What a fantastic wee restaurant! We were looking for somewhere a bit different for some lunch and Horeb definitely delivered. Our food was delicious and so fresh. We'll be back for sure!

Best place to eat in Dundee! Staff are friendly and food is amazing!

The food was very good. Unique taste, everything was fresh and even the chips had a bit of that special spice they use. The meats were charred just right - crispy on the outside and tender all the way through. I had the Ram Suya (a small dish) and my lady had the chicken skewers. Great choice on both accounts. The service was good, the lady was friendly and helpful (not in an intrusive way). I suggest You listen to her advice when picking a meal. Prices seemed fair. We paid 25 quid for the 2 meals with chips and some juice to drink. It was just the one visit, so can't really tell you much about the more costly choices like steak or whatnot. The place does have some small quirks - our table was a bit wobbly, the decor makes it look like a fast-food joint rather than what the food suggests it is - a restaurant. Probably gets quite stuffy when all the tables are full. But, honestly, all of those are non-consequential. Anyway, if I ever visit Dundee again, I'll likely go straight to Horeb for a quick bite.

This is tasty and delicious food, freshly prepared in Dundee town centre. We had their meat feast pizza - really good!

Great food! The lamb kebabs were delicious and loved the fries that came with them. We also had the fish curry with Jollof rice and pictured is the Ram Suya. They also offer student and NHS discount which is great for an already good priced menu :) would visit again

Had a takeaway lunch with chicken shawarma and jollof with turkey. The shawarma is incredible: tender, spiced char grilled smokey chicken with crunchy fresh veg and sweet spicy sauce and cheese. This is the closest one that reminds me of home and aids the nostalgia. The jollof was also really good, the turkey wing was full of flavour and again that smokey taste you can only get from the grill. Very tasty, fresh food, great atmosphere in the restaurant, and i get the feeling the chef loves a good banter. Highy recommend!

Ordered a delivery in for a work lunch. Sorry for the lack of photos but the food was delicious, very hot and full of flavour. Mac n cheese with king prawns was excellent. By all accounts the hot dogs were great and Fish Curry was spot on. We will definitely be back again. Highly recommend.

Some hip hop music was blasting way too loud in the restaurant and the service seemed to be a must which the waiter didn't particularly enjoy nor gave much attention. The food was ok-ish, the soup quite good but the curry only tasted like one spice (not sure which one).

Don't expect too much of the food and atmosphere. We have tried fish curry and a soup. The composition of the amount and spices did not match. Soup was OK. The atmosphere is comparable to a fast food restaurant with too loud music playing. Would not recommend.

What a hidden gem in Dundee. We stumbled across this place on a dead Monday eve as looking for the 4 of us to eat. The liveliness invited us in and we were greeted as if we just entered a happy home. The waitress helped us chose the best dishes for us, The chef took his tym to cook the food and explained how he started this place, The food was better than Indian food and I m an Indian. I don't even drink milkshakes and I ended up finishing my son's. It was all too good. I would give it 7 stars if I could. We kept ordering more and more food. Wish we were local, We would visit the place again and again. If u like Indian food and want something to top that, Try this Caribbean place and be amazed like us.

Superb, fantastic gem serving Afro-Caribbean food at the heart of Dundee. Probably the best fish curry I’ve ever had ( and I come from South India) . We also ordered a rack of lamb, which was excellent. Food may take a little longer but thats because it is prepared fresh.

Lovely family run business with excellent food and service. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice african/carribean inspired lunch or dinner!

Disappointed. Disinterested and distracted staff, long wait for food which was then a tough lamb chop curry. Sauce was nice but accompanying pilau rice tasted of some kind of stale ghee and nothing else.

Best wrap I've ever had. Delicious homemade sauce! Will be my go to next time I'm in town.

Nice and friendly staff. Make you feel at home. You can get the juiciest plantains in Dundee here and don’t let me get started on the Curry. It’s amazing.

Outstanding food in the centre of Dundee. Huge menu which is difficult to pick from as there’s so many options. I ordered the jumbo hotdog which was massive. Was asked how spicy I wanted it and went for the “hot” level which was probably spicy enough to still enjoy it. Afterwards the chef asked if I found it spicy enough as he’s experimenting to find the perfect spice level. The food was all delicious and really good value. Colleagues got lamb kebabs which they also thoroughly enjoyed. There’s a mobile app so you can order ahead and even take away, although the menu on the online ordering is slightly reduced from what’s all on the in store menus. Will definitely be coming back to work my way through the menu.

What a find. Highly recommended. Great food and very good value. I came here based on rave reviews from friends, and it didn't disappointment. The inside is cafe-style, with formica-topped tables and the open kitchen at the back. Wonderful and welcoming staff. The chef came over to answer some of our questions too. I had fried plaintains, which were superb, as a starter. Then the chicken stew, moderately spiced, which arrived in a gorgeous sauce, with the meat falling off the bone. Friends had vegetarian options, which they enjoyed. I also sampled the lamb kebab, which I think featured "house sauce" and was superb, served with salad. The jollof rice was excellent, with a nice kick. We had dinner here, BYOB, paying a small corkage fee. Definitely, we'll be back for more.

Received my food without any cutlery or the drink I paid for. Very curious as to how I’m expected to eat without cutlery and what happens to the drink I paid for and didn’t get

I went with a friend for lunch and it was a very good decision. The food is absolutely amazing! We had a wrap with mutton and a vegetable curry with naan bread. The vegeterian curry was properly hot and spicy so be careful but the flavours are amazing. The mutton was really well done, it wasn't too chewy and the veggies in the wrap created kind of a balance. All in all we will definitely come back again. Forgot to take photos as the food was delicious. The owners are very nice and friendly. We felt very welcome and almost at home 😊 I highly recommend trying this place. I don't think you can miss whatever you order from the menu

A treasure in the heart of Dundee City Center. And for a fish aficionado, it's simply heaven. Their crispy fish wrap is to die for. It's a HUGE wrap with fish, veggies and spicy to boot. A perfect Friday treat to end a long week and tackle some Artic blasts. They have become my go-to comfort food pit stop. A must try.

We had the chicken wraps, spicy soup, plantane fries and mini Donuts. Food was very tasty! We were stuffed so ended up taking half the wrap away with us and munching it on the way back up to Aberdeen. Great place, we'll definitely be back

This cafe-restaurant is a hidden gem in the centre of Dundee. Alongside Rancho Panchos, I would rate it as a top destination for foodies, particularly if fusion food is your thing. I watched the chef cook the carry out meals from scratch. He clearly loves his food, which he cooks with locally sourced ingredients. He adapted dishes to the heat preferred by myself and my husband, our tastes being quite different. The fish and prawn curry was succulent and flavourful, with a fine balance of spices. On a rather dreary and cold December day, I was transported to a sunnier place! The salad was zingy and very fresh. The roti was crisp without being greasy. In fact, the food was both healthy and indulgent! The other discovery was the coffee - the best I've found so far in Dundee. I thought I'd have a coffee while waiting for the food. I was amazed there weren't more people dropping in for a coffee while out shopping. I certainly will be in future. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, a fantastic find on a dreich day. Highly recommended!

First time at Horeb. Ordered a tangy Half-Chicken takeaway. Felt that the meat was cooked too dry, and the salad portion measly. The sauce was tasty but was low on volume unfortunately. Overall, I'm not convinced I'd be back unless Horeb improves.

Some of the best food I have ever tasted, both here and abroad! All cooked fresh, and bursting with flavour! The spicy chicken stew is a must. If I could eat only one thing for the rest of my life, I would happily choose that! Service friendly too! Cannot fault this little place ❤️

This was our first time there and first time trying Nigerian cuisine. Though it was crowded because of graduation night, the food taste was quite good. Really liked the spices and aroma. The waiter was very active and welcoming. Would definitely go there again to try other dishes! Everything served is Halal.

Had an amazing experience at the Horeb last night when we had my wife’s graduation dinner. The food was amazing, the service was great. I asked my daughter if she liked the place, she said “I don’t like it, I love it!”. My seven year old son rated the place “infinity over 10”. 😂😂😂. I would strongly recommend this place.

Every meal I had there was fabulous. I recommend it any day. The owner is amazing as well.

Had lunch in Horeb today. I have a nut allergy which wasn't a problem for staff at all. I had the lamb chops with jollof rice and hubby had chicken wings with chips both medium heat. The food was delicious!! The sauce on the food was fantastic!! The waitress was very friendly and helpful. We will be back.

We had a chance meeting with Babs the owner who was extremely interesting to talk to, kind and generous. Rather than just explain how he makes the sweet plantains crispy he made some for us to try and then sat with us while we ate them. They were, quite as expected, delicious as was the conversation. You should eat here.

Was visiting Scotland and came across this place. As I was hungry I decided to try it. Wow the fried rice was so yummy in my tummy and the grilled salmon was so tasty. Spoke to the chef and owner, very friendly young man. I wish him lots of sucess and maybe one day they'll open one in England, birmingham.

Just had an amazingly delicious dinner here (chicken skewers) – succulent and savoury, perfectly spiced, filling but not heavy. Service was friendly and genuinely helpful. I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Dundee because I sneaked a peek at another table's menu while eating and spied two or three other dishes I really want to try.

There are some vegan options, I had the vegan dog with fries which was nice and tasted good. However we waited about 20 minutes for our drinks and we only got them once I asked and I think we waited almost an hour for the food which is just too long in my opinion especially at lunchtime. The staff were nice and friendly.

I was really surprised it’s this place, opted for sirloin steak the flavour was superb and hot and spicy just the way I like it. Service was excellent very friendly and cheerful, will be back with my friends for a treat.

Attentive and friendly staff, amazing food! The puff puffs had too much yeast and tasted alcoholic but I liked it very much.

I had a brilliant experience here. I have to eat gluten-free and the chef came out to discuss the menu with me. He was very well-informed about coeliac disease and gluten and after checking the packaging of the fries, he offered to switch them for plaintains instead, at no extra cost. My food took about 25 minutes to arrive because it was being made fresh, but it was worth the wait. The chicken skewers were succulent and well spiced, the peppers were grilled to perfection and the salad was crisp and fresh. The plaintains were piping hot and delicious. The servers were friendly and both they and the chef came to check how my meal was. I will definitely be taking my friends and family here.

They have some really good vegan options, their las vegan burger is so good and I also had the chocolate cake which is vegan and their own recipe. The service is very good and everyone is so friendly and welcoming, I've been/ordered here a few times and the food is always top notch. Many thanks!

I like to tasty new food and seek for good restaurants! :) At the weekends, my family and I went to a restaurant called The Horeb Food Co. in the city center of Dundee, it was the first time we tried this restaurant. After my first bite when the food came, I amazed by the tasty and they were far exceeded my expectations! :D It was super tasty lunch I got with a affordable price. My family and I were all absolutely enjoyed the food! I really recommend this Horeb Food restaurant to everybody who are in Dundee as well! ^_^

Had a wonderful lunch at the Horeb Food Company on Sunday. We had a skewer and sides each - as somebody who can't help but order sweet potato fries whenever I eat out I can heartily recommend the plantain fries at Horeb! They really hit the spot! The staff were super friendly, welcoming and their suggestions on what we might like on the menu were spot on! Finally I was presently surprised to see a number of vegan items on offer which expands the number of people we can bring when we dine here again.

Had 20 minutes till my next bus but hungry. Told them I needed to catch that bus and could they do me the veggie skewers in 20 mins. They said they could. They couldn't. I missed the bus. The skewers themselves were ok. Sweet potato heavy with a decent hot chilli sauce on but nothing special. The side salad was a pathetic wilted mess. Plus I was overcharged by a £1 for no good reason. I so wanted to support one of the few places trying to stake a presence in the city centre evenings in Dundee but sadly I won't be going back.

The food is delicious, I recommend trying eggplants, they are really good. 5 out of 5!

Horeb has the potential to be a sparkling gem 💎 in a city littered with dull rocks. It's a small and bright cafe, with a friendly owner and a cool menu. The afro-carribean style food is fresh and full of flavour. Perhaps a little too heavy with the salt when we visited, but it's all cooked right there next to you, and they don't scrimp on ingredients. I had the eggplant, and it was stuffed with a whole host of veggies, including asparagus! 😋 I'm hoping that I will be able to try everything on the menu, but spicy food makes me sick, so fingers crossed 🤞 that they can accommodate me for my future visits. I honestly can't stop thinking about how jam packed with fresh ingredients my plate was! My only hope is that people see how good the food can be. It can feel a bit too much like another fast food establishment: the seats could do with some cushions, the tables could be a bit less wobbly and because they don't serve alcohol it dosen't quite fit the bill for a night out. Which I think is a BIG shame.

The staff and chef were friendly. The eggplant grill was amazing and a must try veggie dish. Chicken wings are grilled nicely succulent. Kebab and grilled bread with chicken skewers are also nicely done! Definitely recommended and will visit again.

The hotdog wasn’t great, it was really soggy and just fell apart, the chicken wings sauce was nice but the wing itself had barely any meat on, I only enjoyed the drinks. The kitchen staff were very rude to the waitress which wasn’t nice

Wow - incredible food and lovely folk! A friend and I visited for lunch and had the most delicious chicken skewers and salmon with Jollof rice. Banana split and this amazing coconut bomb for pudding. Everything hit the spot, full of flavour and good vibes. Thank you!

Stubled accros this place recently when I was looking for a place to dine-in with my friend at a lunch time. Chef invited us to come in and explained everything on the menu. Food options are flexible. You can change and add a lot of toppings and side dishes, all within the price. You won't be charged extra for changing sides. Food was delicious. I had a double-decker burger and a cup of tea while my friend enjoyed the best wings and mocha he has ever had before. In the end, we were happily suprised by getting a 10% student discount. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves here😍. It was a perfect way to end the day’s ‘busyness’. I had a glass of pineapple juice and needed to have more because of how natural the juice was! We were offered something to hold us up while we waited for our order and we enjoyed our meals so much! Loved the ambiance, the musics were just songs I needed to hear and staff and were very friendly and amazing. Definitely coming back! And have told my friends, we’ve got our date in December to have a taste of the Horeb Food company 🥰👏🏽

Decided to try Horeb for lunch after being enticed in by the server while perusing the menu on the window outside, a win to Horeb. Once in and once the Partner had been ordered and had arrived we decided to go for half roast chicken with cajun chips for myself and grilled salmon with a side of plantain for the significant other. Chicken was smothered in some godly sauce and was succulent and fresh tasting. The wee salad which accompanied it was a class act too. The spicy sauces which came with my dish were prop spicy, nae cooncil in this establishment. On the other hand, I myself am not a salmon lover and to this day convinced i never will be. My partner however gave it rave reviews from across the table, describing it as delicious at one point. Plantain was really spot on too combined with the little sauces supplied. All round a pretty brilliant experience, tunes were decent in the background and the whole vibe is where it needs to be. Food was legit well worth the money. £40 for 2 mains, 2 sides and 2 drinks, can't grumble considering the food is pure quality 👌 Definitely a place to bring mates from near and far and we'll definitely be back soon, Well played guys! 5 stars all round ✨️

The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, loved the music and decor of the restaurant. I ordered the Grilled Salmon, as a normally fussy person I was apprehensive about eating somewhere very new, but the cooks did an outstanding job and it was fantastic. I will definitely be coming here again and bringing friends. Thankyou for such a great experience!
