China Pearl in Scottish Borders

Waiting an hour and half for delivery, when food arrived totally disappointed as eaten here several times. Chow mein was so dark, over cooked I could not taste ingredients, seet and sour prawns balls were soggy not crispy, that's just 2 of items .. forgetting prawn crackers though free were hard and dry in places and soft and very greasy in others All food was cold

We came to Eyemouth for the night in our self build camper all the way from Newcastle upon Tyne and even tho you expect to fancy fish n chips up here for tea, we fancied chinese. So we popped in to order food to take away. The young lass on the front desk was very polite and got our order spot on! Price was no different to anywhere else we have been so happy days! When our meal come even the delivery driver said good bye and hoped we had a lovely meal, which is really nice! Took us 5 mins to walk back to van and food was still piping hot, we got chicken fried rice which was lovely even with no sauce, bbq spare ribs in bbq sauce which were very tasty and meat was lovely not chewy which was great as that's my pet hate lol, sweet n sour chicken balls instead with curry sauce to which they had no issue changing, they were beautiful big potion and got 12 😁 curry sauce was fantastic, chips were lush, n soft noddles were perfect and lastly the free prawn crackers were best we've had! 5 star from us and highly recommended 👌

We were visiting friends in Reston and here being the only place that delivers we gave it a bash, we were not disappointed! Friendly, efficient service, food lovely and cooked to perfection. will definitely be ordering again. I would recommend the prawn toast

We ordered a takeaway and it came as told it wud , food was lovely and hot , lady on phone was lovely no complaints at all in fact we will order again very soon 😀

Staying at Parkdean Caravan Park Eyemouth and were recommended this place for a delivery by reception staff. Read a few reviews that were highly critical of food and delivery service but noted that most were over a year old. Anyway took a "chance" and have to say that tne service from ordering to delivery was absolutely faultless. Restaurant contact you by phone when delivery has left and delivery driver was prompt. Food was freshly made and tasted delicious. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again when we are back here again.

I was going to phone to log my thoughts but hey its Friday night and Just Eat App takes priority. My better half does a round trip from Chirnside to bring home several portions of chicken fried rice and where we had to remove the very dry and simply not edible chicken from the meals, the rice was fine. Of course I am disappointed, I detest wasting money and furthermore being sold inferior products...whose with me? Maybe a bad batch of bulk chick strips...who knows!! My memory is a long one...

The two girls behind the counter looked at us as we walked in and immediately turned their backs. Rude. Didn’t wait long in the food. We ordered the set meal for 2. In the time we did wait, the phone went a few times that must have been from customers asking how long their food was going to be. Each time they were told it would be there in 5 minutes; what they couldn’t see was the eye rolling and then the giggles as the phone was hung up. The food was disgusting. The only decent thing was the ribs. No point in complaining or trying to take it back, the meal had to be completely untouched in order for a refund. Needless to say the majority of it went in the bin and today we have upset stomachs and explosive bum blasters!

Ordered a delivery, waited an hour then he went to the wrong address and when asked why it had taken so long we were verbally abused and threatened with violence by the passenger in the car. We were too upset to eat the food! We have reported it to the manager but be very wary of ordering for delivery

Just had a takeaway for the last night of our holiday!!! Omg!!! Disgusting!! Thia green curry looked anemic, water with a lot of corn flower added, no taste of curry!!! & chicken chilli with garlic. Same watery sauce with a single chopped chilli added...worst Chinese food we have had in the last 20 years...wish I could add a picture to this review, you will not believe how s%$t it looks

We found the food here to be excellent and the service very good. The only thing that let it down was the front of house could be a little cleaner. Looking forward to ordering from here again

Terrible food haven’t ever had a takeaway so bad , complete wast of money the food was awful , nothing was recognisable my husband got chicken and no way was it chicken !

went for a couple pints and placed order to be picked up at 9 pm was waiting for us when got there .5 of us all had something different and all enjoyed it will be sure to go back next time we are in eyemouth.

Best Chinese I’ve had in a long time ,had the set meal ,changed all the mains which isn’t usual but great that you can ! Every dish was fresh and hot and perfect ! Friendly staff and just lovely

One of the few places in Eyemouth that delivers. Reasonable quality but overpriced small portions. I ordered a chow mein for £7.30 and it came in a small container!

Great tasting Chinese food & the best Chinese takeaway in Eyemouth

Spicy wings (aka salt and pepper wings) were just battered wings covered in loads of salt, no pepper or chili. Tom yum soup was just white pepper soup (no sourness at all). Had both dishes at many other places and this was the most disappointing. Polite service (except a 10p accidental overcharge), it didn't take too long to make (~10 minutes), well packaged for both the soup and wings.

All I can say is it was lifting. Homeless tramps get better food out of the bins.

Was staying at the local holiday park. Great customer service and the food the, Aromatic Duck was lovely and so was the plain pork char Sui.

Shocking food. £50 worth of food thrown away as it was terrible. Sweet n sour was watery, curry was bland and watery. If I wasn't in my pjs I would of taken it all back

Just purchased 2 portions of spring rolls. Both portions weighed around 8 ounces in total. Cost was £6.50 including plastic bag. Rolls were very basic, no real filling I could identify with ie meat, expected more @ £13.00 per lb. Thankfully we were not starving

Seriously good food. Especially the deep fried squid (I normally order a portion of soft noodles and satay sauce) the portions are extremely generous, the people are lovely. Absolutely no complaints

Not very nice at all, the meat in the chowmein, was so dry you could use it as a door stop, and the prawns were very tough, egg fried rice was ok, But i do hope i feel ok in the morning

Ordered a takeout last night, whilst on holiday in Coldingham. Really tasty food delivered to us. Arrived hot by a really friendly driver. Would highly recommend.

Disappointing. Ordered Szechuan chicken but what I got was something made entirely with a commonly available sweet chilli dip sauce. It was NOT Szechuan chicken. I threw most of it away. There's another Chinese takeaway in Eyemouth which will be getting my business next time.

To be honest it was a good place. I ordered Chilli Chicken but the delivery guy brought it after 1 hour.

Great place. Been going for years. Having lived in Edinburgh for 6 years for uni, I had plenty of choice there for takeout, and China Pearl holds its own against the variety of big city Chinese options. I recommend the spicy shredded beef or salt and chilli chicken.

Worst I’ve ever had decided to try here for a change but needless to say I won’t be back. My daughter and myself were unwell that night and the next couple off days all other family were all fine

Stayed in lodges in Coldingham and ordered a selection of food which was promptly delivered and was all very tasty. Would definitely use again if in the area.

We decided to pay China Pearl a visit during a recent Caravan Holiday In Eyemouth.I had the Sweet and Sour Chicken with Rice, My wife had the Chicken in Black Bean Sauce with chips and we had a mixed Starter box. Food was lovely, the spring rolls in particular were fantastic!

Very nice always use this place when we go to st abbs for holiday never had a bad one . beef and mushroom Curry fried rice and chips Mmm

If you like your Chinese food sweet go for it seems the easy way out. Ribs and soup where decent and to be fair we where refunded for the main no issues

Never had a bad one, chips are about the best I've come across, crisp, tasty and not greasy, chips and curry mixed together very nice. Prices slightly higher than the Berwick Chineses though. 5☆ overall.

Being all relaxed on holiday we chose this for Saturday night take away.The food was hot and sour soup, prawn crackers and crispy duck. They were out of fortune cookies! The soup was a bit too hot, I enjoyed mine but The Mrs left half of hers, the duck was nice but we had a random bit of duck spine in with the portion? Anyway the food was fine for Saturday night take out. I would give 3.5 circles for good if I could.

Absolutely disgusting! I ordered a PLAIN chow mein with NO meat and I found CHICKEN in my bloody chow mein, absolutely appalled as a vegetarian. Trust me fam this place is rank. Thats all.

Last evening of a caravan holiday in Eyemouth. Pleasant service. Good range on menu. Quick service. Delicious meal. Would definitely go back when we come back.

Typical Chinese fayre with plenty to choose from. We chose our mains but the prawn cracker starters were done to perfection. Worth the extra drive through town before retiring back to our holidays flat in St Abbs.

I have eaten here a few times now and have to say the food I have eaten has been great good sized portions and not overly expensive would recommend giving it a go.

Called in around teatime, was served quickly even though quite a few people where waiting. The food was lovely, chicken in oyster sauce really good as were the Singapore noodles. Good value Chinese grub.

Well after reading the reviews was rather dubious about ordering, but having had a few wines and needing food delivered to St Abbs we went for it. Was delivered in time, food was absolutely delicious, small gripe was we ordered a chicken curry and got a beef curry instead, but it was lovely all the same. Delivery driver was happy and friendly so all in all very very happy with the China Pearl

Neon orange coloured sweet and sour sauce, a batter which was a weird dry crumbly consistency which was completely tasteless and was supposed to be a coating to shredded beef... which was non existent! King prawns were rubbery pieces of pink and if you shut your eyes you wouldn’t have known by the taste that they were prawns. No thank you!

What an absolute joke of a take away !

An order to the value of £28 that was over 30 minuets past the 40 minuet wait time. I phoned them and only got an answer after the 7th phone call! When the food eventually came what i was told was £22.50 turned into £28.50 on the door step. The food was almost hot, my daughters chicken, ginger & pineapple had no taste at all and it was obviously not fresh out the kitchen. Avoid this take away at all costs . Or if you like cold late food feel free to order. The picture is what i couldnt eat as it was stone cold and the chips reheated yuk.

Like the food but disappointed they do not do tofu (Beancurd) as a vegan I like this as a good tasty protein source. I have never heard of a chinese restaurant not serving this. Would have had more stars if not for this

Aún caliente cuando llegamos así que supongo que me fui y recalentados. Las comidas no incluyen arroz o patatas fritas, así ejercitarse caro cuando la alimentación de un familiar. Patatas fritas son excelentes.

After being recommended to us, I found the food to be just average and a bit on the salty side. Sat waiting a further 20 minutes after phoning the order in and leaving it the 20-25 told it would be ready and watched 7 other people walk in and get served and food within 5 minutes was a bit disappointing.Won't be back

Had food from China Pearl on Friday night. We phoned the order in for a collection and was told 20 minutes. We ended up waiting around 40 in total. Food was average at best. Part of order was missing also despite being charged for it.

We were staying in a rental house just outside of Coldingham and rang the China Pearl to see if they would deliver which they agreed to. Since the house was new to them and a bit out of the way it took a couple of phone calls from the delivery driver until he found us but he did and it was worth the wait.There were 5 of us and we ordered a range of dishes and all of them were enjoyable. They were well cooked, good portion sizes and remained hot even with the delivery driver getting lost.

Tried for first time the other night chicken curry. Excellent. Very large portions and lovely staff. Quick sevice also. Will never by pass this place again when out for a chinese takeaway.

Stayed at the holiday park last week and had two takeaways at the China Pearl. First one was Sweet and Sour Cantonese Pork and Lemon Chicken with Banana Fritter as dessert. We had our own rice at the caravan so the prices were only £4.80,£5 and £2.50. Considering the size of the portions this was a bargain and very tasty. The second time we had a basic Chicken curry at £4.80 and enjoyed that too. Very good value and will be back in March

We visited the area 3 years ago and tried this takeaway. Very friendly staff and excellent portion sizes. So went straight back to them this week, I had Beef in black bean sauce with plain rice, husband had sweet & sour chicken. Will use again when we next visit.

On first impression I thought to my self wish I hadn't ordered now.... but that was due to price. Where I live ime used to a chicken and beef Curry for 5.50 with build rice or chips Inc or fried rice a little extra. £8.60 WHAT. For one. But after the heart attack was over I must say. Absolutely beautiful not one complaint.... apart from the 8.60... please try if you've took a pay day loan lol.

Staff was very chatty and polite. Although I had ordered fried rice which I had not recieved ( I hadnt been charged for it) it wasnt needed as the portions were very genourous. The food was very very good.

We ordered takeaway for 9 people and they had it delivered within 30 minutes. Everything we had was delicious. In particular I had the honey chilli chicken and it was very spicy but delicious.

We phoned our order in and collected 20 minutes later, my husbands chicken curry was passable but my lar chee (chicken) was amazing, nice and spicey just the way I like it. I would recommend it if you are in Eyemouth

Had deep fryed squid and it was awful,the batter was far to heavy and tasteless. The curry wasn't much better. Next time I'm back in Eyemouth I think I will stick to Mackies for takeaways. Very poor cooking guys.

We had our first takeaway from here last night it will not be our last. Food was delicious and planty of Prawn Crackers. An ideal place to eat when staying at caravan park. Prices good and seemed very busy. Only waited 15 minutes for order.

Recently had a takeaway from this Chinese whilst staying at the caravan park nearby. Food was great, customer service could do with a bit of improvement! The girl on the counter wasn't the most pleasant person in the world!

Not the most sophistocated Chinese food. A reasonably priced buffet at the weekend, but having tried it wth a group once we said we wouldn't do it again. However, on a weekday you can order from the buffet menu, as much as you like, and it's cooked to order. That made for a very satisfying feast at a remarkable price.

We planned to have a meal for our group of ten, didn't expect much but the food was cooked fresh, was very timely and was top quality. Next time our group plan to visit Eyemouth I know we'll we straight back here for a repeat experience.
