Waterside Cafe in Highland

Lovely lunch on a Sunday walk. The only place in Lochcarron on Sunday that is open. Food was delicious and the staff were lovely. Sat outside and enjoyed some rare April sunshine

Great selection of teas and treats. A good place to stop for a moment of relaxation before continuing your journey. I recommend trying the scones (the best I've ever eaten).

Nestling among the waterfront cottages in the picturesque village of Lochcarron lies the Waterside Cafe. The food is very nice and served by lovely staff. The cakes and pastries looked amazing Comfortable interior- clean and tidy with various touristy items for sale. Would recommend a visit to the cafe if in the area.

Absolutely lovely owners, great staff, food and coffee. The menu rotates regularly and has great combinations. Good vegan and gluten free options as well.

Lovely Café nestled in between the houses looking over the loch. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Coffee was lovely! And the sausage roll was the biggest and best I'd ever had!!! Would recommend even if just passing through.

A welcome pit stop for lunch driving the NC500. The food was really nice and the owners/staff also very friendly and welcoming.

Arrived after a soggy ride, parking is opposite the cafe with a lovely lake view. Was only a pit stop whilst waiting for my friend to arrive so was a cake and cuppa for us. Omg this cheesecake was so yummy. Well worth the money and taking the time to indulge.

Food was excellent! Great sandwiches and also had a smoothie that was delicious.

Literally like it's name, a cafe at the waterside, except it comes with really good breakfast, cakes dessert and coffee. A must try of their avocado toast with egg and their Bagel!!

Travelling the NC500 in September, options on the section between Shieldaig and Inverness for breakfast seemed to be limited. Having finally found the waterside cafe, it was extremely busy with limited seating. It was a long wait for the food, but worth it.

We really loved this cafe, it's a gem. Great atmosphere and the staff were all absolutely lovely. We enjoyed the food very much - particular shout out to the delicious vegan cakes and scones! It was great (and a difficult choice!) to have so many options. It was also lovely how kind the staff were to our dog, who very much enjoyed the treats and attention (and the chance to show off her tricks)! Thank you to our favourite cafe in the area!

Awesome service! The kitchen was closed when we arrived, but they were happy to make us 3 dishes, coffee and beer.

Just stopped off for a hot drink, ended up having a snack as well. Scone and strawberry tart lovely, top marks! Some other food came out to other customers, looks like we need to come back again. Very friendly staff who can't do enough for you, lovely idea behind the cafe as well. Dog friendly, can't fault the place at all.

A lovely cafe on the main street of Lochcarron. We stopped for breakfast and I was delighted as they offer Gluten free options, for breakfast, lunches and a good selection of cake! And our pup managed a treat too. Service was good.

Stumbled upon this place by accident, but I'm glad we did! The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. We didn't feel rushed and were given time to decide on what to have and ask any questions we had. They are dog friendly inside but also have an outside area. I loved the environmentally friendly choices they have made simple things like their hand towels and the takeaway cups!

Lovely full English breakfast and nice range of coffees and treats like Shortbread and fudges.

I was searching for the perfect place to let my boyfriend eat the perfect scones (with cream and jam) and this was definitely it!! We also ate some delicious breakfast, so we were totally ready again to continue our roadtrip. You could see the love the owners had for this place and that made the experience even better.

Best roll on fried egg. Disappointing that they couldn't muster up a roll on scrambled egg. Delicious cappuccino.

Stopped by on a weekend trip over to the West coast to visit family. What a great place! The perfect view from the Cafe, friendly staff and good service. We ordered the Smoked Salmon Salad, which was delicious, came with plenty Salmon, olives and crunchy salad. The Gluten Free toastie was also excellent, and a good portion also. My Daughter enjoyed her bacon roll very much! All round lovely wee place to visit, the staff were very friendly. We'll definitely be back!

I have been using this cafe for many years when coming up from Cornwall on my motorcycle, but first time with new owners Lisa and Steve who are nice and friendly also had a nice chat with there daughter Emma who is a lovely friendly young lady, I had a pot of tea and a delicious slice of coffee and walnut cake which went down a treat. hopefully see you all next year.

Quick stop on our drive through to Inverness. The food came out quick and was some of the best value for money we had for a while. Large portions and everything was delicious. The coffee deserves a special mention as it was excellent. They also have gluten free options.

Wow, the 'New' management have utterly transformed this cafe (had somewhat underwhelming experience here couple of years ago)! Everything they do, they do excellently: the service/hospitality, the cakes and of course superb coffee. The scenery is just a bonus. Suffice to say Waterside is now a definitive stopover on any journey up to the NW Coast.

Stopped for some coffee, left with a stunning scone too. Staff were lovely and loved the attention to eco-friendly options too!

They have a great delicious coffee and very tasty breakfast. Excelent service and amazing views from the terrace. Good price and excelent products.

We usually stop here when returning from applecross. Great breakfast and service, plus a nice view of the lake. Just love sitting outside weather permitting.

A lochside gem. Recent new management, a more upmarket experience, fine coffee and top quality food. Wet biker and wet dog friendly. Superb views across the Loch. Be sure to stop here as you travel your route.

Nice for a good lunch, little bit more expensive that good cafés back in Glasgow but that is normal up north of Scotland. The simple menu of toasties were really nice and fresh salad too. We enjoyed our lunch and was good for a treat on a holiday in area.

Some of the best food, cheesecake and coffee around. So tasty! If you are in the area, I highly recommend you make a visit. You won't be disappointed

This small cute cafe was very near to our stay at Strathcarron. Cafe faces the huge lochcarron. Loch is “lake” in English. On our route to applecross pass, we found this cafe. Reached a bit late to gget the English breakfast, but staff was very kind to make this for us, which made our day more sweet and energetic. We ordered lentil soup as well with freshly brewed coffee. We really had a good time there. Highly recommended place. Parking: yes, roadside Toilets: yes, inside the cafe

Lovely cafe with friendly staff. Located on the water front view large windows that look out. Archive images of Loch Carron on the walls add to the atmosphere. Really tasty excellent chicken bagel and salad

What a lovely little cafe! The stew melted in my mouth, just what I needed on a rainy day. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, dilly the parrot was also very handsome💖 stop in for a cuppa if you are passing!

Loved the Waterside cafe, called on our way to Skye and on our return. Everyone was friendly, great coffee, the food was lovely, had salad on our first visit and the highlander on our second, highly recommend. Dog friendly.

Excellent find here! They have a good breakfast and lunch menu and a awesome selection of teas. I opted for the pancakes which tasted just as nice as they looked. My wife got a chicken sandwich which she said was also very good. We had to takeaway a couple of cakes. One being the red velvet and the other banana and blueberry. Both of which were delicious. The red velvet had a hint of nutty flavour which was nice. Customer service was excellent. They were all very friendly. It also didn’t seem too expensive which is a bonus! If you are around this neck of the woods be sure to stop by.

A wonderful place for a rest in the Scottish wilderness. The sandwiches are so good, it's out of this world. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The interior is functional with a nice window counter for single traveller.

Absolutely lovely very friendly and smiles all round

My Girlfriend and I had 2 Scones and 2 cappuccino's yesterday. It was delicious and we had a great time. We were adviced to visit the Bealach na Ba with our Land Rover, and so we did. This was a great tip! We can recommend everyone to do the same. Thanks for a wonderful memory!
