Mary Queen of Scots Exhibition - absolutely fabulous. Extremely well put together and displayed. The Harrison family are lovely. Would highly recommend a visit. Whilst we did not eat at the cafe it all looked really good and was busy with both locals and tourists. A must....

Lovely cheery welcome to this quirky cafe. Enjoyed our soup and sandwich combo. Flapjack had to be shared it was so big. We plan to return when next in the area

Pool House Cafe is a must on your travels! Situated by the side of Loch Ewe, it is the perfect destination, offering delicious and freshly prepared home-made treats including scones, bacon rolls, sandwiches, salads, savouries and delicious cakes and bakes. You can either sit inside or outside to enjoy the wonderful loch views next to the well-tended pretty gardens. We chose to sit outside as it was a lovely sunny day and very warm. My husband had a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich, and I had a cheese and onion toastie, both served with salad and coleslaw, and for desserts we enjoyed mango and strawberry sorbets. All spot on! The staff were lovely and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. All in all - absolutely first class!

We were really looking forward to trying out this cafe - an intriguing proposition in an historic and interesting house. There were some good things - the coffee and bacon rolls were fine. However…time to get rid of the racist statues, whether they’re part of the history of the house or not. The service was very odd: 2 ladies, one of whom didn’t really speak and seemed scared of the other one. The speaking lady was distinctly unfriendly to all but one of the tables - removing cups while people were still drinking from them, telling a family that they couldn’t come in for drinks despite lots of empty tables, and refusing to give out the wifi password. Such a shame, because the house itself is fascinating, but it was a really odd experience and not one we’d repeat.

What a lovely welcoming place this is and the dining room is magnificent with its historic atmosphere and artefacts surrounding the tables. The vegetarian tart was absolutely delicious and there was a good range of other casual lunch options inluding soup and sandwiches. We loved the elegance of the place and the good, friendly service.

I've eaten in so many places around the globe - some places the service is better than the food, other places the food are better than the service. So it's very rare to find an establishment where the food and the service are both 5 star. I'd never have thought I'd experience such a rarity in a small Scottish village called Poolewe. Everything about our visit was exceptional - the service, the staff and the food were all exceptional. Thanks to the Pool House for making our second trip back to my homeland this year a memorable one. Oh, I forgot to mention, the place itself is a wonder - if you visit, worth checking out its history and read the material available in the cafe and I must apologise, we had eaten all our food before I thought it would have been good to get a photo for TA - whoops.

We had a quick coffee after a (excellent) tour of Pool House. This persuaded us to return the next day for lunch. Good food and friendly staff in a remarkable room.

Great range of home made cakes including gluten free options. The passion fruit and coconut frangipani was delicious. Jam for the scones comes in 5 different flavours, all home made. Friendly welcoming staff and a quirky cafe interior.

A lovely little vegan cafe in the heart of Fort William high street. As a Muslim family we were really grateful for the existence of this cafe, as otherwise halal options were very limited in the town especially for breakfast. Three of us had the lentil soup with sourdough bread which was really filling. My dad had the cornish vegetable pasty which was also quite tasty, and my brother had the a waffle with fruit and cream - I was surprised at how soft and fluffy the waffle was, having not been very well acquainted with vegan food before! The drinks were also really good too - I loved the hazelnut hot chocolate especially! Plus, the focus on sustainability was very welcome e.g. details of where key ingredients such as coffee beans come from. In general the food is a bit on the pricey side, but given the focus on sustainability as well as how tasty everything was, it was definitely worth it. Thank you Wildcat!

I visited this coffee every morning for four days at 7 am. I bought latte coffee and Almond croissants. Both were delicious. The croissant were a mix of Scottish and French baking and we are superb.

The restaurant was quite cool (even with a jacket) and the food (seafood platter) wasn't really hot either. For the price, the taste is absolutely below average, but you can afford it because it's a tourist hotspot.

We LOVE this cafe and gallery space. My daughter is continuing her mission of trying every hot chocolate she can find in Scotland and after many years she has concluded that this cafe makes the very best one! The staff are really lovely too - friendly and welcoming - and we love the space. It's a real treasure trove full of interesting things every time we visit. Highly recommended 👌
