The best restaurants in Highlands and Islands

look as a Glaswegian, I know Indian restaurants. I make no comments on the restaurant itself as we took takeaway. the food is plentiful but very average. As another review has indicated, the sauces seem really sweet and bland. Average at best

Pedí una comida para llevar aquí temprano esta noche. ¡El entrante y la salsa del plato principal eran un desastre! El curry verde tailandés tenía grandes trozos de piña y formas cuadradas de pollo que no sé si era pollo, solo sabía un poco. Todo fue puesto en la papelera, el peor que he tenido en Inverness. Nunca volveré ni recomendaré. ¡Culpa mía por pedir en un establecimiento muy pequeño con un menú enorme!

Alison el dueño del lugar es muy amable y atento. El lugar es bueno y todas las tiendas cerca, resto n bares. Alison hacen que nuestra estancia sea como una casa nos hizo muy buen desayuno! Ella siempre preguntar lo que queremos y cómo estamos, persona muy encantadora. Sus tortitas clásicas es el mejor! Tuvimos una agradable estancia que se pierda esta ciudad! :)

Just had a mix kebab and it was cold very greasy didn’t taste very nice. The spicy spuds was tasteless. Have had one from here for months and won’t recommend it to anyone.

Food never arrived despite app saying it has and the phone number provided is dead - suspect this is a bogus restaurant stealing money.

Good meal for both of us. Chips excellent. Only negative restaurant was slightly cold. Would certainly have a meal here again.

We stayed here for 4 nights, rooms and beds were very comfortable. Good place to stay if you have a car, but you'll need a taxi if you don't, because they don't have a shuttle. Breakfast was excellent, dinners were very good too. Very friendly and helpful staff.

This was a pretty good Indian restaurant in Inverness. It's not quite on the same level as the one in Edinburgh, but this is definitely worth a visit.

I visited Taste of India in Portree with my friends, and unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. Right from the entrance, one of the staff members was quite rude to us. Instead of seating us at a table, even though there was plenty of space available inside, we were handed the menu and asked to choose our dishes while waiting in the lobby. This unwelcoming behavior really spoiled the mood of our visit. We expected a much warmer and respectful service, especially from a place that seems popular. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this place based on our experience.

Passed this restaurant more than once during the tourists season as it is usually packed but as I expected on a foggy December night it was quiet. Decided on a two course winter deal that they offered and was amazed to find that it was not a restricted menu just a fantastic deal. I had Cullen skink as a starter and venison burger as a main which was served with a very generous portion of chips and salad. The service and the food were excellent I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Lovely staff very quick and professional

Ate here twice in a week. Once in bar area with dogs and once upstairs. Defo enjoyed the bar environment better - warmer and more relaxed. Food good in both locations x

Absolutely disgusting all over undercooked chicken
