Myself and two friends decided to pop in here for breakfast one morning 2 of us had the big breakfasts and the other had a breakfast roll. The big breakfasts were very large. I personally wasn't keen on the link sausage but that's just personal preference my friend liked there's everything els was exelent. There condaments were in individual sashets and the tomato ketchup wasn't nice all 3 of us agreed on that. The service was exelent. We were handed menus as soon as we sat down. Once we placed our order the drinks arived quickly and our food not long behind it. All in all very good experience just avoid the ketchup

We arrived after 4-00 and the staff were starting to close up. Happy to serve us but they did clear away outdoor chairs and swept the floor. Coffee was ok. A little weak. Husband had a scone which he said was very nice. I had a cannolli which was very sweet but that's to be expected.

We were staying in Portpatrick this summer and wanted a quick and easy lunch after doing a bit of shopping in Stranraer. I wasn't expecting much from a cafe in the Main Street but the staff were incredibly friendly and the food was great. Visited this coffee shop for lunch yesterday and won't be back. I visit Stranraer regularly with the kids for family reasons and this was our safe place to go. Unfortunately the waitress was extremely stressed and not exactly happy to see our small party arrive. She made it very clear we were not her preferred customers.... Every question asked was hassle.... The table needing wiped (not out fault... Previous customers) was hassle.... Our order was not being said quick enough was hassle. In all I was made to feel anxious from the inset.... Will not be back even though the food is nice.... My kids are part of our family and when it is clear they are stressing the waitress out.... Well it is then clear we will take our money else where.

We turned up at the The Pizzeria early in the morning for breakfast, because it was so early there was not many guests, I can therefore not comment on how popular how the cafe is.We were made welcome and asked to sit anywhere we wished, I ordered scambled eggs and bacon and toast, now I admit that I can be difficult to suit due to dietary ptoblems I need my bacon and toast to be incinerated, and that's exactly what I received, the cook made my bacon and toast just the way I like it.My friends on the other hand who are more conventional were very happy with their meals the food was served quickly and the staff were pleasant and professional. All in all we were happy with what we were given, I know this is a limited review but due to a short visit and our restricted use of the facilities.Would I go back again? Probably.

The Early Breakfast is a good plate full of everything that is needed. The fried eggs are done to a T, as is the toast (and, unlike a lot of other places, you get one and a half pats of butter per slice). Tea was tasty - but only one cup in the pot.My wife had a breakfast bun - bacon and fried egg in a bun - which she had to eat with a knife and fork due to its size and the way the egg would have dribbled all over her if she had tried eating it by hand.

Drove into Stranraer 17.45 on a Saturday evening on a mission to feed my family. Had previously eaten here and thought a few pizzas would prepare us for the journey up to Glasgow.A warm Stranraer welcome was displayed in the form of chairs up on table tops for cleaning and a distinct "We don't want or need your cash" visual message. This venue and the town itself could do with a severe wake up call - Do they want visitors cash or do they want a life on the dole?

Now known as The Coffee Bean this is a busy cafe/restaurant in Stranraer so it is difficult to justify it's cash only policy. Needs to invest in credit card technology and not inconvenience the customer by having to leave and go to nearest cash machine. Tourist to the town will be put off by one of the busiest cafes insisting on cash payments.

We came here on a wet day after having it recommended by a nearby shop owner. The cafe seems to stay busy most of the day from what we saw (we were stuck in town while our car was in the garage) but service is fast and friendly. We shared the bolognaise and diavolo pizza, the bases seemed to be freshly made in house and were very nice. The bolognaise was meaty but not very tomatoey which was a bit disappointing. The diavolo was very well topped and very tasty. I had a strawberry gateux frappe - it was huge and delicious, recommended. I'd come back here to try other things next time I was in town.

Well staff were very friendly and helpful. I ordered toast and poached eggs with a side of hash browns, but was served poached eggs on a plate with hash browns and toast on a separate plate, the eggs were completely destroyed and all over the place trying to get them on to the toast. Eggs were runny which would usually be great for me, but when they've been served in an odd order it's hard to move them without losing half the egg. My mother and aunty both enjoyed their sandwiches. We ordered chips for the table, a small portion, which was actually huge so that's great value for money. Unfortunately many of the chips were not cooked properly and were still raw inside. We were on holiday and thought we'd have a treat and order some large chocolate milkshakes, in opposition to the chips, their "large" milkshake was just a regular small glass, I'm sure their small milk shake must have been a shot, it was also basically just chocolate milk (wouldn't be surprised if it was nesquik) so that was a bit disappointing.

We have visited here countless times over the past 12 years as regular visitors to the area, as we were last week. Reading reviews I can see why people are a little confused at just what this is. It is not a pizzeria as 99.9 per cent of the population would perceive but it is definitely a very good café were we have always received good service, good quality food that is great value. I am not a huge coffee drinker but they do a fabulous milky, frothy coffee which I always order when visiting. The menu is varied from pizzas, panini's , burgers plus lots more. They do fab homemade soup. They have had a bit of a make over in recent years but it is very down to earth. If you go expecting the stereotypical pizzeria you will be disappointed but if you go expecting a damn good café your should be very satidfied

We visited the place for family lunch after having fun in swimming pool. we arrived all happy and relaxed and left disappointed. Well restaurant looks attractive outside and inside so big plus for appearance. We ordered gluten free dinner (huge plus for gf menu), burger and kiddies fish fingers with chips. Food was all right, massive portion for kids, could easily do as an adult dinner. And again adult burger could do as a kiddie meal, was too small for a main adult. Apart from that food was good in taste. Well now I have to mention about the staff. Terrible! We were served by long dark haired girl, a bit chubby (no offence). She took the order, served us and that was it. Never came and ask if everything is OK, if we need anything etc. Unlucky I was not happy with my food. I complained about my sweetcorn was off (looked tired, smelled and was disgusting in taste) and onion was mouldy. The waitress answered: "oh sorry about that, would you like anything else"? Well obviously I did not! After being served off food, which wasn't really taken into account, I would spend money on something else? Then she left. And we were sitting and waiting. Nobody took care about us and restaurant was not busy at all. We asked her if we could get the bill, so she arrived NEAR the table, leand toward us, mumbled something to somebody else, put bill on the table and left! I find it so rude! Not enough food was off, waitress not attentive, we paid full bill, weren't offer any complimentary coffee/cake/discount... So sad... Nice place but wrong people working in. Would not come back and would not recommend to anyone.

Monday 29th September popped in for a snack - the external signage left me confused. Is this establishment really trading as the 'The Pizzeria', 'The Coffee Bean', 'The Café across from D'Nisi' or what's it really known as locally? I'm totally bewildered if I was to recommend it to visitors outwith Stranraer.Had a rather tasty and well cooked pizza - noted the generous topping of cheese and the coffee was hot and flavoursome. For food and drink I'd score it highly for an informal lunch.General housekeeping was good and the loo was very clean.Only criticism was the waiting staff who made zero attempt to really engage with us. Even my youngest member of the family noted the lady who served us didn't have much to say. Note to management - your takings from us could easily have doubled - the food and coffee was very good but no attempt was made to ask if we would like another coffee or desserts.

Nice comfy seats. Menu is varied to suit all tastes. Staff willing to help with anything you ask them. My local stop off so might be a bit biased but can honestly recommend it.

The name of the cafe is a little confusing as it was nothing like a pizzeria. This was a lunchtime visit and three of the group had a sandwich whilst I had a chicken burger with chips. The sandwiches were well filled and deemed to be tasty. Three of the group also had a cake or similar as a sweet. The service was friendly and efficient and the ambiance pleasant. With two coffees and two teas the total bill was £28.68 which was very good value.

Meal today in Pizzeria, Stranraer. I have not been in this establishment for a considerable period. I was impressed by the fact that they have change the entrance, my memories of my last visit were of nearly tripping over a small step just inside the door. This has now been sorted with the floor now at the same level making entering and exiting the restaurant much easier and safer for less able people.I thought the menu did not have a big range of choices, but I went there with the expressed wish to have a fresh pizza, so my choices was adequate to my needs. We were attended to by the waitress, ordered in and pizza on my table, piping hot and more importantly freshly made in a short space of time.I enjoyed the warm atmosphere, the clean décor, the friendly staff and the delicious pizza. All in all a very pleasant eating experience, we will be back.

We decided to have lunch here based on the reviews on Tripadvisor. We really can't understand why this place gets good reviews. The menu (a plastic laminated job) was uninspiring - a few pizzas, pasta dishes and sandwiches. We had our 8 month old daughter with us and whilst high chairs were available there was no baby changing. We fed our daughter with food we had brought as well as ordering for ourselves. Just after our food arrived our daughter decided to take an aversion to her own food and was badly sick. We obviously left our own food to tend to her. With the lack of baby changing we had to change her clothes in the cafe. Whilst in the midst of tending to our daughter the waitress put our bill on the table, even though we had just received our food and hadn't indicated we were going to leave. Nobody asked if our daughter was OK, whether we wanted the bill or not incase we had to leave quickly or if we wanted our food kept warm whilst we dealt with her. Once cleaned up our daughter was fine so we ate our food. To be honest we should just have left. Our pasta was pretty horrible, especially the 3 cheese pasta dish. We quickly paid our bill and left and shan't be returning.

Took the family here for lunch while on holiday. Good range of snacks and meals, very busy place! The three children and my husband had pizzas, all different ones. I had cheesy nachos. The service was efficient, and when the food came we were pleasantly surprised! The pizzas were properly made, with plenty of toppings, and the dough base was superb. My nachos were lovely, and not a scrap was left on the plate! The place was a bit hot though, so as soon as we finished we had to get outside, which was a shame.
