Visited last evening and it was okay. The fried rice was a bit lack lustre and to be honest the curry sauce a bit too much. I’d use again if I had to, but won’t rush back.

Glad i found this chinese takeaway in our 3days stay in Hawick. Very satisfied with their food. I ordered special fried rice, roast duck and sweet and sour chicken. The next day i ordered not just 1 special fried rice but two! I love it. The pork dumpling was amazing as well.

AVOID! Update To my previous visit which was bad. I decided to try this place again and wish I didnt. It's the most expensive Chinese takeaway in Hawick and the food is terrible this place deserves to close down it's that bad. Been to other Chinese takeaways in Hawick all are much better and cheaper. I ordered chicken and mushroom soup as I do elsewhere and this was easily the worst soup I have tasted in the UK. Bland tasting water with a tiny amount of frozen mushrooms and very tiny bits of chicken zero flavour or seasoning, tasted of nothing £3.30 charge for it. I also had the SP6 meal on the menu ribs were completely bland and the sweet and sour chicken was on par with a £1 frozen ready meal from farmfoods. Terrible avoid this place complete rip off terrible food and I will never spend a penny in this place again. It's far better to support a takeaway that's good. All the other Chinese takeaways in Hawick are a million times better. I hope the owners read this they should be ashamed of serving food like this and charging what they charge AVOID

This is our closest takeaway (30 miles away) and we are in love with the place. I can say Without a shadow of a doubt, that they do the best chow mein and chicken curry eI havever had. It's so worth the drive. Competitively priced. Red hot food. Great service. Nuff said! An easy 5*

We’ve loved coming here for many years, often travelling miles for what I think is the best Chinese food I’ve ever tasted. The place is very unassuming, and that’s the charm, which only adds to the experience, as it’s the food that takes centre stage. Anything we’ve had has been freshly cooked, the service is good, and I can honestly say that it’s always worth travelling miles to eat here, we’ve been here as a couple and as a large family group, but nothing is too much trouble, even when we haven’t booked ahead. And what a menu!

The purpose of this review is to highlight the dreadful service.the food, as always was fantastic. We eat here occasionally, more often would get a take away. Last night we popped in about 8pm. There were 3 young local Hawick girls who were not interested in doing their jobs. The stood around the counter chatting and on their phones. Had to ask for drinks. On one occasion the bell from the kitchen rang 3 times before one of them went for food. One of them seemed to do all the work, the other 2 seemed to take pleasure in bossing her around. I had to tell them to clear the starter plates when the main were brought.. Please please get decent waiting staff!

We would probably have passed this by if it was not recommended by the owner of our guest house. It could do with a bit of a spruce up but the food is very good and we enjoyed our meal here. Between the two of us we had duck with pancakes, won ton soup, crab and sweetcorn soup, sizzling black bean beef and salmon with ginger and spring onion. The main courses were served with rice and noodles and prawn crackers were given to us before the duck arrived. Everything was tasty, well cooked and hot. The salmon was chunky pieces of fillet lightly battered, not something we have had before. We visited on a Sunday evening which is useful as the choice of eating places in Hawick is limited.then. It does take away meals and does seem to be popular with the locals.

I recently visited the Laughing Buddha on the weekend visiting family. The food was of a high standard and the young waitresses were very polite, friendly and attentive. Great service and enjoyed my meal. However, the decor is extremely outdated and tired, and the carpet through the restaurant was very dirty. Not sure if I will return as although the service and food were great, the dirty carpet and wobbling tables/chairs were extremely off putting.

The thing that lets this place down is the service. The waitresses are young girls who seem to prefer talking to each other rather than seeing to the customers. They also seem to have to look after the young children who belong to the owners. Such a shame because the food is really good but the place is usually empty for a reason. No-one wants to hear the waitresses talking and laughing with their friends and not paying any attention to the customers when they are there for a nice meal. We could have walked out without paying as no-one came down to give us the bill we had to take it up to them. Not sure how this place has survived so long with the service. Not a place that children should be in when people are out for a meal. Such a shame as the food is excellent.

Arriving in Hawick on Saturday afternoon without a dinner reservation left us unable to eat at either of the two restaurants that had been recommended by our B&B host. As we walked along the High Street we passed this place and thought Chinese would be a nice alternative. We were not disappointed. The hot and sour soup was warming and chock full of bits of roast pork and prawns. The honey glazed ribs were perfectly cooked...the meat just fell off the bones. We had the chef's special Chinese dumplings ... a generous portion and they were delicious, as was the sizzling giant prawns in garlic and green onion. A pint of crisp cider was the perfect accompaniment. In short, we were very pleased with our visit and happily recommend this restaurant.

If Royston Vasey had a Chinese restaurant!... Food was excellent but the atmosphere was a bit too much "twin peaks". And old guy talking to himself in the corner clicking his dentures, An angry trucker type who continually stares at you and a 60 year old son talking out his 90 year old mother who insisted on talking far to loudly about "you remember old aunt Miriam... Well her neighbours cats dead!" All the time to a backing track of 1980s synthsizor versions of wham and aha... Seriously weird... I kinda loved it in a strange way!

Visited this restaurant last night about 8.30.The door was opened by a four-year old girl who was playing in the restaurant with her slightly older brother, screaming and shouting and running up and down the aisle. There were two other customers in the restaurant. We sat down, both children standing by our table, staring at us and grinning. No attempt was made by a woman who I assume was the restaurant owner and their mother to remove the children, so we upped and left and had a decent enough meal at Wetherspoons instead.Note to management - it is inexcusable to allow your own children to be unruly, disturbing potentially paying customers. Keep your children out of the way and you might get more business.

The food from here is good which is a shame as the service and staff are disgraceful. Told ( not for the first time) delivery would be 1 hour when I ordered at 1710. Rang back at 1840 when nothing had come and was told food had just left. We live 10 minutes away so when nothing had arrived after 20 minutes I rang back and was told it would be leaving shortly ! I asked the girl why she had blatantly lied just before and her answer was to hang up......they just don't deserve the custom !!

Thought I'd give this take away a go as it's more convenient when picking up people from station. Went with my standard "special chow main". I can't say taste was bad as it had none. No flavour at all. Also everything was pink, not raw...pink from some colouring. No idea what that was about. Also ordered large spring roll. My usual (less convenient for station) take away supply's 2 large, well flavoured, but this was one, medium, pretty bland. Maybe I was just unlucky but won't be back and I'll put up with the extra drive round towards B&Q to my usual one.
