What a view from this lovely cafe, well worth a visit even just for that! Grabbed a coffee, pot of tea and sampled their cakes, which were pretty delicious. Chocolate cake and a slice of banoffee pie

From the minute we stepped through the door, service was great from the young team, food was excellent , I had a meat like Platter with olives ,cheese and salad, homemade Garlic bread followed by Spahetti Bolognaise, Huge Portion and Garlic Bread that I had never seen or tasted before washed down with water and a lovely bottle of Zinfadel Rose wine , Absolutely delicious, Compliments to the Chefs and the Kp. Will definitely be back .Two very food Coma'd people and definately worth every penny for the atmosphere. Definitely phone up and book first. They also have just opened up Takeaway as so busy. Very Clean Restaurant also.

Great place for a good quality meal that doesn't break the bank. We have been a few times to the mariners and always come away very impressed. Really friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. The quality of the produce used is excellent (I am quite fussy about meat in particular) I recently had a very impressive breakfast which was fantastic, Enormous! The chips also deserve a mention, home made chips made to order. Perfection. If you're in the area and looking for good quality food, give this place a try.

We had the hotel breakfast as we were actually on our way to Cairnryan for the ferry. The breakfast was typical Scottish food served and cooked just fine. The hotel experience was very nice with all staff most helpful. One thing to note is that there is no taxi service on Sunday morning before 8:00 a.m. so if you have an early ferry there is no way to get there without a car. Later in the morning there is a bus service to the port area. The port area is about 15 minutes away by bus.

Myself and two friends decided to pop in here for breakfast one morning 2 of us had the big breakfasts and the other had a breakfast roll. The big breakfasts were very large. I personally wasn't keen on the link sausage but that's just personal preference my friend liked there's everything els was exelent. There condaments were in individual sashets and the tomato ketchup wasn't nice all 3 of us agreed on that. The service was exelent. We were handed menus as soon as we sat down. Once we placed our order the drinks arived quickly and our food not long behind it. All in all very good experience just avoid the ketchup

Ferry stopover popped in for a meal with our dog, super food and welcome...lovely restaurant section, made our dog very welcome, and supplied water and treats ( only our dog couldn't accept - as he is on a strict diet). highly recommended, we will be back....

Yet another pleasant visit to Stranraer, topped off with a meal at Sun Kai. Couldn't have been better, tastie food and friendly hospitable staff.

We were really looking forward to our meal from Sun Kai as an end of holiday treat....sadly the best thing about the food was the microwave safe containers it came in! Rice was salty and hard, prawns were tough and in awful batter and the chow mein had overcooked noodles and undercooked everything else and was really tasteless. I can't believe it's gone so bad in only a year. We won't be back and if I could give minus stars, I would.

We call in regularly for a good, well-packed, well-priced sandwich; not a vast fancy choice, but fresh and tasty. Fish and Chips on a Thursday evening is also pretty decent! Service can vary depending who is working, from very friendly and helpful to downright indifferent.

We paid £50 for two main dishes and one alcoholic beverage and one tea. The main courses were perhaps reasonably priced if they had included rice. I think that the rice was my biggest annoyance. This restaurant charges £4.80 for a tiny bowl of boiled rice. I had a pot of tea and a chicken curry. My husband had a beef dish and added a side of mushrooms and one beer. Perhaps the cost of living is biting but I felt that £50 was excessive. When I complained about my dish being excessively oily it was taken back to have the oil better mixed in with the food. But even the gravy on John’s mushrooms was oily. Not greatly recommended.
