Simply amazing. Great pleasant staff , ultra clean , great menu, food preparation and taste brilliant. I’m very hard to please , but this is one of the best places I’ve been to for some time. Keep doing what you do , formula is great.

Excellent and attentive welcome, good food, but after taking orders for starters and main course the staff seemed to forget we were there, we would have ordered a dessert if asked, but no one bothered. Staff seemed to switch off and were more interested in talking amongst themselves. A shame.

We attended the Taste of Scotland evening. It was excellent. The Master of Whisky was informative, entertaining and knows his subject. Thanks to the accordion player, piper and the singer whose voice is sublime. The accompanying meal matched the quality of the rest of the evening. And it worked really well because there weren't too many guests so everyone could participate- yes, even in the kilt wearing!! All in all well worth going to.

The food here is slightly on the expensive side, but it is unquestionably excellent. The langoustines, prawn linguini, bouillabaisse, and fish & chips that we had were all delicious, as was the “Ullapool mess” for dessert. The service was outstanding - we had a waiter who had the rare knack of always being there when you needed him, and not when you didn’t. He gave excellent recommendations for both the wine and the post-prandial whiskies. Some of the best service I’ve encountered in a long time. Well worth a visit.

Chose fish and chips x 2 - £19.95 each . To say you can go wrong with fish and chips is a phrase I’ll never use again . Went in here because I've grown up around the area and know the Sea Forth used to be the place to go for good food, service and a great atmosphere. How times have changed!! Prices are absolutely extortionate for what you get. £17 for Mac and Cheese which was quite good but a small portion for the price, the garlic bread was strangely extremely greasy but the side salad was nice, if absolutely drenched in dressing. I've had better dinners much cheaper elsewhere. Upon arriving I asked a member of staff beside the "please wait to be seated" sign if they had a table for one and he didn't seem all that bothered if they got my custom or not as I was told "I've got this one left so if you don't want it it's the only one I've got. It's up to you" which seemed extremely rude to me, especially given that I would later pay over £23 for Mac and cheese and a half pint of coke. It seems like there was some sort of service charge added on as I can't believe half a pint of coke would be £6?!?!?! I was shocked at the price. No member of staff came back near me once I'd got my food to ask if everything was ok either which was pretty poor. All in all, would not recommend. I would have given this 3/5 instead of the 2 I gave it however, I thought I could have had much nicer food much cheaper somewhere else. I also had a chippy from the takeaway part of the restaurant and would give this 1/5 as often I've been in over the years and they have refused to take cards - only cash. Now when I went in they told me they only take cards!!! Not a problem this time as I actually didn't have any cash on me anyway so was hoping to pay by card. However, £12.95 for absolutely inedible fish and chips was not on. The chips were alright at best but you can definitely get better in the Delica-sea chippy a few doors down! The haddock I had was in this strange tasting batter but it was so greasy, I've never had a chippy that was absolutely swimming in grease like this before. It made me feel sick and I was unable to have more than a few bites of the fish and only ate the chips in the end unfortunately. Absolutely would not recommend. You're definitely better off going to Delica-sea chippy a couple doors down, I had a much better dinner there a few nights later and much better chips.

My husband and I visited here this week. We intended to eat here but opted to check it out first, and we're glad we did. First of all, I was hit by a dreadful stench the minute we walked into the restraunt, and we can't have been the only ones to notice it. It was consuming. We were literally just short of £14 for a pint and a bottle of cider. Talk about overcharging, its criminal. Then we were moved off a table and told our only options were to sit at the bar, on some stools, or outside if we weren't eating. Clearly they want you to but the overpriced food too. Not a chance, we went to the chipper down just opposite the ferry terminal on the main street, NOT the one attached to this money stealing hotel, and it was much preferable. We enjoyed delicious fish in chips, not to mention FRESH AIR on what was a stunning evening. Just the ticket. 🐟🌞🌄❤️

Having previously been to Ullapool and having sampled the fish suppers from both chippies rating them the best fish and chips ever we were really looking forward to another great portion of fish and chips and decided to use The Seaforth this time for our dinner as it was quite chilly outside and they allowed us to take our dog inside. We noticed it was £19.00 for fish and chips but my partner has always raved about the portion sizes and the quality of the fish so we were not too concerned. When our tea arrived the fish was pretty small, not very good and chips looked like they were the dregs from the last fry, small portion of peas and tarter sauce accompanied our fish and chips. We paid over £70 for one starter, 2 fish teas and 2 beers. Way over priced. I have no problem paying for something that is worth it but this was most definitely not! I try never to leave a negative review and perhaps we were just really disappointed in the meal after looking forward to it so much. I don't know if the Seaforth has been taken over with new owners since the last time we were in Ullapool but I really don't think we will be going back. On the plus side the service was good and the staff helpful and friendly enough. Just overpriced not very good food served..

Lovely welcome into the restaurant. It was busy but there was plenty staff to keep things running smoothly. Decor a wee bit tired. Paper peeling off the ceiling. The food was first class and not over priced. There were a few children running around while we were there. The staff did attempt to keep them away from the tables they had just cleaned, but I just wish when people take their children out to eat in such a lovely restaurant, they would keep them in check.

Glad we booked as was very busy. Had been given a table by the draughty door but the friendly staff were able to move us without any bother. Service was friendly with lots of staff buzzing about. Menu is not vast but has something for everyone, seafood based. Price wise it seemed to be in line with other places when we compared notes. Food itself was lovely, the fish and chips was a huge portion and hot and tasty! The haddock mornay was super cheesy but could still taste the haddock, no room for pudding! A nice busy place with good quality food.

We were up in Ullapool as part our road trip down the West Coast of Scotland. After pitching the tent we thought we'd head in to the town for some dinner and a few drinks to prepare us for the chilly night ahead. The first place we saw was the Seaforth and thought we'd head inside for some warmth and some grub. There was only one other table at the time, which wasn't surprising as it is out of season. We ordered a pint and some food and it came reasonably quickly. But this is where the positives ended unfortunately. The cheesy garlic bread starter was just a baguette with a mound of cheese on top and was likely bought from Tesco around the corner and fired off in the oven. The mains were not much better. My chicken burger was very dry, very bland and overall very disappointing. The fish and chips also very dry and tasteless, which is very surprising considering the same business owns the chippy next door. Despite the dry and tasteless food we had partially consumed, the hardest part to swallow was the fact that two courses each and one drink each amounted to £63. There was also a mandatory 10% gratuity. If this was peak summer period and the staff were running off their feet, I can see why this would be appropriate. It certainly was not like that on this occasion. Overall, I won't be back. The food was underwhelming, and the prices are just completely bonkers. We should've checked here first as there are plenty previous reviews that follow the same trend. Avoid.

After a long drive to Ullapool, we searched around for a suitable restaurant in which to celebrate our wedding anniversary and chose Seaforth. The people seated at the tables in the window and outside were a great advertisement. We were very glad to be served even though it was after 2pm. Thank you for operating extended hours. I had Cullen Skink for the first time. The saucy soup was delicious but the potatoes were not fully cooked, which spoiled the experience, but at least showed that they cook meals to order. My dessert was described on the menu as Scottish Tablet cheesecake, but that was quite misleading. It was basic cheesecake, covered with fruit coulis on a plate drenched in chocolate sauce, with very few crumbs of tablet, which I had been looking forward to so much. The fellows who served us were obliging and the space was pleasant.

Both of the dishes was tasty but both was quite small compering to similar restaurants in highlands which I visited so far. Prawns from special board was served only with chilli sauce which tasted like the one you can buy in Tesco and garlic sauce which I do not think was homemade. Sea bream was a main course but the size was like for fixed price lunch. In summary food was really nice but in my opinion It should be less expensive or the dish suppose to be bigger. Ten minutes later it occurred to me that the hadn’t a bottle chilled and were attempting to do so, so I suggested to the waitress that it would be better to have two of the small cold splits and around ten minutes later she seemed to agree with me that the waitstaff agreed and we were served the splits soon followed by excellent fish and chips.

I had low expectations but they were surpassed. There isn't a lot of choice in Ullapool and our preferred option was closed. This place has decent beer and the food was good if slightly pricey, but it's the tourist trap effect so you can't complain too much

Stopped here for a meal in the restaurant whilst travelling the NC500. I had a massive portion of delicious fish and chips, nice seating in the restaurant or plenty of seating outside on a nice day. Helpful and friendly staff. Will be back.

The soup of Sweet potato, onion and chilli was spot on, however the mussels were bland and under wellming and the steak only came with potatoes (mash, wife’s choice) and tomato, rump for £18.95??? Total £39.00 was expensive (money taken up front) for what was served up.

Helpful staff. Tasty food. Warm and relaxing atmosphere. Seemed to be popular with the 'locals' - always a good sign we find!

It’s a really nice bar with great staff. The bar sits bang opposite the ferry terminal. It was quiet the night I was in, but the good folk this far north observe the Lords day religiously, so to speak and it was March. The beer is good. The food is reminiscent of the chip shop they own next door, which was a little disappointing, as a location like this could do so much better. However, if you’re in for a beer, it’s just grand.

I had steak pie - too much for me, that is unusual! Price was reasonable for food and wine. A bit noisy but it was a bar meal.

The title says it all. I asked for the soup of the day described as “spicy bean soup”.

Pleasant enough tourist restaurant with nice bar food. Fairly expensive ... £4 for a pint of Belhaven Best seems well over the top.

Chosen for our evening meal as close to our hotel, which had not inspired us. Warm friendly welcome and food is good, but expensive. Service was excellent.

We only wanted a couple of drinks, like a tea,a lemonade and a pint.As a Senior Citize,I thought over eight pounds was a bit steep. These hyped up prices send people up the road or to the nearest supermarket.

Came here on business with a group of 5. Atmosphere was comfortable and busy. There was no room left inside so we sat outside under the covered area. I ordered the Steak pie and was happy with my meal. Reminded me of home cooking. There were no complaints from anyone at the table. Beers went down good as well. After dinner we went inside where a table had opened up. There was live music that started shortly after which was nice but far too loud for a business dinner so we left. Overall I would go back if ever in the area again. Favorite part about my stay was the live music. Worst part about the stay was having to leave due to loud music.

Visited on a lovely day...village was very quiet, limited choice for lunch. Sat down ordered drinks and given menu....quite shocked at pricing..manageress spotted my face and suggested the “soup& sandwich “ deal - at £9.75 a head....reluctantly agreed..soup arrived..barely lukewarm...sandwiches were basic to say the least....manageress kindly reheated soup..place was empty...she was pleasant enough...£25.50 for 2 soups and basic sandwiches....this place is set up for tourists..nice location but quality is nowhere near the cost...way too expensive....avoid

Popped in with about twenty work colleagues waiting for the ferry to Stornaway. Log fire was great and made for a lovely atmosphere. Had a choice of three lagers, a local brew, Czech and Japanese. Tried the foreign lagers and they were both really nice. Staff are really nice and polite

If you are looking for straight up decent pub grub, this is certainly a good option in Ullapool. Interior is a bit dark, but there’s a proper fire in the winter with comfy seats. If you have special dietary requirements don’t bother. The chef referred the waiter to the allergens menu and when nothing obvious was available (it looked like leaving off the sauce would have worked in many cases, but allergens menus won’t tell you that) no alternatives or adaptations were offered. Myself and my daughter had a plate of chips between us. At least she was happy!
