The best restaurants in Maryfield Dundee City Central Scotland

Been in here before for drinks but had food for the first time today. Opted for the steak pie, it was outstanding. Nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely go back here again to eat.

Delicious food, perfectly spiced so I can still taste the ingredients, but with a kick. I got the Ram Suya. I could tell how much heart and precision the chef puts into the food. Also a great host! (Sorry photo is half eaten—it was that good that I forgot to snap a pic!)

Loved it. You won't regret the Tapas. Every mouthful was pure joy! Service extremely friendly too.

Great friendly staff, good ambience, DELICIOUS food!! Loved the starters, hot pepper soup was yum, delicious mains, LOVED the desserts -awesome overall!! Always love coming back, drinks are great! Came back here again in 2025, food was great but disappointed to see them charge for extra sauce etc.

Fantastic food!! Amazing service and super friendly staff. An amazing mix of Nigerian food and their twist on more traditional “UK” food. Totally 100% visit if you can!!

Really great coffee ☕️ however expected more of the bagel. Ordered a chicken mayo bagel 🥯 which I generally know as a hot meal however it came and the chicken mayo was ice cold which I really didn't enjoy or expect.

One of the best tapas I've had, staff were lovely, food was tasty, we picked 3 dishes each, plenty for a dinner all in a relaxed atmosphere, can't wait to go back.

We were regular customers at this restaurant due to staff being very nice to us and food being good. The waiters are exceptionally friendly. A couple of times our big families celebrated events like weeding anniversaries, graduation, etc. In the past couple of months though, the customer service went below McDonald's. I have never seen anything like that, and we will never return. The owner/manager(?) is extremely rude. Last month we had an engagement anniversary and booked a place. We waited for food for 30 min, then ate 10 minutes. Right after all plates were taken and we ordered a dessert, we were approached by the guy and told we needed to go. Pointing at wealthy people at the door, he said: "You finished, can you go? You see, people are waiting there?". We told we ordered a desert and we had a booking too. He then said we needed to wait for a desert (which turned out to be a takeaway) near the kitchen. He relocated us to a shared table so that the wealthy-looking couple can sit at our spot. I have never been insulted like that on my special day. Next time we were silly enough to return, again on a special occasion. A quarter of the restaurant was empty, and we asked for a table. The same guy approached us and said there is no space for today. Okay. I waited until the next couple with no booking was seated, and tried to ask why, but the same guy said we had to leave. We were silly. Very silly. So we returned. This time half of the restaurant was empty. I was so happy to see that, and the waitress seemed to have a table. When she picked up the menu, that same guy let her go, approached us and said it was all booked. Guess what? We were watching how other couples were seated with no booking. TO THE OWNER: Who do you think you are to insult me and my family on special occasions? Our 4 families will never return to your restaurant again. TO CUSTOMERS: I understand you might want to choose this place to eat. But are you from a working class too? Did you have a tiring day at work? Do you and your family deserve to be treated this way? Your moms and dads? Your children? Your loving partner?

It's an interesting bar design. It's more of a youthful, party-oriented destination. There are a lot of interesting cocktails, a professional bartender.

Stopped off on way back from Carnoustie. You have to stop in such a great chippy wee man never spoke till he was done ✔️. Chips great fish wasn't greasy and the spicy haggis was awesome most definitely will be back next time up that way

Random stop before hiking. It looked crowded which is always a good sign. Incredibly friendly servers, great coffee and pastries AND a beautiful view looking out on the back terrace.

Really nice bar, with reasonable prices. Service was spot on, and food was tasty. Would definitely recommend the negroni!

Visited Rancho Pancho yesterday and I must say—this is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve dined at in Dundee. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by Maya, setting the tone for an amazing evening. I kicked things off with the Nachos Grande with chicken, paired with a glass of Big Wednesday. The nachos were phenomenal—crunchy, flavorful, and loaded, with possibly the best guacamole I’ve ever had (and I’ve tried a lot from different countries!). For my main, I had the Margarita Chicken: strips of marinated chicken breast pan-fried with cumin, chillies, garlic, cream, and a dash of Jose Cuervo Gold. It was beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. While it could’ve used a bit more spice, the flavors were still top-tier and well-balanced. It came with rice, sour cream, and flour tortillas—perfect accompaniments. I paired the meal with a glass of Pinot Grigio and later tried a Hurricane cocktail, which was refreshing and well-mixed. To finish, I went all out with a shot of Don Julio 1942—smooth and the perfect cap to the meal. Service & Atmosphere Special shoutout to Sarah and Maya who looked after me all evening. Their attentive and friendly service really made the experience stand out. The restaurant’s layout and vibrant décor create such a warm, festive vibe—it's Instagram-worthy and comfortable. From food to drinks to service, Rancho Pancho delivered on every level. Can’t wait to return!

Had wonderful experience. Staffs are really welcoming and helpful. They really makes the stay so comfortable. Good food was served in very neat and tidy environment.Also it is located in a very easily accessible site and has lots of amenities nearby. Definitely Will choose again to stay.
