Was excited to support local after moving to the area but when we visited during a Christmas event, a basic mac n cheese was very disappointing, dry and tasted like bread, not cheese. I wouldn't normally leave a bad review but I guess you can't improve if we don't feedback. Pizza was good and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Look forward giving it another chance

Very nice, not cheap but worth the money (now and then😀).

Very disappointing standard of food. We each had macaroni cheese which had cheese melted over the top. This seemed the only cheese in the dish as the white sauce was tasteless. I had some sauce with my macaroni but my husband's pasta was dried up with no sauce at all.

This place is a hidden gem in the town of peebles. The barman mike was a kind and caring man who provide us with all our desires and asks. He was very caring and catered to all members of our party and gave us a wide array of shots and drinks for a very reasonable price. Overall a quality experience which I will never forget. This is a place I would recommend until my last day so thank you mike for the memories ❤️

Such a great spot for coffee, the most delicious cakes and healthy porridge breakfast bowl. Also cater to kids with the biggest portion of homemade waffles

Good food and portion sizes. Service was attentive and overall good value for money. We were the only ones in there so guessing why we were looked after as no one else to deal with.

Nice pub with very friendly staff. Had the lasagna, was really good.

The hotel is in an excellent position in peebles town, the food and service are really good. Staff are brilliant. This is a must visit on a sunny day as the garden is south facing and has lots of tables. You order at the bar.

Visited Peebles n had lunch at Cross Keys, lovely food , great service with a lovely setting, pleased to say the whole of the premises are now dog friendly including the rooms for those staying overnight, this hasn't been the policy of the previous owners, well worth a visit n would return to stay over and enjoy the wonderful beer garden

I had initially gone for lunch to a different little cafe in Peebles down an alleyway and the soup was priced at £7.50! I saw it go by about to be served to a customer and it didn’t merit the high price so I crossed the road and saw the Tontine Hotel. Here it was so quiet and I went in and saw the beautiful Adam Dining room with traditional character, space and lovely views over the hills. I ordered the soup of the day, Carrot and coriander with a bread roll and it was thick and delicious. Only £5.50! I decided to order the Eggs Benedict too and there are various toppings but I chose Haggis. I have to say I was really impressed when the plate was placed in front of me!! It looked delicious and having cut into both eggs, each was perfectly cooked with a just right perfect runny yolk! See pics! The girls serving were very welcoming and pleasant. I’ll def go again and absolutely recommend. It’s a shame they have no menu outside as the dining room at lunch time had just me on a Tuesday at 1230! I had initially looked for a menu outside and there was none but thought I’d take the chance and go in. I mentioned it and the girl said there is a scannable app thing to check the menu. I’m fairly tech minded but I know a lot of elderly also visit Peebles in a day out. They wouldn’t think to scan it and check online and WiFi is pretty poor. Just a tip from me but I think an outside menu would increase your business and yummy offerings get the tastes buds working, and it’s well worth shouting about as it was delicious!

Had just the best experience at the Toll House cafe. Really nice food - very tasty leek and potato soup, and a cheese toastie that doesn't scrimp on the cheese and melted perfectly. Plus the owner is very friendly and made the place so welcoming. I was staying at a nearby house catsitting for the weekend and the house's boiler had broken, making me reliant on making a real fire. The owner, Julie, very kindly gave me some firelighters and gave me some other 'real fire' tips (they have a lovely one going in the cafe). Can't recommend it enough, both for the food and the lovely owner. I couldn't get back to report my fire-making success, but I did manage thanks to Julie! Great place.

I would give it 4 stars but last night's take away terrible not nice I wanted Singapore fried rice I like the noodles to .but when it came it basically was a chicken and ham fried rice with wee drop chillis cut in .not impressed at all cheaper getting chicken and ham rice ive had this from mandarin and it's beautiful got veggies in different meats although I have to ask to miss out prawns yuck.my husband got special curry said the chicken was not nice and his rice was nutty .not happy meals before have been lovely but you pay money you expect better . Won't be back for wee while .

Foods good if they can be arsed serving you ! Open until 10pm but in reality close when they want, grumpy sods
