Lovely. Little family owned hotel in centre of town Good size room with ensuite shower. Very clean, warm with very good coffee and tea and cookies. Breakfast were excellent and the restaurant offers wide range of evening meals. Owners and staff are superb, cheery and very very helpful. We ended up going to the chippy and eating in the car as the restaurant and hotel seemed very shut. Innerleithen is nice but places to eat are at a premium, an Indian restaurant a few doors away and the Traquair Arms - best to book.

They went above and beyond, we turned up late at 11.30pm due to flooding and roads being closed and Patrick stayed awake to let us in and then even offered us food (although we didn’t accept!) Lovely bedroom, everything you need. Even tasty biscuits. Maybe bring a fire stick as TV only has basic channels. It was my partners birthday and they did everything they could to make it special. Even a candlelit breakfast. Super close for mountain biking so we will definitely stay here again. Right in the centre of town so 10/10 location. Thanks very much for the great weekend.

Wow, what can I say! My husband, myself and my four year old daughter stayed here for a couple of nights as we were up in the area for our close friends wedding. This is exactly what you would call a home from home. We instantly felt at home and loved the welcoming feeling. Our daughter just wanted to go downstairs and spend time with “the ladies”. The rooms were comfortable and clean, breakfast was yummy and “the ladies”literally couldn’t do anymore to help. We honestly felt very sad leaving and we just want to come back again. Innerleithen is a wonderful place to say and we can honestly say that everyone we passed said hello and or stopped to talk to us. We loved every moment in this spectacularly beautiful spot!

Had a superb stay here for a biking weekend with the lads. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The covid precautions at this time were exceptional. Well impressed. Rooms were good Chinese food was amazing. Jade was an amazing waitress she was really helpful, remembered our drinks orders and was a real asset to the hotel. Defo be back

I stayed here on the recommendation of a friend, and found it to be exactly what it says on the tin, a 3 star hotel. The website says you can check in from 2, we arrived at 3.30 to find the door locked, and the place in darkness. We duly called the number that was displayed in the window and got voicemail... To kill time we went for a walk up the High Street, and had a cuppa before heading back to the hotel, which was now open (no call back to advise). We were checked in by the super friendly staff, given details of service, breakfast timings, wifi, the car park, and other useful nuggets before being shown to our room. The room was fine and the bedding/en-suite were clean, though the floor could have done with a sweep. We met friends in the bar and had a couple of drinks, though a few people commented that the beer tasted funny... After a night out and a decent night's sleep we went down for breakfast. Lok if required. All tasty, freshly cooked, and promptly served. After breakfast we checked out, the bill was accurate and the process was simple, so no problems there. All in all the staff were friendly, but there were a a couple of little things that let it down.

Upon moving to innerlithen over 8 months ago and tried here usually on a Tuesday and the other Chinese is closed so think I will give the corner house a try and I'm always so disappointed in the food no flavour at all crispy shredded beef that was completely soggy full of vegetables way over done sauce have no flavour made me question if the sauce was even what they said it was over all staff seem nice but I have be stung to many times and wont be going back !

Blanked by staff Asked for a menu - we’re very busy you might have a wait- fair enough we’re not in a rush. 30 minutes later, order not taken - went to bar - I’ll be with you shortly. 10 minutes later - different “waitress” - you want to order? We’re very busy. Goodbye.

So, arrived in Innerleithen having never been in the village before. Happened upon The Corner House Hotel and decided to go in for a drink with the possible option of food. Stood at the bar for 10 minutes and was ignored completely by staff. Eventually the young bar lady acknowledged my presence advising that she’d be back to serve me soon. Young waitress looked lost. After a further 5 minutes we were served. I asked for menus to be told that “they were busy” I said we don’t mind the wait. A further 20 minutes went by and eventually I returned to the bar to request the menus. 40 mins later our order had not been taken despite several requests. A final request to the young waitress “can you please take our order” to which she responded “we are very busy” At this point we left and went to the Trequair Arms where we had a lovely meal in double quick time. So if you’re in Innerleithen forget going to this place the service is non existent.

Ordered our Chinese takeaway from here then you pop next door to the bar and wait for your food to be delivered, fantastic.

Heard about the corner house so gave it a try. Very pleasant staff good food and not badly priced. Portions could have a bit larger for 5 stars. We will have a return visit.

Myself and 2 friends, had the great pleasure of staying at the Corner House for 1 night, while on a bike ride to Edinburgh. We received a very warm welcome on our arrival. The rooms were extremely comfortable, modern and clean. We had a delicious meal and a few good beers. The breakfast was excellent too. The main reason why our stay was so good, was without doubt, the staff. Every single person was extremely polite, cheerful and helpful. I was getting sponsored on my ride, for a local charity and one of the staff , Linda, very kindly wavered my room bill (£37.50) and donated it to the charity, I couldn't believe her generosity. We even had a few of the staff, wave us off , as we set off over the "wee hill" , for our final leg into Edinburgh. I Would highly recommend the Corner House.

Lovely little hotel with a friendly welcoming atmosphere whether you are there for coffee or dinner. Food is freshly cooked and the Chinese meals on the menu are yummy.. the bar is small but dog friendly. I always enjoy my visits to the corner house hotel.

As the title says we are lucky to have such a hotel locally with.the mixture of British and Chinese food cooked to a high standard.The staff are friendly and efficient and Helen is a one off..

We had dinner here as a group of 6 and were treated wonderfully by the staff. It was a busy night and they squeezed us in which was great. The steak and ale pie was reportedly delicious, as were the Japanese udon noodles, but the fish and chips were a little disappointing.

Went here just recently Myself & the Mr and were not disappointed at all from Helen a member of staff her service was outstanding from start to finish thank u again nothing was to much trouble at all constantly smiling & her banter brilliant made our night even more enjoyable from drinks at the bar to seating & serving us at our table she was fabulous. Very comfy cosy friendly setting with a choice of Traditional or Chinese food on the menu which is without a doubt very tasty,big portions & reasonably priced will definitely be returning very soon & as visitors we would 100% recmmend the Corner House is well worth popping into for a bite to eat

Didn't go here for food but ended up having some anyway. Really busy wee pub / restaurant. The staff are nice - especially Jade who really made our visit with her lovely smile and friendly helpful manner. The food was good too - hot and tasty. Would recommend a visit if you get the chance.

Stayed here at the end of Berwick to Innerleithen cycle following the Coast and Castles route.

Only gave 2nd star as the staff were lovley but the food was not. Kids liked theirs but kids will eat most things. Fish was bland and tasteless...tasted frozen...the chips were awful there was zero taste to them and just beyond bland. My husbands sauce was meant to be pepercorn was more cheese there was zero peppercorn taste. Not good at all and for the price too was awful. Will not be back!

We booked a table for 3 here on a busy Saturday night, on our return we were asked could we sit in the bar area and have our meal as they needed to use our table for a young family who could not sit in the bar. We agreed as we had no problems with that, meal was lovely and well priced, staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks

Went to the Corner House Hotel for a celebration with my friends . We had starters ,main meals and sweets and it was very well priced. The best thing is you can have British food or Chinese on the menu. Patrick ,Linda and Nichola run there hotel with passion and quality. Would recommend it to anyone!

Visited here on a weekend of mountain bike riding. Great place food was super really tasty. Had chicken with haggis and spicy chips really nice. Would defo recommend a visit.

Stayed three nights the staff were excellent couldn't do enough for us,carrying our bags,taking the snow off the car definitely above and beyond.we had good laugh with Linda and Helen,the food was good and the porridge excellent.most important the rooms spotless whole hotel very clean

Booked at short notice on Saturday night. Nice, clean and very friendly restaurant. Menu is half Scottish fayre, half Chinese and is pretty unique. Had good spare ribs and an excellent crispy beef. Wife's chicken fried rice was good and the portion was huge. Daughter fish goujons were fine. Staff fussed over all the children and were really welcoming. Nice desserts too.

Just returned from a great stay here very warm welcome and the place is spotless.Food is very good and the choices are amazing have stayed here quite a few times and wouldn't go any were else.Patrick Linda Helen and Karen are all lovely people even the young girls working in the bar and restaurant are very good and so polite nothing is to much trouble for any of them they really go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable.Thank you so much Ken Lynn and the Lakey gang ☺

Having come here with my friend who lives in the town, on a night where everywhere else seemed to be full, for a Friday night it was quiet, my friend had told me that while the takeaway was awful and was to be avoided, the food in the main hotel was better so I ordered the Chicken curry, it was a overly spicy bowl of rubber chicken and veg which was near enough burnt with rice that you could tell had been in a rice cooker all day, my friend however got the chicken and haggis and said it was wonderful, not sure whither it is the Chinese side of the menu which needs to be avoided or what, however it is clearly not a pleasant place to work we were sat on a table in the corner by the window fairly close to the entrance to the kitchen and from there we could hear the shouts of what we could only imagine as being the chef, was insane how when the young staff, when we were there it was a young girl and a man in his 20s they would both run in as if it was the 100m sprint followed by more shouting, however the manageress was no better appeared to be rather rude as when I caught her walking past and made 'the gesture for the bill' she continued to walk to the bar. I had to walk to the bar and ask the barmaid for the bill as after that she was no where to be seen, safe to say we did not stay for anymore drinks.

Having booked into another hotel for the night I decided to eat here. A very good choice with the option of different types of food. I had the spring rolls and then haddock and chips together with a couple of pints.

Good food and drink on the corner of the Main Street in Innerleithen, hence the name Corner House. Friendly, welcoming staff. I have stayed in the Hotel but if the cleanliness and attention to detail is the same as bar and restuarant it will be a winner.

Ate here today and had a really good meal. Lots of choice and they will cater to suit your requests. The bar lady was absolutely lovely and couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful!

Came through whilst on a bike ride up to Edinburgh. I had the gammon and it was boss! I had the cheesecake to... which was also boss! Excellent staff too. Recommended!

My sons and colleagues stayed here overnight before a fishing trip with Tweed guides. Excellent accommodation. This family run business provide that renowned Scottish welcome of companionship friendship and good fare. The bar staff were great and friendly. Great hearty breakfast. A place not to be missed when in the borders.

Small bar on the corner of Church Street and High Street. Good Chinese food served in the small restaurant towards the rear and small bar where you enjoy a quiet drink. Staff very friendly

We arrived cold and wet having cycled for 25 mile in the rain and wind to arrive here at lunchtime. In no time our wet clothes were in a dryer while we were served pots of tea, coffee and bowls of steaming hot soup followed by desserts. Our host could not have been more sympathetic and understanding and she did all she could to brighten us up on a horrible day. We left full, warm and happy. Thank you so much!

We visited with my gluten free, diabetic, non-exotic eating father. The staff were lovely, and very obliging. They swapped chips for mash, humoured my son's request for milk and generally made us extremely welcome. We had gammon, and 3 meals from the Chinese menu plus a kids sausage and chips (mash). Other reviews suggest the menu is predominantly chinese, it's about 50/50 and the non chinese options seem varied and good quality. Chinese menu is very good and tasty and has good variety.We'll definitely be back. One of the most relaxing multi generational family meals for quite some time. Thank you.

Ten of us and three dogs popped in for a meal after walking a section of the SUW, we were made VERY welcome as were the dogs who understandably were not allowed in the restuarant but were accommodated just outside undet a large umbrella. The food was excellent, well presented, freshly made and nice and hot, with a very varied choice. The staff were friendly and efficient. The restuarant isn't five star but is more than acceptable, would definitely recommend if in the area.

We booked into a different hotel in Innerleithen, but they had double booked us and arranged for our stay to be with The Corner House Hotel instead. I was apprehensive at first but pleased the move had been arranged! On arrival the hotel was busy with the lunchtime rush, but staff were pleasant and welcoming, regardless of being so busy. We were checked in quickly and informed of the various arrangements for lunch/dinner/breakfast, and thankfully, advised that booking for our evening meal was advisable! Our room was a twin, basic facilities but everything we needed. Free wifi, tea/coffee etc in the room. Very clean and comfortable. Extra coffee, soaps and all the shower gels etc were available on request without hesitation. Now the food! The night we stayed, the hotel was busy with dinner bookings. The quality and standard of food is of such a high standard! Quick service, quality food, served and presented to a very high standard and absolutely delicious! Breakfast was the same! *One suggestion, tiny that it is, maybe a radio or some music for the breakfast area? Felt it was just a touch too quiet! Or maybe that's just me!*We didn't visit the bar as our visit to Innerleithen was to a friends engagement party, so we didn't socialise within the hotel. But it was busy on the Saturday evening we were there. Both with the bar but also with the Chinese take away which the hotel provide! The Lounge bar was decorated bright and modern and seemed to serve a good variety of drinks.The friendly and personal service we received during our stay was wonderful. Every member of staff was helpful and efficient. Obviously this is a quality expected by the owners/management and seems to be held by all the team. Nothing seemed too much of a problem. We had a lovely stay at the corner house hotel and I intend to visit again. My husband and I only live 40 minutes away, so I would happily drive to come for a meal. Highly recommend this cute little hotel and will most certainly come back!!

We had been recommended the Corner House so booked a table. The exterior looks like an old traditional pub however the interior was fresh, clean and comfortable. The menu was a mix of fresh fish, traditional pub food and Chinese! When we asked about the Chinese connection, we learned the Chinese chef cooked for the pub and the take away next door and it was a shared kitchen. We had a combination of Chinese and I had Cajun Chicken. The meals were well presented, fresh and definitely home made. We were very impressed. The bar/ waitress was very friendly and made us very welcome. Recommended.

Popped in for the beer garden and stayed for food. All decent quality and the portion sizes were good, no complaints.

This place is very VERY POOR I WOULD NEVER RECOMEND. to any body very very predendsive it's a place if you look like. You have money they are all over you but if not they ignore you its rather pathetic the chef is the owners husband and he can be good at certain food. But it's way over the top and not worth the money. Do what tge locals do Avoid

The corner house is a Chinese restaurant / take away as well as a Hotel. We went for food, so cannot comment on the Hotel. We went during the Xmas / New Year break for a takeaway one of the evenings, placed our order and were ushered to the open fire to keep warm while we waited for our food to be cooked. The waitress was really friendly and every few minutes came over to chat. Not what we expected of a takeway but very welcome. The food was excellent, especially recommend the House Special Chow Mein and the Chicken Curry. We passed by on New Years Eve at about 9.30pm and the place was about to shut, as the staff were all going out for the evening - hence the comment re. odd hours. Highly recommended for the food

Stumbled across this with my mum on the way up to the Highlands. Such a sweet place; bar, takeout, chinese and all round yummy food place, and a hotel. We had the creamy bacon,chicken and spring onion pasta so good! Couldn't even fit in a pud. Great service especially the lovely women running the bar and restaurant felt like we were regulars the way she treated us. A definate stop next time we're on our next road trip up this way!

This is a pleasant family run hotel and you always recieve a warm friendly welcome . The food is always well prepared and delicious and well worth a visit .

A group of 4 of us had real homemade steak pie, fab chicken stuffed with haggis and Chinese main meals All were delicious and at great prices

This is quite a cute restaurant but not sure if everything is homemade as the food didn't look freshy made but it did taste ok I think they will need to improve as there's quite alot of café's in I Innerleithen to choose from but it is resonably priced

A wee gem of a place offering a diverse range of english and chinese dishes. A very warm welcome, excellent food, great service and great value for money.

Two stars is me being generous here, we got our seat, were given menus... And then ignored for a while. We had to try and catch the staffs attention so we could just get our drinks, and place our orders. The starter was the breaded bree, which must have been a bag of frozen blocks, it wasn't melted in the middle either. The main course, we had something from the Chinese menu, which I was reluctant to do because last time I'd had Chinese food from the take out it was the absolute worst. BUT the main was actually very nice (hence the two stars) the staff seemed to be minimal and not up to scratch. And the layout of the tables annoyed me, they could utilise the space by straightening it all out instead of having them slanted and in the way. unfortunately the desert was awful as well. I ordered a toffee crunch sundae which I thought sounded nice. It was however just cheap nasty yellow vanilla ice cream with a bit of toffee sauce drizzled around it and a dollop of Squirty cream... Probably cost 0.80 pence to make. I think I'll avoid the restaurant and try the take out only. Not impressed.

Good simple filling food served by very friendly staff at a good price. Highly recommended! I had the belly pork - my partner had the sea bass. Both really good.

Called for a Chinese. No menu online so asked for crispy beef as felt this was a standard dish. The lady asked what I would like it with. I asked for noodles and she became quite rude saying 'no I'm still trying to sort out what sauce you want with the beef?'I asked my options, to which she replied 'You want me to read you the menu and be here all night?'.Asked to cancel and she hung up on me. Unsatisfactory service for a takeaway.

We first entered the bar looking for accommodation. Unfortunately they were full but the very helpful staff made us decide to return for dinner once accommodation was found. We were not disappointed. The Asian chef offers several Chinese dishes but we stuck to the Scottish fare as we were headed to England next day. While the waitress (also bartender) was a bit rushed off her feet, the service was very cordial and we didn't mind the short wait for food. Having checked out other eating establishments, we were well satisfied with our choice.

Having experienced a worse than zero approach to customer service in a (very) nearby café we opted for the Corner House Hotel restaurant for a snack style lunch. We had special requirements with regard to seating arrangements and our lovely hostess made it all happen for us instantly .The menu has masses of choices being both a Chinese restaurant and a conventional one. Our two Panini eaters raved about their dishes as did our two Chicken Curry Warm Baguette eaters. The salads on the plates were fresh, crispy, flavoursome and had a touch of the orient in them.Service was lovely and our hostess (and chef who appeared a couple of times) warmly engaged with locals and visitors alike.Spotlessly clean, simple décor.This place does not shout "come in" from the street - but if you go to Innerleithen - "go in".

Having just walked off the street we were all welcomed with a big smile from staff. Food was absolutely delicious and freshly made. Decor was also gorgeous and the female member of staff even took time out to blether to us which made us feel very welcome. We will definitely return.

Thoroughly recommended! Lovely and varied menu (the owner also owns the Chinese takeaway next door so Chinese food is included on the menu. Food was delicious, freshly cooked and the staff just made our evening. All had a great sense of humour and we enjoyed a good laugh as well as excellent food. A small 'doggy bag' was given to us when we left because they knew we had a dog back at our hotel. Nice touch....and we'll be back!

We met up with family and had a great meal. We ate from the Chinese selection. All of this was excellent and I would describe it as home cooking. Simply presented and very tasty. We shared the dishes and enjoyed spare ribs, duck in wraps, lemon chicken ( a pretty tart sauce) crispy beef , sweet and sour chicken and vegetables. All simply cooked and presented. The staff were very friendly and attentive and enjoyed a laugh. Just as well ; as we were pretty loud. All good.

If in Innerleithen and fancy a great meal the Corner house is worth a visit. Friendly owners and staff. Food was wonderful. There was four of us last Sunday and we all enjoyed our food. Prices were very fair too. Lovely and clean...spotless linen.

We were visiting Innerleithen on a sunny Easter Saturday and all the eateries were pretty packed, though not very vegan friendly. We went into the recently refurbished Corner House Hotel & found a hybrid menu serving pub food and Chinese dishes under one roof. We had two friendly waitresses take our orders and I opted for a bacon roll (£1.60), curly fries (£2.30) & spicy chicken wings (£4) as a combo. The dishes on the menu had little complexity to them and although all were cooked well, had nothing added to them to make them hit the next star level. My lemonade arrived at the table, the bubbles had already left the building and it felt very syrupy and sincerely lacked fizz. There was a diversity of diners inc. an older party having fish and chips before heading to a local performance of Anything Goes and a few families too.It's really good value as we both had our stomachs filled and quenched for a grand total of £15.60. It's simple food that fills - no more, no less.

I visit Inneleithen on a regular basis and all thought the other eateries I the town are not realy great this is bye the worst The soup was called Scotch broth I shoud have been called Barley broth as their was more barley than any thing else my two companions has deep fried Brie which was okTwo of us had lamb all. Can say is it was definitely not Borders LambMy two friends who live locally have said the will not be back I am looking forward to my next visit when we ill try the local Indian which gets a good name

We received a lovely warm welcome to this restaurant and good service throughout our visit. There is a wide choice with a mix of Scottish, traditional and Chinese dishes. We had a three Chinese dishes and one steak pie. All were served piping hot, were generous portions and very tasty. There are some special daily dishes also available but we were pleased with our choices! There was a range of sweets also on offer and these were also delicious. A very good meal at reasonable prices so great value overall. You may wish to book ahead.

We visited here on Christmas Eve whilst on holiday in Innerleithen. The menu is a mixture of British and Chinese dishes - between the 4 of us we had a mix of both menus. All dishes were absolutely delicious and very generous portions. The 2 ladies serving were very friendly and helpful and we would recommend this lovely little restaurant to anybody.

My husband had a Chinese takeaway from here on a recent trip to Innerleithen. He had the crispy beef in chilli sauce with boiled rice and noodles. He also got some prawn crackers thrown in for free. The total bill was £10.50. The beef for my husband was tasty, well cooked with lots of vegetables. The restaurant itself has recently been renovated and is clean and affordable. Part chinese takeaway, part restaurant, part hotel. Quite a good choice of menu. I had not realised it was a chinese takeaway, and ordered a pasta dish. My partner had king prawn chow mein which he said was the best he'd ever had. I had penne with meatballs which was OK - but his chow mein looked much nicer!

Good choice of food with mix of chinese and european dishes everyone in my group enjoyed their meals and the prices are quite reasonable the staff are efficient and pleasant what more do you want

Were staying in Innerleithen and walked past during the afternoon, looked in through the windows and were uninspired, looked at other places and decided on eating at the Indian restaurant further up the street when we came out later. On going out to eat we went to the Indian and saw that it was empty, (not a good sign) we then walked past another couple of eateries again empty. We arrived at the Corner House and saw others eating, lights and candles on the tables, it looked inviting so we went in. What a good decision, the greeting was warm, friendly and welcoming. The menu was reasonably priced and not extensive, it was explained that all dishes were cooked to order so it would take a little while for the food to arrive, (well worth the wait, which wasn’t too long). The food was plentiful, well prepared and hot, plates had been warmed (another good sign in our book). The meal was very good, and with the great interaction of the staff it made for a memorable evening. We can only comment on the restaurant as we did not stay in the Hotel. We will be going either for a meal or to stay in the Hotel, I would recommend the restaurant, it just goes to show that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover.

I've only used the bar and restaurant in the Corner House. The bar is small but has a good range of beer and lager. The staff are really what make it, friendly, knowledgeable and, glory of glory, the serve the lager in the trademark glasses. The restaurant used to be okay but nothing special, now I think it has really improved. The Chinese food is excellent and the European stuff is also good.i'd go for the Chinese!

Found this restaurant by accident. Walked in and the host welcomed us like we had been regulars for years. Very neat and tidy with an excellent selection of both traditional Scottish and Chinese fare. Wine was pretty good too! Good sized portions with lots of flavour, couldn't ask for better and well above the standards we have been served in"posh" hotels and restaurants.The staff were great and interacted if you wished or gave you your space if that was your preference. We fully intend going back and will stay in the hotel too.TREMENDOUS
