Beaufort House PIZZA in Highland

Delicious! Such a warm and cozy venue with friendly staff and the pizzas were cooked to perfection. Anyone who visits Fort Augustus needs to visit this place.

Just polished off two pizzas from this unassuming spot on Fort Augustus. We had a takeaway, whereas I understand it is normally a sit-in service, although this was not available today. I couldn’t write a review quick enough. The pizza is truly excellent. Only a handful of options, but enough to appeal to a wide range of tastes. The dough is crisp with a good chew and taste as a result of a slow-fermented sourdough. Generous toppings in interesting combinations (including the ‘Highlander’ - haggis, chilli jam, and red onions), and cooked very well. Welcoming, friendly service was a further plus. If you are in the area (we drove in from 20 minutes away), you should visit. We will again.

If you enjoy a pizza, you’ll love Beaufort House. If you don’t, this might just be the place to change your mind. This small, eight-table restaurant serves the most brilliant pizzas you’ll get anywhere. Set close to the locks on the Caledonian canal, Beaufort House was a guest house until the Covid pandemic forced the owners to diversify by delivering home-made takeaway pizzas. They were in such demand that when lockdown was over, the couple decided to convert the property into a pizza restaurant. They keep it simple - but good. There are eight different types of pizza on offer, extra toppings are optional but there are no side orders or other dishes. Beers, wines and soft drinks are available and usually a choice of two desserts. The tiramisu cheesecake was delicious. Beaufort House is open Wednesday for Saturday from 5pm to 7pm or when the home-made dough runs out. It’s popular among locals and holidaymakers so book if you can. They do take walk-ins if you’re lucky. We tried twice to book and were unable to get a table so we turned up and waited 15 minutes for a table. The pizza and is fantastic and I didn’t see an unhappy customer in the house. The couple who own the place work extremely hard but are welcoming and efficient. A superb little restaurant..

We were blow away from start to finish and can't wait to come back in the future! It is like going for pizza in someones cosy welcoming home (which in reality it is) and we were not dissapointed. We are massive fans of a good pizza when out and this place is outstanding and the best pizza we have ever had!! Oh, and the cheesecake is amazing!! Fab service, atmosphere, food and wine - Sam and Glenn's place is a must! 🍕 🍷

Struck really lucky and managed to get in for pizza and drinks. We weren’t disappointed. Really tasty pizza and fantastic hospitality. Would certainly recommend.

Wonderful little restaurant specializing in The most delicious and fresh pizzas. Service very friendly and efficient and extremely good value. This is a must if you are staying in or visiting Fort Augustus. Book for eat in but takeaway also available. YUM!!

The owners of this charming pizza joint were super nice, taking some time to visit with us after we ate. The pizza was outstanding! The crust was light and airy and the toppings were fresh and tasty. We highly recommend this establishment for anyone in the Fort Augustus area who is in the mood for artisan pizza.

We've been to Beaufort 3-4 times now and I'd highly recommend it. The food options can be limited in Fort Augustus and the quality very mixed, so Beaufort House Pizza stands out. I'd go as far as to say that the pizza is some of the best that I've ever had, and well, I've had a few...! The menu is 'simple' and straightforward, but executed with perfection. They've nailed it each time we went. You'd be lucky to get a table without booking, although a summer's day might help, as I believe they have a nice garden space with tables too. Keep up the good work!

What an amazing small pizza restaurant. You definitely need to book as so popular. We had the highland pizza and the meat feast pizza to share between 2 of us. So tasty and cooked fresh so be prepared to wait. Sam was so chatty and friendly she made us feel so welcome and Glynns pizza are brilliant. Highly recommend and will definitely be back if in the area again

First time visiting Beaufort House Pizza, and we will definitely be returning. We tried the meatfeast pizza and the Highlander pizza with haggis, red onion, and sweet chilli oil. Both delicious and tasty. Sam is a great host and very friendly. Glynn makes the most amazing salted caramel cheescake 😋 It is worth a visit whilst in Fort Augustus. Try and make a reservation as it gets booked up quickly. Take away available.

What a fabulous place! A small & cost pizza place in Fort Augustus. Booking definitely required. Food - impeccable! Service - fantastic. Cannot fault it. Sam & Glenn have a truly wonderful little pizza place.

After reading reviews, I was so looking forward to getting a takeaway from this place on the last night of our short break, I went in last night only to be greeted with a sign stating - Sorry no takeaways today, the lady said they were fully booked in the cafe and they had already had to turn customers away. I was gutted, maybe sensing my disappointment, the host asked the chef if there was any chance of squeezing in my order, to which he agreed. So glad he did as I would have otherwise missed the chance to taste the best pizza ever, I opted for a plain cheese, which my 8 year old daughter absolutely loved and a Beaufort, which was delicious, the homemade cheesecake was also out of this world. If I'm ever back in the area, it will be highlander pizza next. Can't thank you enough for your outstanding customer service and excellent food.

If you like pizza then this place is for you. My wife and I visited last week and it was a wonderful experience. It’s a husband and wife run business and the lady of the house is front of house while her husband is the chef. It felt very personal and not rushed and we had a lovely chat about the area. My wife had the pepperoni while I had the meat feast and they were both delicious, up there with any New York Pizza slice I have had while there. They also sold local beers that were also very nice. All I will say is it’s a small place and they fill up quickly so you are better to book in advance.

Came across this place on a Fort Augustus FB page. One road back from the main staircase loch St, you will find this fantastic pizza place. You defo need to book as it has about 10 indoor table, but also has outdoor table. The pizzas were top class. The dough was the star, light and crispy crust, one of the bests pizzas we have had. We also had the cheesecake dessert, again, all homemade and very tasty. Nice atmosphere and Sam was a great host, it is refreshening when the host interacts with the guests. Well worth a visit and is the best restaurant in Fort Augustus.

Really bad customer service. Called to ask if it was possible for a reservation as we were celebrating my 1 year cancer free. Told us that wasn’t possible but if we came a little later, it would not be a problem for a table. So we walked all the way there from the hotel, asked for a table, they told us there wasn’t any. Saw there was a table free inside, explained we called and if they maybe kept it free for us. Got a snarl that they could organise their restaurant as they pleased. They as good as kicked us out with the words that we can come back later, which we, of course, never did. Worst experience of our 3 weeks in Scotland. Other and a lot better places around.

We kwamen terug na een dagje op pad te zijn geweest en waren laat . Er waren geen plekken meer vrij maar de eigenaresse bood ons aan om de pizza's als take away mee te nemen terwijl ze dat eigenlijk die dag niet deed ivm drukte. Pizza's waren alle 3 heel erg lekker en gemaakt met verse ingrediënten. Goed van prijs en we gaan als het mogelijk is zeker nog een keer terug om gezellig in het restaurant zelf te eten voor we weer naar huis vertrekken .

We only saw this amazing wee restaurant as we read the menu for the Bothy and we went to visit for dinner, they were fully booked but asked if we could pop back in 1/2 hour or so, we did and we weren’t disappointed, small manageable menu, no starters 8 or so pizzas freshly made with additional toppings available, wine by the glass or bottle, very very tasty and well priced, best place to eat in Fort Augustus, we will return and eat here, by the way yes it is a restaurant in a living room, perfect warm and homely.

Had a fantastic dinner on the first night of our short stay away. On arrival (walk in) there were no tables available but Sam was kind enough to give us a rough timeslot on when to return so popped into the Lock Inn for a pre-dinner drink (which was also a great place to go). Pizzas made by Glenn were amazing and Sam was a perfect host. We enjoyed it so much, we returned on our last evening. 2nd time round we tried out Sams homemade cheesecake, best one I've ever tasted. A great find! If you love pizza and homemade dessert, definitely worth going along.

An absolute MUST if you’re staying in Fort Augustus. Really yummy pizzas with incredible homemade dough. We loved the home made dessert of the day of tiramisu cheesecake. Such a beautiful and cozy little place!

Lovely family owned restaurant. The hostess (so sorry I didn’t get her name) is so welcoming and makes you feel immediately at home. The pizzas are up there with some of the best I’ve ever had and can all be custom made to whatever toppings you fancy. They are DELICIOUS!!!! This is a very popular restaurant and is quite small so you need to book the day before. Definitely the best food in Fort Augustus.

Fantastic pizza, wonderful dessert and warm and friendly service - easily the best place to eat we’ve found in Fort Augustus. My other half isn’t usually fussed about pizza but raved about this - we both loved it so much we returned 48hrs later. They are generous in size and freshly made and great value for money. Would highly recommend!!

Who would have thought that one of our favorite meals in a two-week stay in Scotland and northern England would be this little gem of a place? We'd spent the day driving around Loch Ness, and wanted something less formal than that offered by our hotel across the road. This restaurant has a very limited menu (no salads, no appetizers) and one dessert each evening. But the space is lovely, the owner/host is charming and the owner/chef makes wonderful pizzas and desserts!

Walked in after driving to Fort Augustus through the rain and was seated on a very busy night without a reservation. The service was warm and welcoming. The pizza was some of the best I’ve had since NYC or Italy - quality ingredients and crisp, light crust. Soft drinks, water, wine, and local beer. All delicious. The only thing we didn’t have was the home made desert because we ran out of room. We’re here for five days and will most likely be back!!
