12 Ness Walk, Inverness, IV3 5SQ, United Kingdom, Scotland
An outstanding hotel in a great and beautiful location in Inverness. The staff were simply fantastic, so friendly and helpful. Large spacious, modern rooms all right next to the river Ness. Would highly recommend a stay here!!!
First time visiting this restraunt. Pleasant surroundings outside and lovely dining area in conservatory area.
There were 5 of us here tonight, 19th February 2025. Quiet in restraunt though busier in bar area.
Service was great with friendly staff. There was a good choice on the menu and food was absolutely delicious.
We has steak pie, gammon steak, scampi, fish and chips and pizza. One of our party had starter of black pudding which he said was delicious too.
I will definitely go back and highly recommend this restraunt.
Booked two nights (Aug 10-12th) here as we were ending our Scotland trip, and it was a perfect place to finish.
Parking is provided in a lot or along the quiet street. It was a little confusing at first glance, because there are two buildings (across the street from each other) labeled "The Star Inn," and one of them had a sale sign on the outside.
After realizing one had a locked door, we headed to the other where we were greeted by locals and directed to the bar for service. It took a couple minutes for the bartender to finish up and greet us, but she was lovely and promptly checked us in, grabbed our keys, and showed us the way to our room across the street.
The first thing I noticed was the incredible smell! It smelled amazing, fresh, comforting...l considered asking how I could bring the smell back to the states. The walk in area, halls and room were spotless and cozy. The bed was crisp and fresh, and the bathroom was huge. Numerous fresh towels and toiletries were provided. There was also tea, water, a small fridge, a television, menus, WIFI, a small desk, lots of outlets for charging, and nice lighting.
The Inn is within walking distance to the water, and there are some small shops that weren't open on a Sunday. It was about 15 minutes of a drive into Inverness, and about 5 minutes from Inverness airport.
Would absolutely recommend staying here, we loved the small amount of time we did!

This is a special place, the food was amazing , the quality and presentation was just excellent. Party of 10 for my wife's birthday , there is no better place to eat in Thurso.
A very nice gallery. Be aware that despite historical reviews it no longer operates a cafe. Some really great local art, jewellery and small souvenir items.

The Rocpool Reserve was a real gem and handy as a base for exploring Inverness and its surrounds.
They even provided jellybeans in the lounge when we were visiting so we could sit around in the evenings and just enjoy the restful environment.
Their signature onsite restaurant Chez Roux was superb and lived up to its billing for both breakfast (their custom jams were magnificent) and dinner.
Our only regret was having only 3 days in inverness as the Rocpool Reserve was that good that we wanted to stay longer...
Was here in summer, just for lunch with a friend. I got some Cullen Skink and it was delicious, really enjoyed it.
The seating area is quite small and I felt claustrophobic being inside so sat outside as it was a bonnie day anyway. Staff were nice and friendly. Just the layout and how cramped it all feels kinda let's it down.
I think 3 stars 🌟 is fair here
