Overworked waitress. “All day menu” unavailable ….all gone at 1pm. My choice from the main menu turned out to be the worst Mac and Cheese ever. Inedible. Swimming in grease. After a dispute at the till, the cost of the meal (which was left uneaten) was dropped and I only paid for my pot of tea. “Well you got your free WiFi…..” was the waitress’ parting shot. This used to be a good cafe, back in the day. There are many good local alternatives. Avoid this one.

Arrived here at 11.30 on Monday 11th September after travelling from Cumbria for a 3 day break in Peebles. We were both very hungry as we didn't have breakfast before leaving home some 3 hours earlier we decided to eat here, both had cooked breakfast which was delicious, hot & filling with toast & drinks very reasonable priced too. Only disappointment was that they didn't have any pancakes which I'd been looking forward to trying but we still both left satisfied with the food we had

Popped in for takeaway. Eventually served by flapping untrained staff member. Overpriced microwaved scone was a disappointment and the ‘butter’ I had to ask for was margarine or some other type of cheap spread scooped from a container into a paper pot which melted all over the bag. Will definitely give this a miss in future.

Visited for breakfast with my partner and we both had a full cooked breakfast, very good value for money - huge portion with all the trimmings you’d want, plus lots of toast and butter - excellent! I had a strawberry milkshake, which also went down a treat. Staff were friendly and efficient, food arrived quickly, everything felt very clean and tidy. Although neither of us have any dietary requirements, I was impressed by how accommodating their menu was for people who might. Will be back again soon for lunch.

Good food, bad vibe.We had some lovely omelettes here, but from the start this looked like a generally an unhappy bunch of staff. Seems like someone is running the show and does not allow for fun or engagement from their colleagues, which rubs off on the customer experience and service. Was frustrated in social distancing times to be sat right next to the only other people in the cafe, and it wasn’t because all the other tables were reserved. Might give it another go on next visit and see if atmosphere has improved.

Good restaurant and takeaway. And my goodness the cupcake I had from there the other day was amazing as was the bacon and sausage roll my daughter had. Their home made soups are lovely too and me they're owned by Della's (High Street Peebles) you should try their carrot cake - best tasting one ever. Read the 1 star review and couldn't help but agree with all the points in the restaurant's response - although my husband does think it was a bit blunt. So I reckon it was probably written in the moment the review was stingingPersonally I am pleased they give me the opportunity to manage the card reader myself and although haven't seen the glass bottles think it's a brilliant idea - I get glass bottles delivered for exactly the same reason. Keep up the good food Ramblers!

A real compliment to the Peebles Main Street. Staff are friendly, management are great, a very safe environment for everything that is going on at the moment. Anyway, with it being a review about a cafe you cannot not talk about the food.... OMG WOW!! Artur and the team know how to put out some good homecooked food, the food is so good I travel from West Lothian most weekends to get lunch here. Coronation chicken baguettes... this is all I need to say!!!

Flustered disorganised staff allowed us to stand in a queue and avoided making eye contact. No greeting, just ignored. Eventually told they would have to clean tables which we accepted. After waiting a further 10 minutes with no eye contact I asked if they actually had a table for three and was told ‘no’. Terrible way to treat customers. Went to Cross Keys instead. After reading positive reviews we headed for this place for lunch. It was really disappointing. The coffee was good but the sandwiches did not impress. The filling on the tuna sandwich was not generous but the real disappointment was the coronation chicken. It had absolutely no flavour and I’d recommend avoiding it. We have visited here previously for lunch and been more than happy! However,on this occasion we were less than impressed.I ordered a latte, which was ,when it arrived,a bit of a shock. It was the smallest meanest latte I have ever been served anywhere! It was so small I finished it in less than two minutes! This could also been due to it being lukewarm, although I do appreciate some places serve coffee at lower temperatures. The fruit slice we shared was also slightly small, but this would have been less of an issue, had it not cost an eyewatering £2.45! There would have been no point complaining because there was nothing wrong with the quality, just poor value for money.

I took my mother here for our first visit for breakfast this morning. The food was fantastic and the service from the young staff members was great, a credit to the business. Unfortunately half way through, the manager came in and in front of a room full of customers started lecturing the staff about customer reviews and ratings. The whole room was looking in disgust. The manager obviously didn’t notice as she kept on her very loud lecture for at least 5 minutes. In future maybe taking the staff somewhere private to talk to the staff about ‘customer service’ would be more effective in not bringing the service and atmosphere down.

This was my usual haunt with chums after a nice walk around the beautiful town of Peebles for a long time but I feel we won't be back as service and the offerings have slipped substantially in the last while. On another note I certainly do not want to see staff sitting on tables doing makeup when there are paying customers waiting on their orders.. Time to pull your socks up Ramblers, such a shame as great potential, until then we won't be back..

The 3 women working in the cafe were really glum, and the one who served us hardly noted our existence, despite us being friendly. Although the drinks and scones were fine, we felt very uncomfortable in such a miserable environment.

My daughter (16yr old) and I took a speedy lunch here before moving across the road to attend a Make Your Own Chocolate Truffle class in Ruth Hinks Chocolate and Pastry School. Excellent sandwiches, good soup and scones and prompt and polite staff. I would go back.

I took my mum to Peebles for Mother’s Day! We were lucky there was space in Ramblers! The staff are lovely and the menu is reasonably priced! We both had baked potatoes which were huge! And the pot of tea was a generous size!

I absolutely love Ramblers Coffee Shop in Peebles. Food is always first class and the bread for the sandwiches is so thick, not like some cafe sandwiches where the bread is so thin! All the cakes and tray bakes are homemade and are always a lovely treat!

My husband and I regularly visit Ramblers as it is such a friendly place where excellent home-made snacks and meals are made to order. Over many years we have continued to visit and enjoy the delicious selection of meals, home baking, real coffee and tasty fruit smoothies etc. Long may this continue. It is so refreshing to be greeted and fed by such lovely staff.

My friends and I went into this lovely wee cafe while visiting Peebles and certainly weren’t disappointed in our lunch. When we return to Peebles would definitely return.

Sadly now seem to be closed. Unfortunately the Main Street of Jedburgh offers nothing in the way of dog friendly cafes... the only town in our trip across central Scotland to have that issue.

Stayed here for one night, over the festive period, as part of a large group. Firstly, I'd like to say that the staff were exceptional. Through the whole process - from booking to breakfast - the team were super helpful, accomodating, and friendly. The food: I felt this was incredibly expensive. Although delicious, the portion sizes were quite small, and so I didn't really feel it was good value for money. I also felt that the vegetables (sprouts, carrots) were a bit undercooked. However, a plus side was that they provided extra sides, shared out between the tables (Yorkshire puddings, gravy, veg etc). The room: I felt the rooms were pleasant and comfortable. They could maybe do with modernising, but they had everything we needed, and so we were pleased. The downside to the rooms was that the noise from the corridor was very loud. Whenever someone walked past, the entire floor would shake, which in turn shook the bed. The noise and the vibrations woke me maybe half a dozen times during the night, which wasn't ideal. Breakfast: A lovely choice available, from the standard continental options (cereal, fruit, yoghurt), to cooked options. The service felt a bit chaotic, but I guess that's to be expected when things are very busy. But the staff were still super helpful and lovely.

Lovely spot in Kelso centre. We looked around for somewhere which catered for gluten free and were struggling a little so when we managed to get a table here we were delighted. Bao buns starter was amazing for £6 and almost like a main course! Fish and chips were a delight too. GF soup and then burger were great and really tasty. Drinks were really good value as was the really tasty kids meal. All in a great place, great customer service and a lovely atmosphere.
