We went here specifically for a gluten free meal and found the menu online. The pre booked table was set out for the 3 of us in the bar before we arrived and we were welcomed at the bar and shown to our seats and handed the menu. Drinks order was taken quickly and the order arrived straight away. Food order for the 3 of us was taken and arrived with similar speed. The menu is fantastic if you are GF - we all ordered a starter and a main. The prawn and salmon cocktail was excellent but the highlight was the GF roast beef - the Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and gravy were all GF and really good. The roast lamb also looked good. All in all a great place to eat with tasty food.

We drove to Nairn from Inverness after viewing the menu online. After we sat down we were presented with a piece of paper with a menu that looked nothing like the one on the website. Very limited choice. When I queried this with the waitress I was palmed off with something along the lines of 'the website menu is what we might possibly have available'. In other words we can put everything and anything on or webpage menu but don't expect to get it when you arrive. Average food, good service just very limited choice.

Took my dad and husband to the Westerlea for my dad’s birthday. The food was absolutely superb. We didnt try the starters but the selection was excellent. Being a Sunday, there were a variety of Sunday roasts on offer along with other traditional and vegetarian options - something to suit all tastes. My dad and I chose roast beef with yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings. My husband had the roast turkey with cranberry sauce, kilted sausages, etc. The meats were very tender and the portion sizes were very generous. It was all so tasty that there were clean plates all round. The dessert selection was also fantastic and we chose sticky toffee pudding, cranachan cheesecake and xmas pudding with brandy sauce. All three desserts were delicious and the plates were clean once again. The cranachan cheescake was the best cheesecake I have ever tasted (and I’m fussy). The lunch was very reasonably priced, drinks were also reasonably priced and the hotel offers plenty of parking spaces. Chris is an excellent host and Tanya was very efficient and friendly when serving us. Very well done Westerlea hotel - we’ll definitely be back!!

Booked a table for early on a Friday evening although there was no need to as was very quiet. Food was very good and all home made. Ice cream could have been of a better quality as it was obviously a cheap brand and had ice through it, not smooth as meant to be. Still giving 5 stars as soup, main courses and other desserts were excellent. Staff very friendly.

We know the Tongue area very well, and like to eat locally, so it was obvious we would decide to eat at the Craggan, and i'm happy we did! The restaurant area is welcoming and clean, staff friendly, and the car park was easy even with a big van. The only problem was choosing from the menu! So many tasty things - i wish we had more time to visit again.. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we shared everything so i know it was all delicious. Thank you for making a rather wet evening so special..

I recently had the pleasure of spending a delightful day at Dores Inn, and I still find myself reminiscing about the experience six months later. Nestled along the shores of the iconic Loch Ness, this charming inn offers a perfect blend of stunning views, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely ambiance that sets the tone for a relaxing visit. The inn has ample seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it easy to find a cozy spot to enjoy the picturesque scenery. We opted for an outside table, and it turned out to be the best decision of the day. The views of the loch were absolutely breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for our meal. Speaking of the meal, I must rave about the food—simply sublime! I usually find coleslaw unappealing, but Dores Inn's homemade version was a game changer. It was fresh, flavorful, and complemented our dishes beautifully. Every bite was a testament to the culinary care that goes into their offerings. After our satisfying meal, we joined a Rib-Boat journey on the loch, which was an exhilarating way to experience the surroundings. The thrill of speeding across the water, combined with the breathtaking views of the loch and its mythical charm, made for an unforgettable adventure. As a memento of our day, I couldn't resist purchasing one of their handmade crochet teddies of Nessie. It's now a cherished keepsake that brings back fond memories of our visit. To wrap up our day, we took a leisurely walk along the shoreline. The tranquility of the loch, coupled with the stunning natural beauty surrounding us, was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Overall, Dores Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. From the lovely atmosphere and great views to the delectable food and friendly service, it’s a place I highly recommend. If you're looking for an exceptional day out near Loch Ness, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this gem. I still think about that wonderful day, and I can’t wait to return!

This was a lovely experience, the food was not ' swimming in grease' as i saw from another review, but it was great to see that the more recent reviews have been validated. We went here for my birthday at the end of october and honestly everything was really lovely . the service was great they were so friendly from the getgo, the charcuterie board we had for starter was very filling and diverse just wish they would have told us what the cheeses were ( i think the brie was from tain though it was familair) but thats a minor niggle that we had no info. the main courses were fab the skin on chips were AMAZING , and its a dog friendly place which we loved , we dont have dogs but we did get to pet some which made our day !
