Absolutely fantastic fish and chips. I traveled here all the way from New Zealand because I heard that these are undoubtedly the best f&c on earth. I was not lied to. Frankie's should should be the Scottish capital. Shetland is worth visiting just for this. Get em in ya
Exceptional food, the restaurant here has to be one of the best in northern Scotland, the quality of the food coming out of that kitchen in an in an unassuming country hotel is an amazing surprise. If you’re in Aviemore, book in for dinner.
Delicious food BUT - not happy being charged £7 for 2 glasses of water, and a little more effort could have been put into the background music which sounded like radio one despite none of the customers looking like they were under 50.

Popped in with our two little dogs on Thursday lunch time. I had steak, the wife had the monk fish. Service was great and friendly and the even kindly gave our dogs some pork belly. Lovely people and food great 👍
Overall, we enjoyed the food and the staff were very nice. We especially liked the soup.
A few observations - the boba tea was a bit too sweet (would be good to offer different sweetness levels for all drinks, as I asked for my coffee to be less sweet), the bagel and wrap were a bit small and some nice decorations would enhance the atmosphere.
Wonderful experience in this historic house where so many famous people have stayed (King Charles, Elton John, Giel Camps, Tony Blair and many other royalties). It’s a true living monument with incredible staff that make you feel at home, whoever you are.

This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel. The place is magnificent and typically Scottish! The view from the room is splendid. The service is impeccable and the staff caring for you ensure that everything goes well. Dinner was excellent as was breakfast. We will definitely come back!
Stopped for a quick break on the way to Poolewe. Even though they were short-staffed, they produced a wonderful soup of the day (sweet potato) and the lightest tastiest cheese scones. Such friendly staff and excellent value for money. Would recommend a visit if you're in the area.
