!

I have travelled extensively in this area of Scotland and simply have not experienced a café that comes even close. Jinty Bs is set on a lovely High Street location in Thornhill town which has sufficient parking even outside the door of the café, if you are lucky The café is lovely inside with some quirky attention to detail touches. The toilet facilities are absolutely spotless and the layout in general within the café is very comfortable. Now the food WOW, everything is freshly made from the Breakfasts, Lunches, Soups and an extensive range of Paninis etc. They have a SPECIALS Board every day and it would be beyond me if you cant find something of your taste. The Coffee is quality served in lovely mugs or cups and the cake display is so tempting LOL. Janet herself is so attentive and welcoming and Liz the assistant supervisor and waitress has a wicked sense of humour and also being a local lady provides great advice to visitors of what the Town has to offer. I attended today with my Mother as a treat for Mothers Day and she thought it was just lovely. There was also a fellow called HAROLD who was a complete Character with a smile who I think maybe helps the staff within the Café . Just a brilliant wee place to go and enjoy lovely food and Coffee and you can PAY CASH which is so reassuring in this fast moving world that ceases to slow down. Till next time Kind Regards AlanJackson

Terrible service, followed up by uncalled for nastiness from owner when giving an honest review on Facebook. The thread got personal with attacks towards me, is disgusting way to behave and only shows how insecure and deluded and lacking in professionalism on the part of the owner. I would not recommend this place. Is rude, overpriced, poor wifi, and no I did not enjoy the experience, a cafe that won’t accept bank cards in this day and age is laughable.

What is there not to like about Jinty B's? We got a warm welcome from Haley and Megan, who were cheery, friendly, and helpful. We opted for a soup n sandwich combo, which was good value for money, and I followed it up with a fruit slice with my coffee. As we were on a local run out we asked Haley to recommend a walk after our meal. On her advice we went to Crawick Multiverse near Sanquhar and had a really interesting visit, the last time we'd been there was 6 years ago! We thoroughly recommend Jinty B's, which is just down from the Cross on the main road in Thornhill. Whilst not as evident as other cafes, it's well worth seeking out. One tip......don't ask Haley for her autograph as she won't sign on behalf of Scarlett Moffet!

My Mum and I visited this lovely wee café today for lunch. The two ladies who served us were wonderfully friendly and helpful, which only added to the appealing atmosphere. I had the toasted bagel with cream cheese and smoked ham. This was excellent and full of flavour. The portion size was large (small portions are offered) and it came with a fresh side salad and home-made coleslaw - the coleslaw was so good that we asked to buy some to take away, however, the owner generously gave us a large coffee cup full for free! I had a cappuccino with my meal and it was also superb, topped off with whipped milk and served with a small coffee biscuit. My Mum had a soup combo (sweet potato and tomato soup with an egg-Mayo roll) and a small pot of ginger and lemon tea. She loved it. We also bought some jam, shortbread, and a Rocky-Road cake - all excellent. Value for money, and a service with a smile, all in a quirky and spotlessly clean wee place. Perfect. We will hopefully be back soon.

Today we visited this tea room and we had a really lovely time. It was the first inside meal we have had since a bit before lockdown. There is a large hand Sanitizer on each table and both the ladies were super lovely and were very attentive seeing to you at your table - we were asked for our track and trace details within minutes. We also took our 5 month old and was able to fit the buggy around the table with us. I am coeliac (ie I require gluten free food) and was able to order a toasted panini - it was lovely and I felt in safe hands as when I asked queries they were either answered easily or thoroughly checked. I was also able to have a lemon roulade for dessert which I must say might be the nicest I have ever had! Thank you for making our first trip out easy and enjoyable - we were very grateful!

Went to Jinty-Bs. Awful experience! Only vegan thing on the menu was lentil soup. Soup was very salty in my opinion. Lovely waitress asked if “everything was OK?” I replied no the soup was too salty. Owner was not happy and asked the women on the next table if their soup was salty! Attempted to speak with her and say I had only answered a question and that I didn’t think it was appropriate to behave in that way. She was rude and confrontational! Worst lentil soup in Scotland. Although sandwiches that my friend’s had looked great and fresh, and the cafe was warm on a cold bank holiday!
