Recomiendo.
We love our local deli and are so lucky that it's in our street! Delicious sandwiches, salads, soup and cakes. We always recommend to our guests when they are looking for a packed lunch or picnic. Really friendly folk with Roddy at the helm.
Delicious food, hot strong coffee, pleasant service, limited tables, got very busy, nicely decorated venue with lovely views. Would just say the menu is limited. However will definitely be back, clean and bright place to eat
The tasting menu we were served at The Dipping Lugger was quite something… including incredibly good halibut and the biggest and tastiest scallop I’ve ever eaten.
Every course was a hit.
Can’t comment on the wine pairing as we didn’t choose it, instead opting for a Ullapool G&T each which was very nice.
The service here is really warm and friendly, I didn’t catch the waitresses name but she went the extra mile taking time to talk to us about the food and our trip.
The only other feedback I can give is that it felt very brightly lit in the dining room, some softer lighting would help make it feel cosier.
Thank you again for such a brilliant evening, we already want to return!
Surprise find . Lovely friendly service . Good pizza and amazing Tiramisu. Went with my daughter as a quick stop to break up a long drive and would not hesitate to come back .
Lucky to find that dinner was available on one of the nights. The meal was excellent. Extremely well cooked, presented and served. Don't miss the opportunity to eat there if you can. Elaine is a great cook/chef.
This was a lovely wee stop en route to Gairloch and to be honest, not where we had originally planned to stop off.
Forming part of the Lochcarron Golf Club but not quite located in the main part of the village, this was a no nonsense, comfortable café.
We were greeted by a lovely waitress - she made my four year old son feel right at home and let him look after their ‘Baby Buddha’ ornament (Buddha’s are an obsession of his). She was proper helpful and without fuss, even done us takeaway food for my wife, who was babysitting in the motorhome.
We ordered a few things but my Eggs & Avocado on Toast were done perfectly (runny Yolks / smooth Avocado). My Coffee was spot on and well needed after a long drive without any sort of stop off points. My son devoured his Scrambled Egg on Toast. The food was nothing out of this world but for me, it was just good home-cooking eaten at the exact right time!
An added bonus of the location made this driving break even better - overlooking the Loch Carron inlet and miles of blue sky and greenery. I’d confidently say it falls into the hidden gem category of NC500 eateries - don’t be put off by the Golf Club pavilion facade!
Lovely cosy little cafe, situated in the railway building on platform 1. Nice atmosphere, friendly locals and the owner is very knowledgeable and helpful with local information. A lovely lady made me a buttered baked potato with coronation chicken from a varied menu for under a fiver...great value. Nice stop to fill in time when waiting for the train, and round off a trip to the beautiful, welcoming and characterful Nairn. Both sit-in and takeaway are available. Thankyou, recommend to all for a taste of Highland hospitality.
