We stayed at Taigh Ailean for our trip to Skye. We also had the opportunity to eat dinner there (Breakfast was included with our stay.) The dinner was so delicious! The view is lovely as you can see the loch from the windows of the bar. All the staff is fantastic and so friendly! I had a great dinner and I would describe it, but the menu changes to suit what is in season and available from the sea. Whatever you get, I guarantee it will be the best! Make sure you call ahead and get a reservation as it fills up quickly. I know that they also have live music, which would be great, but we didn't have any while we were there.
Thomas and the team at Links are fantastic - food was fabulous - we tried the Cullen Skink and it was delicious. So was the Lasagne and the chicken dishes. Great value for money and definitely a 6 out of 5 score for us đ And the views are stunning too đ
Amazing little restaurant! There was a bit of a wait for the food, but it was definitely worth it! The staff were great at checking in with you even though it was very busy. The room felt a little cold, but that was the only negative. We also took some treats home from the takeaway section. (Forgot to take photos!)
The occaision was my Aunt's 90th Birthday and 3 members of her family and their partners, belatedly gathered in her hometown of Lossiemouth as were unable to attend the actual Birthday in January.
We read reviews and preferring a small local restaurant, and wanting to treat her to something really special, Willi and his team did not disappoint!
From making the booking, all queries were answered promptly and suggestions made in a very helpful way ensuring that our Aunt had the very best time.
The place itself was very smart with a wood burner and comfortable chairs, local artwork on the walls and excellent friendly staff who are well informed with regard to the food and what the chef can do if an alternative is needed from the menu.
The food itself was sublime, beautiful fresh fish imaginatively presented with interesting flavours Willi really knows how to pair ingredients to make something spectacular.
Great wine excellent food, the place was doing an absolutely roaring trade on a Thursday, every tabke was taken, do yoursrlf a favour and come here!
This place is just such a pleasant surprise . Fabulous authentic Italian pizzas with great staff and friendly chilled atmosphere . The bakery produce is in a little porch and their breakfast pastries and sourdough are fabulous . So popular booking and ordering early is recommended :-)
We always visit Portmahomack on our annual holiday in the Highlands and have enjoyed several visits to the cafe. We found out last year that the cafe had changed hands and have visited again this year. Friendly staff and excellent food so still deserving of 5 stars.
My first time to Cromarty, my first time to Slaughterhouse Coffee and it was glorious: excellent coffee, excellent cake, no bother for them to fill a thermos full with matcha and an amazing view just perched outside watching the firth. Alas, apparently today was their last day so, unless someone else picks up the business from them, this was the end, a glorious end but; an end nonethelessâŚ
Quirky wee cafe worth a visit. Haggis and cheese toastie was yum! Prawn baguette was good but too much sauce which made it tricky to eat đ
Love the style of everything including the Lenz mugs (local pottery Lenz-ceramics)
Such a great takeaway. Excellent burgers, kebab bowls and loaded fries. There's a mix of typical takeaway food with other different stuff, it's all very fresh and not greasy at all.
Great for lunch also. Fresh soup and sandwiches.
Lovely homemade desserts.
Staff are friendly and pleasant.
Highly recommend!
I hate to use such a cliche, but this is Lochness's best-kept secret. We ate here three days in a rowâthere would have been fourâbut they are not open tomorrow. The pizza is absolutely mouth-watering and wonât disappoint. Word of advice: Order the dessert. It kept us coming back for more. I have traveled worldwide, and this dessert ranks at the top of my favorite list: great food and a perfect atmosphere. I had a great time chatting with Sam. I hope we run into each other again. Maybe we will see you In Portugal. Thank You for the fantastic food & days!
Lovely museum with excellent displays describing the history and life of the people of Lewis. . As part of our tour, a local guga hunter gave a presentation on how guga birds were hunted . Absolutely fascinating. Sadly, we did not have time to eat at the cafe.
