Just had a delicious roast beef sunday lunch here today. Large portion with plenty of vegetables…. And then a massive side portion of delicious cauliflower cheese. .. each! Very dog friendly and lovely staff. Totally recommend if you’re in the area.

Nice relaxed friendly hotel. First room was very small, should be a single room. Receptionist was very helpful. Showed us other available ungraded rooms & able to upgrade to a lovely spacious room for a great additional cost. Hotel very clean & rooms have good facilities, safe, iron, hairdryer, safe, fridge, luxury toiletries, wifi hit & miss but free. Lovely view. Beer garden, would have posed an issue if people were smoking as it was right under our window but luckily no smokers. Issue with hot water on first 2 days, took approx 20 mins to get hot water, gallons of water wasted trying to get water at temp that was OK to shower in. This was the case for all rooms (heard others at reception re this). Breakfast was good. Portions good & piping hot. Only issues were herb sausages not to our liking & choice of hot food Limited to cooked breakfast or veggie breakfast. No fish or omlettes etc. Bar prices are expensive & bar menu ridiculously expensive. £22 for half roast chicken (£44 for a chicken!!!) No wonder the bar was empty & we heard staff saying only 1 table booked for a meal. We ate out every night. Pool at hydro worth a visit. Staff all very friendly & helpful. Cakes are to die for!

This hotel is awful. It looks nothing like the website pictures. The whole place is rundown and filthy. On our first morning the waiter said there was a mix up with the food order and he thought he had some rice krispies somewhere but we're still waiting for them to arrive. There was then a greasy cooked breakfast plonked on a plate. When new residents arrived they were given wet towels for their room and the owner was very intimidating when they complained. Next morning at breakfast they were given the same excuse as us about the lack of breakfast foodstuffs. Don't know how this place is still open. Avoid at all costs.

The room was clean and warm but there is no check in staff and the lady I spoke to on the phone to check in was impossible to understand.. there is literature around the hotel stating they serve breakfast but they don't and seeing as that there is no where in Selkirk that does early in the morning that was a problem

Here is a traditional pub on Peebles High Street. Inside there a few nooks and crannies and a separate area called the library. There a number of options for sitting - either on stools, comfy chairs or sofas. The upholstery is a bit jaded/frayed on a few chairs/stools. There are a fair number of TV screens for sports fans. On our visit they were all showing past games and were on mute and music was being played. There is a good selection of draught beers and a menu offering a range of eating options. We had lunch (Hunters' Chicken and Scampi) and found both were good, standard pub grub and well priced. Service was good and friendly though it felt like I waited longer for my dessert than my main!

Checked the sign on the door early in the day that clearly stated dinner was served on Sunday between 5pm and 7pm - we double checked this online. However, when we turned up at 6.30pm the place was empty and we were told they were closed. This is not the first time we have tried to eat here and been disappointed. Update your information, and make sure it’s accurate.

We had a lovely dinner here. the food was very good and the staff were very friendly and chatty. It is a lovely restaurant and well furnished. They were very busy with a function but they did warn us at the beginning and the wait wasn't too bad.
