We had the most amazing experience with Good Highland Food as the caterers for our wedding at 'The Traitors' Ardross Castle in August 2024! From the very beginning, they went above and beyond to make our day special. Yvonne, Mike, and their whole team were so friendly, helpful, and full of fantastic advice, guiding us through menu tastings and helping us select dishes that truly reflected our tastes and would delight our guests. They made the whole planning process enjoyable and stress-free. On the big day, the team’s professionalism and warmth were on full display. They interacted with our guests in such a genuine and engaging way, making everyone feel comfortable and welcomed. I was a guest this weekend, where the catering was provided by Good Highland Food. They certainly lived up to their name, one of the best wedding meals I have had.

I can't say enough good things about Good Highland Food and the quality of their food, service and the amazing staff. They catered our destination wedding, and it was everything and so much more than we expected. I still get compliments about the food and service more than a year later! Yvonne went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect on our big day, she was incredibly thorough and responsive and extremely patient working with us from abroad. I cannot rate Yvonne and the Good Highland Food team highly enough. If I could give 10 stars I would. My husband and I received top notch food, service, and communication from Good Highland Food for our wedding at Achnagairn Castle in Jan 2024, having made all arrangements remotely from our home in Australia. Their menu has an abundance of choices to build the perfect event catering at a very reasonable price. Our guests could not stop talking about the Haggis Tatties and Neeps and the Beef dish. The parfait was also out of this world. Being the professional that she is, Yvonne also came to our rescue as another caterer had let us down for our pre-wedding evening rehearsal dinner and Good Highland Food jumped right in without question with 3 days notice, serving up a lovely Lasagne buffet. They also helped us by cutting up our cheese tower and providing a serving table and condiments so we didn't have to worry about it on the day. All their waiting staff were super professional, very elegant and suited our black tie wedding theme. Honestly, I'd pay for another wedding just to eat their food again. They were the perfect caterers and took care of every detail, making the whole process stress free. Having worked with Yvonne and Mike on a number of occasions now I can honestly say that nothing is too much trouble for them. The teams they bring together for both kitchen and service are superb, friendly and work to an incredibly high standard. Guests are always delighted with the food and compliments to the chef are standard. Highly recommend and will be working with GHF again in the future.

A feast for the eyes! Good Highland Food catered for my husband and I’s wedding over Hogmanay, and we were blown away! The event itself was over a two day period at the very beautiful Achnagairn Castle. Good Highland Food created the most stunning three course menus and evening buffets both days for around 120 guests. The full catering team, and the owners Mike & Yvonne were just incredible. So friendly, warm, and super professional. And the food?! Just the highest standard imaginable. Locally sourced, and delicious. Would we recommend? 1000%

We were lucky enough to have Good Highland Food at our wedding in August 2022 at Fasque Castle. The whole team were incredibly professional and the first class service spoke for itself! Mike & Yvonne were so accommodating with our requests and preferences — from the moment we enquired to the on the day service - everything was just perfection and above and beyond what we could have hoped for. And that’s before I mention the food! Wow - we knew the menu sounded mouthwatering beforehand but what was served in front of us was nothing short of luxury. Where to even begin. We had the absolute pleasure of having Good Highland Food cater our marquee wedding in nethybridge. From meal planning to tasting to the execution of the day was more than we could have ever expected. From timings to service was like clockwork. All the staff very professional at what they do and the compliments are still coming in about the food (especially the fillet of beef and pear and butterscotch cheesecake.) It was so good we had to have a bbq the following day and it was absolutely incredible. Could not recommend highly enough made our perfect day so much more special. Good Highland Food Company cooked a selection of delicious dishes for me when I rented a large holiday home with lots of guests to save me having to do all the meals. From first contact they were accommodating, friendly and helpful. All the dishes I chose were delivered in serving dishes with minimum cooking to finish them off or could be frozen. Everything was delicious. One friend who I have never seen eat pudding had a helping of every one over the course of the week. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Good Highland Food. My fiance and I recently enquired about having some wonderful looking and sounding food for our wedding reception of about 25 people. We are having the reception at my parents home due to many of the guests being elderly and still weary of large group interactions due to their own health and Covid still lingering around. We are both nurses having spent the last two years avoiding seeing our grandparents, great aunts and uncles and our vulnerable family members due to this - so our wedding is the first family get together for some time. When we initially enquired about catering, we had a quick response and selected our menu choices and were awaiting the quote. However, when we explained that we would be providing our own alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests we were very quickly told they would not do the job as we weren’t hiring a bar service. The majority of our guests do not drink due to health reasons, so tea/coffee (which we asked for) and our own supplies of J20’s or fresh juices would have been fine for them. A token one or two bottles of wine for those that drink would have been enough. A drinks service was wholly not required for our wedding. Unfortunately, due to this our wedding has been dismissed as an option for catering. It felt very much than their aim was for as much money as possible from a bar rather than providing canapes, a sit down meal and tea/coffee and evening hot rolls. It would have been redundant as the bar would have been unused. If you don’t drink for personal or religious reasons I would avoid this company.

unfortunately they let us down with a week to go after having booked three months ago for my husbands 50th birthday. very poor communication, and we had to chase several times via email, phone and face book.which was a real shame as we were recommended and the menu did look lovely.

Very good service and catering for our wedding at Glentruim. Can’t recommend highly enough. We went for a tasting beforehand to confirm our menu and Mike also recommended a great red wine that we ended up buying for our guests. All our guests thought the food was great also! One of the highlights of our day.

Outstanding. Service and food. Everything cooked to an exceptional standard and quality. Over 60 venison fillets all cooked so they were tender and still pink in the middle. So delicious. Vegetables never overcooked. Presentation beautiful. Service seamless. I couldn't recommend highly enough.

Good Highland Food was the perfect caterer for our wedding weekend. They provide both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding dinner. They were always there on time and set everything up with no problem. The food was fantastic both nights. We highly recommend the vegan casserole, the butternut squash curry, and the roasted potatoes. The servers were also excellent, attentive, and kind. Communication was always easy and Good Highland Food really helped make our wedding weekend a fairy tale.

We used Good Highland Food to cater our Wedding Day and would highly recommend. The service and food were both completely amazing. Everything from the quality of the food to the professionalism and appearance of the waiting staff was impeccable. People did not stop talking about it on the evening or the days after; It was really superb. I should also add they were extremely helpful from the moment we contacted them to the Wedding day. We had to change Wedding venues due to Covid and they were really supportive throughout that difficult period. I'd definitely recommend to others.

My husband and I were married in a small ceremony on 31 October 2020. Yvonne and Mike catered a wonderful gourmet meal as wedding breakfast for just the two of us, and were happy to deliver the meals as well as collect the crockery afterwards. The three-course wedding breakfast was fantastic and the portions were generous. Yvonne even went above and beyond by stepping in as a witness to our little ceremony. We are planning a vow renewal in 2021, which Good Highland Food will be catering. We are very much looking forward to a menu tasting and their catering for a far larger party next year! We cannot recommend them enough for catering for a group of any size, no matter how small or large.

Amazing! We spent a week celebrating our wedding in a remote part of Scotland and they catered the entire event. They went above and beyond, making sure everyone (many dietary restrictions) had what they needed. They remembered little details and were such a joy to be with for a week. They helped us design a menu with our preferences and nothing was ever too much trouble. This is a company that is so professional but at the same time so personal, so you get the best of both worlds. When it came to the food all we can say is Wow, the food was absolutely stunning and delicious and on par with any top restaurant out there. You know the food must be good when every single guest at the wedding commented on how good it was. Mike and Yvonne catered for both the Friday night before the wedding and the Saturday the day of the wedding and not only was the food exceptional but so was the service that they provided. We cannot say enough good things about this catering company in Inverness. Our group of 8 rented a castle nearby and asked Good Highland Food to serve 2 meals cooked on site and to deliver one prepared meal for us to serve ourselves. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I mean... the food was great!! They also delivered basics (coffee, juice, eggs, etc) for us to have available in the kitchen. On top of these catering services, they suggested and helped organize taxis and tours during our stay. Mike and Yvonne, the proprietors, were friendly and responsive to our every need. We hired Good Highland Food for our wedding in Cromarty last May after we were guests at another wedding they had catered for - it was the best food we'd ever had at a wedding and we quickly booked them for our own. Mike and Yvonne managed the event professionally from start to finish, including a tasting at their house and a site visit the day before the wedding. On the day the food and their organisation was outstanding and we've lost count of the number of guests who've since mentioned to us how good the food was - in particular the sticky toffee pudding. I'd have no hesitation in hiring Good Highland Food for another event and hope we can attend another wedding they cater in the future!

Mike and the team put on a grand spread for our wedding in Cromarty, and the service was fantastic. All the guests were very happy - we had a large number of compliments about the starter and main courses in particular (highland antipasti and family style roast beef & venison).

When helping our son and his fiance plan their wedding last summer we all agreed that wedding breakfasts leaves lasting impressions and that ours should be as memorable as possible. We chose Good Highland Food because we had heard excellent reports and we knew that they had catered for weddings in Clashmore's Carnegie Hall before and understood its quirks. I had also come across the company when working at Aldourie Castle and at business events elsewhere and been very impressed. When we arrived at the Hall after the wedding ceremony everything worked like clockwork. Yvonne and her staff oversaw the drinks and bar, served the food calmly and professionally, and cleared everything away with the minimum of fuss. They were warm and friendly and their customer care couldn't have been better. However, most memorable of all was the food. Creating a meal on time and perfectly synchronised for around 60 people in a village hall was in itself remarkable. Creating such a fantastic meal - especially the venison - was phenomenal. Five months later guests are still talking about the food and we cannot praise Good Highland Food strongly enough.

Great events catering company. Fantastic food

Food was lovely, service staff were amazing. However, the only hitch in our whole wedding day was walking in on the manager Yvonne unprofessionally having a go at my bride for our guests having not spent enough money on the bar. The bar staff went home earlier than agreed due to this, leaving guests a little shy of alcohol during our low key village hall wedding. Also, Yvonne cleared the alcohol we had bought ourselves for our guests from the tables and sold it back to them. A little disgusted.

We spent a recent week at a lovely home in the Highlands and had 3 meals catered by Good Highland Food. Michael and his team could not have been more pleasant, accessible, flexible, and professional, while the food could not have been more delicious. They went above and beyond in making appropriate wine pairing suggestions, as well as providing informative background on the dishes selected. I only wish we could get such delightful service in New York! I wouldn't consider hiring anyone else., should we have the good fortune to revisit the Highlands.

Good Highland Food were the missing piece to our wedding day puzzle. I was a Bride that didn't want to look like 'a bride' or have a 'traditional' hotel wedding. We didn't want to have a 'wedding breakfast' that was boring and cliched and most of all wanted great quality, highland produce that represented our (good) taste and love of food. This is where Yvonne, Mike and their wonderful team came in... As soon as I met them at Achnagairn House Wedding Fair, I knew that they had something really special and were very different to other caterers that we had come across. Their ideas inspired us to have a rather delicious platter of Highland anti pasti with locally sourced meats, cheeses and breads; right up our street! To say it was amazing is an under statement, after our initial tasting with Mike and the Head Chef, we didn't stop talking about it for days. Our main course of venison stew with roasted beetroot and baby potatoes was served 'family style' where everyone helped themselves to encourage informality. It was such a hit with our family and friends that it was mentioned numerous times in our guestbook.! Our dessert of pear creme brulee with shortbread was my husbands choice whilst I opted to have mini cheese burgers as our canapes, both delicious and both very personal to us! Mike even went out of his way to accommodate Chris' love of locally brewed ales by sourcing his favourite beers to stock the bar with. As someone who works within the wedding industry, I know how hard it can be to find the right suppliers. And this is why I recommend GHF to every one of my clients simply because they are superb at what they do; good highland food. Yvonne, Mike and their team could not have been more professional and charming and made us so incredibly happy that we had chosen such a great catering company. Thank you again! We used Good Highland Food Ltd for our wedding, in a marquee at a private venue in Easter Ross. The food was good, and the service to tables in the marquee was good too, or at least so thought a friend who was a guest and is a manager in hospitality. But there were things they let us down on: - they left us with 2 land-rovers full of garbage, not sorted for recycling, and which they did not clear up, which meant that we had do it for ourselves once back from honeymoon. When I asked them about it after they day was over (and obviously after everything had been paid), they said, "no, we don't take care of that for you, that's your responsibility". My wife and I are not that fussy, so we just did it, but let's just say that food waste doesn't get more pleasant when left outside for 2 weeks, and that fishing plastics, cans, cardboard and glass out of black bin bags (the dump wont take unsorted rubbish) wouldn't have been our choice of post-honeymoon / back-to-normal-life activity... - they had agreed to come the day before, to ensure they knew where everything was, but they didn't, which lead to... - the canapés serving was late and poorly thought out, meaning that many guests told me afterwards that they didn't realise there were canapés at all - them not serving the creme de cassis, brought specially from France, with the champagne; - furthermore, the champagne itself was served straight from the cupboard (thankfully, it was cold outside, so I don't think people minded too much, and we had some ushers serving properly chilled champagne from somewhere else). Charging corkage when they didn't handle the bottles correctly to start with is just not right; - I despise the bottled water industry up here, where we have perfectly good water, and had told GHF that beforehand. But because they did not come on the day before to confirm everything was in order, on the day of the wedding they were apparently not happy with the water supply we had given them (despite having the supply checked beforehand, and despite them managing to serve free water in bottles at the tables for dinner, and apparently refilling them from the supply given), and thus were selling plastic water bottles (500ml for £1) to our friends and families... These things would have been OK if they had been priced as a company who try their best but who knew they were pushing it to take on something this big (240 adult day guests). My wife and I, and her family, having liked them when we met, I'm sorry to say it, but in that we found it difficult to figure out how to handle our wedding catering, and found it hard to find reviews on the options, I felt I should write something, so others (and GHF themselves) can learn from our mistakes. GOOD BITS - good food, served by people who obviously have a passion for it - well-handled table service BAD BITS - left rubbish for us to deal with - poorly organised in run up, leading to - poor handling of the champagne, and non-serving of cassis (they apparently didn't know where it was) on the day - inadequate serving of the canapés - priced as a premium service, but unfortunately not really living up to it. In summary - they really do serve good food; but their price-point is just too high for the service provided. But if they improve their service, deal with the rubbish they produce, and perhaps hire an administrator to be more organised in the run up to such a big engagement, they could well be a Great Highland Food company; and regardless, we wish them all the best for the future.
