Forsyths of Peebles in Scottish Borders

Doesn't get any better. Scotch pies Rolls Macaroni cheese pies All bring back the memories of visiting my Nanny years ago. Best place ever!

Went to Forsythia to pick up BBQ and breakfast bits. Service was great really helpful and friendly and the meats didn't disappoint the Haggis was exceptional!

Instead of paying for overpriced food at any of the town's eateries (most are overrated and overpriced), stop at Forsyths and pick up a meal. Scones for breakfast, meat pies for lunch/picnic/supper, and a whole selection of goodies for deserts. Expect to stand in line. Their meringues are the best I've ever had anywhere. Their scones are notable. Their prices cheap. Do not miss this. This is the best thing about Peebles. all the locals know it.

Well it's been a while since crossing the Border and I was born in Scotland currently live in Yorkshire, we decided to have an overnight stay in Innerleithen at the Traquair Hotel, I asked for a recommendation for a Butcher and...Forsyths you did not let me down :) I bought square sausage, haggis, black pudding, ayreshire middle, bridies, steak pie (Sunday dinner), we have just had an all day breakfast and it was the best ever, we also called into the bakers I got the tattie scones, morning rolls, fruit scones etc, the service from both was warm, friendly, helpful, thank you so much and I will be back in the not too distant future, regards Violet Rowan.

This is both a baker’s shop and a butchers, and both are justifiably very popular. On this visit we used the butcher’s shop and stocked up on some uniquely Scottish staples - lasagna pies (fantastic) as well as macaroni cheese pies and bridies, both of which were very good. I also got a large tub of excellent potted beef before scurrying back across the border with our booty!

Whenever we visit Peebles two ot or three times a year we purchase roast joints and a selection of pies for futur use particularly the pork pies. We look forward to going back each time to replenish stocks.

Potted meat excellent ,as with their mutton pies ,pork pies And individual stk pies full of nice stk no fat Excellent service and butchers !

Bakery and butcher full of mouthwatering goodies! All meat is locally sourced and lovingly prepared.

Locally owned, friendly helpful service in both butchers and bakers. Excellent fresh meat, wide variety of cooked meats and pies. Wide range of breads from morning rolls to spelt loaf and fabulous cakes. Special mention to May for her regular service with a smile in the bakery.

You can always tell the good shops ,they are the ones with the queue out the door . It is well worth the wait as there are a superb range of breads ,cakes and traybakes ,what a great selection . I always like to see the bakers working away through the back , it is a guarantee that everything is fresh . We went away with a selection of cakes ,we were completely spoilt for choice . We were not disappointed when we got home .mmmmmm!
