This is now call the Cabot Highland. We were in the area and trying to find some food to have for dinner without having to head back into Inverness or having dinner at a Hotel. This popped up and was about ready to close when we arrived at 5:45. We walked in and asked if they could accommodate us. Everyone was very pleasant and assured us they could. We had the best meal of our trip. Not only was the dinner lovely and serve good but the view phenomenal. I had fried haddock with sweet potato fries and peas. Plenty of food and truly wonderful. My husband had a bowl of chili with beer. Nothing fancy just really good food, great service at a reasonable price. We would return.

This restaurant is so good that we booked our golf group of 20 there for both lunch one day and dinner another. Fantastic staff. Nice menu. Excellently prepared foods. And killer views out their dining room windows. You don't have to be a golfer to go there.

This is on my door step but I never go! This is something to put right in 2019!! The course is difficult if you stand there and smash the ball, it takes a while to realise you need to plot. When this happens you see what a fantastic layout it really is. Risk and reward but a joy. The clubhouse is welcoming and staff so nice, you don’t want to leave but I recommend you stop a while and enjoy this magnificent setting

Was lucky enough to play this golf course in July this year. What was even better the weather was amazing. It is links golf but not at its hardest fairways are generous and for most parts the greens are large. The pro shop is well stocked but a bit expensive. But if you can afford the high green fee it is a great day out.

This is an outstanding golfing experience. Every hole is spectacular. The views are magnificent, the practice facilities are first class, the clubhouse is very comfortable, the staff are wonderful and very friendly, and the course itself is just a delight to play, no matter what your handicap. Of all the courses we have played so far in the past 10 days in Scotland, this is easily the best. If you are planning a Scottish golfing tour, you must include Castle Stuart.

Pretty course, very difficult when windy and cold. The caddies were very friendly and were helpful with difficult shots. Unfortunately weather was not on our side and the round was rather cold being right off the ocean. Would like to come back at "high tide" as the ocean would be mere feet from the sides of the rough and some greens. Would recommend if going this far north to check into deals with this course and Royal Dornoch. We didn't have time for both and didn't know about the possibility until we got to Inverness.

My wife and I played this lovely course on 4th and 5th July . From start to finish we could not have enjoyed ourselves more. All staff, starting with meeting John on the way in , were very friendly and welcoming. We had breakfast and a snack lunch afterwards on both days . The views from the clubhouse and on the course are some of the best from any golf course in the world. As Scottish residents playing twice within seven days it is very affordable and really good value given the high standard. Fast greens and interesting contours beside most of the greens gave the ball some interesting directions. Latte or cappochino coffee in the clubhouse and the half way house would be a welcome addition to the filter coffee on offer, but that will not stop us returning. Castle Stuart is my wife's favourite scottish golf course and for once I completely agree ! Delighted with my Castle Stuart Polo shirt and cap . Running a tab for breakfast, half way house and meal after saves a lot of hassle . Well done Castle Stuart .

We went in the clubhouse restaurant for a bite to eat and a few drinks after our great round of golf. The service was fantastic and they have a great selection of food on the menu. We ordered the traditional red chili and the white bean/chicken chili with cheese and sour cream. They were very good and hit the spot. We had a Guinness and Bloody Mary as well. The views of the course and the Loch are wonderful. If you play at Castle Stuart you should really stay and indulge in a few.

Made an unplanned stopped here and was extremely impressed with both the course and staff. Spectacular holes situated along the hillside coastline, wanted to stop and take a picture every hole. Recommend a caddy the first time four course knowledge. Undulating putting greens are impressive. Golf course staff very friendly helpful and professional making our visit well worth the stop. Clubhouse restaurant food was both good and fairly priced. Golf course a must stop for anyone visiting and you'll want to come back to play the next day!

This is a newer links course that we enjoyed on our golf trip to Scotland. The holes run along the Moray Firth, creating opportunities for unbelievable scenery. You can look back and see the bridge crossing the Moray Firth just outside of Inverness. We played with some mixed weather; it is very "squally" meaning that each weather incident was 5-10 minutes in length. Grass was in great condition; more similar to US fairways than at other Scottish courses. Challenging greens, but not depressingly so. Putting used extensively off the greens; on approaches. Some pot bunkers with steep walls, but most are not really in play. There is gorse everywhere; beautifully in bloom in April. Not so beautiful if your ball lands in there! Fairways are reasonable to hit with your drive. Our caddie, Glen, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and experienced. Many holes run along the beach. Play time was 3 hours 30 minutes; there were relatively few golfers.

But it all starts with the drive up and the clubhouse is stunning the reception great and the facilities amazing The course is excellent although fairly tough and the greens fast and hard, you need to be cute to score well, it is set up for the pro's and back spin would helpEvery hole has a different view over Inverness or the Moray FirthTry this, it's up there in the top courses

My friends and I visited Castle Stuart Golf in early July and enjoyed every minute of the experienceThe course is suitable for all levels of golfers with wide fairways and challenging greens.Condition was first class with fast undulating greens and tightly grassed fairways. Being new it has a little to develope in terms of maturity but that in NO way takes from the enjoyment factor. We played over two days and had wind, light rain and beautiful sunshine. Each facet of the weather gave the views from the course a new dimension. The vistas up the Moray Firth and accross the mountains are BREATHTAKING so if you have a non golfer tagging along they will also enjoy every minute.Trolleys and buggies are available and while undulating there are no 'killer hills or long walks between tees.Dont forget to stop for a coke and hot dog at the halfway house

Given how new Castle Stuart is, I was surprised to find it in top condition - even in a steady rain. The facility (locker rooms, restaurant, pro shop) are incredible with spectacular views of the Moray Firth. The course itself is challenging, but more forgiving than the Aberdeen courses. The rough was high, but not terribly thick, so finding your ball was not an ordeal. The staff is very accommodating. I needed to rent clubs and was set up with brand new RocketBallz woods and irons.

We know the Tongue area very well, and like to eat locally, so it was obvious we would decide to eat at the Craggan, and i'm happy we did! The restaurant area is welcoming and clean, staff friendly, and the car park was easy even with a big van. The only problem was choosing from the menu! So many tasty things - i wish we had more time to visit again.. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we shared everything so i know it was all delicious. I recently had the pleasure of spending a delightful day at Dores Inn, and I still find myself reminiscing about the experience six months later. Nestled along the shores of the iconic Loch Ness, this charming inn offers a perfect blend of stunning views, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely ambiance that sets the tone for a relaxing visit. The inn has ample seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it easy to find a cozy spot to enjoy the picturesque scenery. We opted for an outside table, and it turned out to be the best decision of the day. The views of the loch were absolutely breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for our meal. Speaking of the meal, I must rave about the food—simply sublime! I usually find coleslaw unappealing, but Dores Inn's homemade version was a game changer. It was fresh, flavorful, and complemented our dishes beautifully. Every bite was a testament to the culinary care that goes into their offerings. After our satisfying meal, we joined a Rib-Boat journey on the loch, which was an exhilarating way to experience the surroundings. The thrill of speeding across the water, combined with the breathtaking views of the loch and its mythical charm, made for an unforgettable adventure. As a memento of our day, I couldn't resist purchasing one of their handmade crochet teddies of Nessie. It's now a cherished keepsake that brings back fond memories of our visit. To wrap up our day, we took a leisurely walk along the shoreline. The tranquility of the loch, coupled with the stunning natural beauty surrounding us, was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Overall, Dores Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. From the lovely atmosphere and great views to the delectable food and friendly service, it’s a place I highly recommend. If you're looking for an exceptional day out near Loch Ness, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this gem. I still think about that wonderful day, and I can’t wait to return!

This was a lovely experience, the food was not ' swimming in grease' as i saw from another review, but it was great to see that the more recent reviews have been validated. We went here for my birthday at the end of october and honestly everything was really lovely . the service was great they were so friendly from the getgo, the charcuterie board we had for starter was very filling and diverse just wish they would have told us what the cheeses were ( i think the brie was from tain though it was familair) but thats a minor niggle that we had no info. the main courses were fab the skin on chips were AMAZING , and its a dog friendly place which we loved , we dont have dogs but we did get to pet some which made our day !
