An absolutely fantastic butchers, who fortunately also do overnight delivery. The sausages; the wave pies and family size steak pies are all delicious.

Brilliant staff , beautiful display , fresh cuts of lamb , pork and beef. Spoilt for choice. We ended up buying their pork sausages which were very tasty , leg of lamb which was delicious and 2 good slices of trying steak . The frying steak was very tender. The butcher didn't hurry us as we were making our choices.

Grierson Bros Butcher Castle Douglas Traditional butcher with a time stamp to boot. When you walk in it’s like you’re in 1975. I can almost picture the meat hanging on the hooks. Easy ordering and easy payment. We got sausage and burgers for our tea which looked great and tasted better. The burgers swelled up while the sausages stayed the same shape and size. Recommend, definitely Return again, absolutely

this butchers makes some of the best products in the country home made lasagne and steak pie are some of the best ive ever tasted the shop owner mr t Grierson gives value for money and 1st class faultless products

Never Reviewed a Butchers before, but this one Definately worth a Visit.. We took a Steak Pie, some Black Pudding and Sausages. but if I stayed in Castle Douglas I think I would be hard pushed to ever consider becoming Vegan with such an array of Totally home made Pies, Burgers and Meals on view.. Vet reasonable Too.

This butcher prepares a lot of meat based foods such as burgers kebabs and meat pies.The puff pastry on the pies is light and fluffy and there is plenty of meat in them.There are lots of variations on the burgers such as a pork burger with apple in it. The butcher also has mini beef wellingtons. We were spoilt for choice.

well we decided to try something different so we opted to try the beef wellington these were exceptionally good made fresh on the premises the other home made pies to try are the staggis witch is steak and haggis these are rather moreish every thing ths butcher makes is well worth trying great team great shop and a must stop shop in our food town also delivery avaliable and owned by a family dedicated to high quality delicious foods

Quality local meat. Knowledgeable advice. Wide range of cooked treats (bridies - the local pastime, lamb shank pies, haggis etc and at Christmas, their Christmas in a pie).

On the recommendation of a local lady in the shop I bought an individual Lamb shank pie which she said was to die for! It truly was delicious and I thank her for making my mind up after looking at the selection of fillings and not knowing which one to choose, my husband had the pulled Brisket which we really enjoyed. Sadly we have come home now but I know what I would have again if the occasion arose.

You will never leave empty handed, so much to choose from. Forget the supermarket chickens and try one of theirs straight of the rotisserie mmmm. Great bunch of staff and very well presented establishment.

It's great to shop here as there's always something different here. I've never been disappointed. The boys are so helpful and the deli section has a great choice too. Bbq time and this is a one stop shop. Amazing place!!!

We went into this shop on spec. Excellent variety of meats and all locally sourced as much as possible. What is nice is we chatted to the owner about where he sources from and settled on a beef rib which was huge and we'd never had before. Also helpful the butcher weighed the rib and gave us cooking instructions. We took a couple of slices of black pudding which is made in the shop for breakfast. If I stayed in Castle Douglas I'd make this a regular occasion over supermarket meat any day. I am now looking locally at home for a good butcher.

Amazing culinary offers inspiring you for meal times. Always fresh ideas beautifully presented. We buy for dinners when visiting the town and also stock up for home. Favourites are the stir-fries, curries and our new favourite the lamb shank pie.

We have been regular customer of Grieson's for past 6 years their meal is always first class a carnivores paradise.

If this butchers was close to home, we'd go every week. The meat all looks top quality and there are pies galore to satisfy everyone. The staff are very helpful and friendly and deserve the awards they proudly display. Excellent.

A great display of meats. Good range of cuts and prepared items. Went in for Haggis to take south of the border, came away with a bag full as so many things caught our eyes. Will be back again next time we're in the area, with a strategy for filling the campervan fridge!
