The Neidpath Inn in Scottish Borders

Superbly located in the beautiful town of Peebles. Mike is a fantastic host and gave us a warm welcome. The rooms have a separate entrance to the pub, up some stairs. Our room was big, bright and spacious with a super king-size bed and a low sofa which our dog loved. The bathroom was separate but it was not shared by other guests. There are tea and coffee making facilities with lots of lovely treats to munch on. The bed is super comfy. The only thing missing for me was a chair and little table or a small dressing table to do my makeup but I made do by sitting on the bed. A loo brush would be prudent in the bathroom too. The pub is really pleasant. Traditional and comfy with a livery double sided bar. It's dog friendly and we found that in the back bar it's quite quiet which was great for our rescue dog. They don't serve food but if you come out of the main entrance and turn right you have the Cozy café at the bottom of the street for bacon morning rolls or a toasted sandwich. Keep on walking and on the corner is another café which specialises in chocolate and the cakes and hot chocolate are to die for. We ate in The Tontine and Central Bar plus The green Tree which were all excellent. The Cross Keys makes a delicious breakfast. For some fresh bread or rolls, The Fat Batard is superb. We walked all over the place, lots to see and do, we loved taking the dog to the river for a paddle. Great stay and a wonderful town. We will return.

We came all the way up from Hertfordshire to stay in this beautiful town we grew to love - Peebles. We could not have picked a more welcoming and hospitable place to stay for the week. Our room was beautifully decorated, cleaned each day with love, packed with teas and treats - and even comes with a Firestick to unwind with in the evenings. The Neidpath Inn is accompanied by a fantastic bar with a homely little garden (that you can smoke in!). The garden overlooks the rooftops and was a marvellous place to sit and reflect on our adventures. We did not get to try any of the food, but I’ve heard nothing but pleasant words regarding it. The owner, Mike, was very accommodating and I appreciate all the hard work he puts into running this place. He does it all!! He walked us to our room upon arrival, talked us through everything the room has to offer - and served our drinks throughout the week. For Parking, there is plenty! There is Parking to the right of the hotel just down the street, behind the back of the little Morrisons. However, we parked at the spacious carpark on Neidpath Road. This is free for 48 hours, but if you leave the carpark for more than an hour - it resets! Overall, what a pleasant week this has been - such an amazing way to start the year. I will forever remember Peebles and I will forever Treasure Room 3 at The Neidpath Inn. I certainly will be coming back. I am at peace here, very happy.

Very nice landlord, very affordable drinks. I can't rate the rooms as we were only there for drinks.

Stayed here for the night on 2nd November 2024 and what a lovely hotel for a reasonable price too! Mike ( the owner ) was such a lovely welcoming guy and very accommodating to me needing an earlier check in due to attending a wedding. The room was a lovely size and very clean! Hairdryer provided and a lovely selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits etc. very nice quiet location in Peebles too, not far of a walk to the main high street! Would definitely recommend!

Charming pub with a curated selection of liquor and yummy pizza. The owner, Andrew, was very welcoming and knowledgable about his spirits. We enjoyed spending time around the friendly locals and the Saturday night band!

Good beer, good jukebox, good live music

Great place. Lovely big clean room. Great bar downstairs. Breakfast was filling freshly cooked for you and as much toast as you can manage. Friendly warm welcome soon as we got there and that continued everytime we popped in for a beer. Would I recommend this place, most definitely!! Would I go back, can't wait!!

Local to the area but have never been in before however glad we rectified this today! Warm friendly service, log burning fire, good selections of beer and delicious pizza. Incredibly dog friendly, our wee dog was made to feel extremely welcome! Looking forward to our next visit already.

Fantastic family friendly wee pub. Authentic Italian food was absolutely scrumptious, pesto is especially good. Had a Salami&Speck pizza and you could tell it was made the real way, even the crust was delicious. Nice range of drinks, Stella Non-Alcoholic beer was lovely. The owners were around, so helpful and friendly, and went out of there way to be hospitable and help us with a birthday cake for one of our party. It's such a lovely and smart place, and the whole vibe is really chilled, but traditional and modern at same time. Very reasonable pricing, with excellent service. Really good quality pool table, and other amenities. I 2ill definitely be back next time I'm passing through. Thanks again ❤️

Nice little bar pretty authentic but between the loud music 🎶, pool 🎱 table and the overly raised voices one drink was just about right......

My partner ( who is an excellent chef ) raved about this pub. We went last week. The owner and his wife are warm and welcoming, the atmosphere ambient. Great selection of beers and whiskey. I had the best home made pizza, made in a proper pizza oven, I have ever had! Looking forward to going back next week

We visited this restaurant as we stayed a short trip to Peebles and enjoy Italian food and we wanted to try something different from the other restaurants, whose menus were a bit ‘samey’. I called to book a reservation and spoke to one of the owners who is also the chef. I was delighted when I asked her about the menu as she is Italian, uses Italian sourced ingredients and is passionate about making pizza. On first appearance when we walked into the building , it looked like a traditional pub, some people playing pool and drinking pints. However we went through to the restaurant at the back and met the other owner (family run) ,had some pre drinks and ordered 8, 12 inch stone cooked pizzas for our friends and family. We were served as soon as the pizzas were ready and at the end everyone agreed that this was our favourite meal on our trip. If you are looking for the best pizza in Peebles, this is it! They were delicious!

My wife and her friend stayed here for 3 nights b+b and were very happy with the accommodation and the food provided. The service was excellent as was the warm welcome, very reasonable prices and highly recommended

Can't recommend this place highly enough. The accommodation for our wedding party was excellent, breakfast delightful, the the bar is full of character with some nice beers but most of all, Andy and his wife were wonderful hosts who made us all feel very welcome. We would all go back there in a heartbeat.

We were in Peeples for the wedding of my daughter at Neidpath castle and arranged for about 50 familly and friends to meet in the Niedpath inn the night before the wedding , lovely friendly pub , they provided us with about 30 pizzas and chicken dippers and chips for the kids all night , really had a great night in there

Sadly on the day we visited it was quite a charmless space suffering from Covid restrictions and in need of a little love. We realise that everyone is doing thier best during these tough times. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day. Hopefully The Inn will bounce back and be a warm and friendly place once again.

A lovely inn, stayed in the hotel part and the room was spacious and comfortable. Noise was not a problem, soundproofing seemed to be good and had a very good night's sleep. The view from the room was lovely along with the breakfast in the morning. The greeting by the owner was very welcoming and the staff at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and will no doubt visit again in the future 🙂

Great place to stay. The staff couldn't do enough to help you. Victoria the cleaner and chef made special effort to get to know us and even went the extra mile to get baby biscuits for our toddler. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend.

Real Italian pizza - thin and delicious. Vegan cheese available too. Nice beer garden to sit in and look over the rooftops.

A lovely pub, which was the end of a walk for us, but would be worth making a special detour for. Top notch pizza made to proper Italian standards, a good selection of beers and very friendly and helpful staff. If only we weren't on holiday here, I'd be a regular immediately.

This pub only serves a good variety of hand-made pizzas on their menu, but I'd heard they are really tasty so we went to try them. They were really well made, and the vegan pizza was really nice. Friendly staff gave us takeaway boxes for our leftovers. Nice quiet eating area at the rear on a Saturday afternoon. We'll be back!

We found this pub quite by chance when wandering through Peebles and were delighted by the friendly welcome and incredible pizzas! We sat in the sheltered back garden (a quiet little sun trap), and had the most delicious home made pizzas made by the Italian chef who then came to speak to us.

We stayed at the hydro in Peebles and stumbled across this lovely pub. The staff were so attentive and caring. Especially the bar lady from Hawick. What a lovely place to spend a few hours in. They have Pool and darts so loads of entertainment. The manager and his wife are so friendly and the pizzas are 1st class. GO THERE if you are going to peebles for a couple of days.

New owners have turned this hotel /bar and beer garden around, proprietor Andy made us feel very welcome and asked what he could do too makes it in anyway better, we had a great time and will return soon Loved it👍

Stayed for 3 nights lovely comfy room but took ages for hot water to come through at sink, staff very pleasant, breakfast fabulous, felt safe untill Saturday night, dogs are also very welcome, would definitely recommend for cheap and cheerful and great location.

Very friendly staff n good accommodations

The bedroom was about average, good cleanliness and the TV just about worked. The bar was about average and nothing really stuck out. There was a beer garden and pool table although you had to pay to use the pool table. Overall average experience.

Big improvement since last visit!

The Neidpath Inn in Peebles is very well run by Andrew and his wife who have settled here from America. Visiting to fish the nearby Tweed, a friend and I booked in overnight. The Neidpath Inn is a class Borders public house with lots of character and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It lies just a couple of hundred yards from Pebbles' high street. There was live music in the evening and a superb cooked breakfast in the morning. The bedrooms upstairs are well-appointed, cosy and very quiet. Good value and a very enjoyable visit.

Food only from Thursdsy until Sunday. Waiter (Owner) served drinks on the porch even as it was supposed to be close.

Took a pee here once. It was good.

Not much atmosphere and dirty tents that had not been cleaned. Seen better days in terms of the decor and not much cube in terms of ales

Nice fresh rooms and nice service! The hotel is located in/near the city centre. For breakfast, you have to walk 150-200 meters to get to - a cafe open in the morning where you get a discount coupon. I can definitely imagine staying there again

The town of Peebles was a wonderful surprise!!! so charming, friendly people and the Neidpath Inn was definitely the place to watch the soccer game between England and Russia. Great atmosphere!

Girls are bringing life bak into pub

We stayed here for one night during our Scotland Tour 2018. The staff was very nice and welcoming, very easy going. The rooms were excellent, the bathrooms equally. Parking is possible a few meters around the corner on a car park. Breakfast was included in form of a voucher for a café one minute down the street, which was good.

This was a very welcoming experience, very laid back too. The young man who checked us in also showed us to our room. And brought us our takeaway with plates, cutlery and glasses. Really going above and beyond to make us comfortable. The room was spacious, with a nice view too. Comfy bed. Clean bathroom. The only thing was that checking out was difficult. We stayed on a Saturday night so no one was there to give the room key to on Sunday morning till after 12:30.

Able-bodied parking on the road. Liter in time. Nearby parking at the bottom of the hill behind the pub, medium sized public parking.
