Amber Chinese Food in Scottish Borders

I phoned for a family meal I was asked to pick up 20 minutes later. Food was ready on time and we had mixed starter, king prawn curry, salt and chilli chips and shredded chilli beef. All dishes were delicious and very impressed indeed.

It was good in the past not any more. Horrible dry chicken and tasteless sauce. No redeeming features in any of the four dishes bought. £20 pus down the drain in times when we are all counting the pennies. Most of the meal ended up in the bin. Will certainly not be back that's for sure.

Food took ages to arrive but was lovely, very clean and fresh. All items ordered were delivered and was very good value for money.

We’ve been using this takeaway regularly for months and was usually very good and have previously recommended to friends. However, not any longer! The past two takeaways have ended up in the bin. Tonight’s offerings were disgusting....even the dogs wouldn’t eat it. Inedible poor quality food. Special fried rice consisted of soggy overcooked rice, 3 shrimps, 2 slices of rubbery overcooked pork and 2 slices of dried out chicken topped with a greasy fried egg?? Went straight in the bin as it was inedible. What on earth has happened to a once fantastic Chinese takeaway - change of chef perhaps?? We will not order here again, what a complete waste of money. Absolutely disgusting food.

Our usual Chinese takeaway was closed for holidays so decided to use this instead. We ordered and due to it being a busy Friday evening were advised the food would take around 45 minutes to be delivered. The food arrived and it was piping hot with good sized portions. Have to say it was absolutely delicious - so much so we will be using this Chinese takeaway from now on instead of our usual!!! Very impressed and would most definitely recommend you try!

Best Chinese carry out in the Borders by a long way. Great value and we have never had a bad one and use it at least two Friday evenings every month.

To be fair the food was good, eventually, waiting time wasn't....1hr....was a busy night, but shouldn't you be informed of this before you paid? so you have the choice whether to wait? ...also only living 5 mins away why do I have to re-heat when I get home?

Amber Chinese is a lovely place to get takeaways from, I'm usually in & out in 20 minutes The food is delicious, staff are very easy to talk to I would recommend it to anyone

Congealed gloop an hour late and duck and orange contained more pineapple than meat? Duck and orange I phoned and said I think they gave me duck and pineapple to be told it’s duck and pineapple with orange sauce! Eh no mention of that on your menu! 50% pineapple in what looked like thickened syrup! Utter garbage I wouldn’t give to a dog! seriously!

I grew up in the Borders before moving to Edinburgh and must admit I've grown a bit snobby about takeaway Chinese and am very wary of them and have low expectations. Wow this one is an exception. Best Chinese takeaway we've ever had. Very flavoursome & all the meat was lovely and tender. Look no further you've found the best Chinese takeaway probably in Scotland. Can't comment on delivery time etc as we picked up but after a ten minute drive home food was still lovely and hot. They need to get an online menu up though! However, it's Chinese. Order what you normally do and they'll say if they don't have it (they had everything we asked for).

Lovely food never had a bad one there are 5 to choose from n Galashiels but we always go here good value for money

Really friendly staff, convenient location, great tasting food which is really good value. There is a lot of competition in the town, however this is my favourite.

Very good service, delivery is always quick and the food is great. We have never had a bad meal from here, i'd recommend this as the best chinese food in Gala. Good value for money too.
