Excellent burger, and the best fries ever!

Very friendly staff in this clean and beautifully decorated restaurant. The burger was excellent, we had the classic with cheese and onion, accompanied with the best fries we've ever had! We will absoloutely visit again.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Came in and the guy told me the order would take around 15 mins. The order was given to me nearly 40 mins later. I then open the fries to see them all black and they looked pretty old and they looked overall pretty nasty and not edible at all WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Consistent nice food and wonderful staff!

The food here was so fresh and delicious.. was so clean i couldnt believe that i was eating the angus beef burger with beef bacon! The loaded fries were also really nice with crispy chicken pieces on top to compliment the salad and sauces Had a really good experience and craving some more!

Food is delish one of the best burgers and fries ive ever had! Service staff are lovely friendly and very good at what they do! I will defo be back! I cannot fault anything even my shake was a 10!! If u havent been here get ur arse down here!

Literally live next door. Couldn't go down due to being sick. Have been more than one and a half hour but the order is not here yet. Not the first time they've let me down like this. Food might be great but -100 for service. Never ordering again.

Shax Burger in Dundee is an absolute gem! Their smashed burgers are incredibly delicious, made from a 30-day dry-aged Aberdeen Angus in a custom blend using the finest cuts. The flavor is outstanding and truly a cut above the rest. Their wings are also a must-try—tasty and perfectly cooked. The staff here are very welcoming and kind, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended if you're visiting Dundee!

The biggest thing was finding a halal establishment, which this place is. I was amazed by Shax! If you’re looking for American Style burgers and fries, then this is the place! They’re amazingly delicious!

Halal meat! Dined in and ordered burger and fries with a smoothie. Few tables for sitting in. Reasonably priced. Recommended a burger by the man on the till and decided to go ahead with it. Generous portions and fries were very crispy. Would come back again definitely recommend

Absolutely shocking. The only mitigation I can give is that the burger had to travel a couple of miles to get to. It was almost inedible due to it being cold. My fault as I know burgers don't travel well but this was absolutely tasteless and I had to smother it in sauce. Never again. It should have learned my lesson by now. I just thought this gourmet burger would be differerent . 🤦‍♂️

The place was empty when we went in which is a shame, but I suspect the takeaway (just eat/Uber eats) is busy enough that dine in custom whilst welcome isn't relied upon. Because it was quiet there wasn't much of an atmosphere to score, but my daughter and I had a pleasant enough time waiting for our food. Staff were polite and friendly though not much chat, which is fine. Takeaway orders seemed to be taking priority, meaning we waited a little longer than you'd expect for our food hence 4/5 on service. The food however was absolutely worth the wait. I've eaten many a burger in my life, I would walk back to shax for another 'big smoke' with a side of lemon pepper fries. The burger itself was delicious but the addition of smoked pulled brisket was sensational. Daughter had the classic cheeseburger which was also excellent with regular fries, though she couldn't finish her burger as it was quite big for a 6yr old in hindsight though they do have a kids menu. Overall best burger I've had in a long time anywhere, probably the best I've ever had in Dundee. I haven't lived in Dundee for years but would come back just to grab a shax for sure.

Ordered food at 18:58pm. Was advised delivered by 19.45. Called restaurant at 20.03pm to check on delivery. Guy who answered was not interested in speaking to me at all. He told me the order left the restaurant over 25 minutes ago however they take 4 orders out at a time and some deliveries are maximum an hour away. I asked what would be the next steps as i preempt my food will evidently arrive cold and soggy to which he advised ‘its in a hotbox and we have had no complaints before’. I explained to the guy on phone if you have fresh food, such as chips, wrap it up in cardboard or any other means, then keep it in a ‘hot box’ then the food will become soggy and wet. Guy on the phone again said ‘no complaints before’ when i asked what the next steps would be. Call was left there. Ridiculous service for cold soggy food. Food finally delivered. And as assumed, soggy and horrid. Now time to call restaurant back to complain but no doubt will be passed off again.

We wondered in and everyone was friendly. We had loaded fries, and a burger and fries. Totally delicious. We sat in as we are in town for a night, most people seem to get take aways. Highly recommend the food.

The food is not worth the amount of waiting you have to do. The same thing has happened the last two times I ordered where even after 1 hour past the the expected delivery time, the food did not arrive. And when you try calling the restaurant, no one picks up. It's ridiculous. As it is, the order preparation and delivery time is 85 minutes, which almost always gets extended and the order still doesn't arrive on time. Probably going to stop ordering from here.

Orders never get delivered in time and no one pick phone. Its been 2hrs since order placed and restaurant didn't deliver and neither pick calls. Absolute joke

Hit and miss of a place. Don’t recommend the chicken burgers as they covered with too much batter and the marinade isn’t spicy at all. I can only recommend the beef burgers.

Didn’t listen to what I wanted taken off the burger, so it went in the bin as my partner can’t eat onions and the sauce, couldn’t even just take it off as you drowned it, and the wings were over done to the point I couldn’t even bite into one of them, another thing what’s the point in trying to hide your service fee ect, you say £3 odd for delivery then when you get to check out it throws an extra £6 on your orders for a “service fee” I’m sorry but why are we giving you £40+ for a couple of burgers and sides, good one money making robbing c**** owner shoukd be ashamed of thenselfs robbing the people the way you’d do how you canny sleep at night

Provides one of the best burgers in town. Quality ingredients and delicious fries. It also makes very clean wings, I tried wings at other shops but the smell was not nice.

Since you want to remove my review on just eat I will be leaving it here. 1 hour 15 minutes late. Placed my order at 6pm, to be delivered at 7pm and did not receive my order until 8.15pm. Driver arrived with phone tucked in his neck, carrying my order with one hand and failed to inform me the bag is torn at the bottom (side facing him) therefore the bag has torn open at the top when I took the bag from him. I have went into my house to see the bag has torn at the top because of it being soggy, covered in oil and torn right open at the bottom. He clearly handed it to me this way to cover up the fact the bag torn at the bottom. Simple physics can explain this 🤔 Customer service person spoke to manager who refused to refund despite my food being covered in oil and also cold as it's over an hour late. Apparently this driver delivers food everyday so he is truthful. I have ordered many times here and not had any issue. Clearly Shax do not have any respect for their customers since I am being called a liar. Absolutely awful service and I won't be ordering again due to the lack of customer service. Why would I lie about this after being a good customer? Ridiculous.

Ordered for collection and my vegan burger was so burnt that i couldnt taste anything else. It wasnt very busy in there either so no idea why it was like that, was disappointed

rotten... Also found out they do HALAL. Animals have their throat slit and left to bleed to death. Should be banned. This place has no place in the future.

Slightly pricey but portion sizes were good and the food was tasty. An improvement would be to use thigh instead of breast for that extra juiciness in the buttermilk chicken.

Best Burger in Dundee by a country mile! Have eaten here several times and tried many of the burgers, I must say every single one is exceptional. The consistent high standard of food coupled with the freshness and quality of the ingredients really stands out. Burger wise, my favourite has to be the Hot-ness Monster. The blend of juicy meat, spicy mayo and fried onions is just divine. No trip to Shax is complete without trying the brisket loaded fries with either Buffalo or Ranch sauce. Best plate of fries you are likely to ever eat! The Brisket meat just melts in your mouth. Service is always excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended

Burgers are really good, cooked to order, fresh. Large portions of chips, enough to share. Seasoned chips not so good, just seasoning dumped on after chips cooked. Burgers take an age to come.

We found this place about a year ago and now whenever we visit our son in Dundee more often than not we go to Shax for a burger. This is my absolutely number one place to get a burger. As a family I think we've worked our way through most of the burgers on offer and have never been disappointed. And the chips! Oh my goodness you get a huge portion of the best chips ever.

Got an Oreo Sundae last night. A Sundae is supposed to be ice cream with toppings. It definitely wasn't ice cream I got given, it was more fake than a McDonald's McFlurry!! Only reason I put 2 stars because I got 2 Oreo cookies on top.

Can never go wrong with a Shax in Dundee. The food is always on point. I am a regular and hands down have never had a bad meal. From there burgers to the loaded fries they are all spot on. My favourites there Grilled Cheese with mist of the toppings. There loaded fries are all amazing no matter what you choose. Worth a visit. Its a must and al Halal too.

Shax burger does amazing beef smash burgers and grilled chicken burgers. They are a bit out of the main town centre but worth the trek. It does get a bit hot inside due to the grill! Aircon would be great!

What a great place to go. One of the staff was out of this world. What a gem he was. As am cutting one of the stuff helped me stay in my calorie allowance, recommend me a salad with chicken. He genuinely was amazing definitely will be coming back when I pop by Dundee

My very first visit but can't believe how good the snacks were. Great polite service and spotlessly clean premises. Guy doing the cooking really knows his stuff, chicken was just great and it's got to have been the best crispy french fries I've tasted in a long time. "Addictively so". Decent selection on the menu so I would definitely recommend a visit if a nice snack meal is on your days agenda.

Shax do the most amazing burgers, chicken and shakes, always 10/10. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Both sit-in and home delivery orders have consistently been of top quality and cannot be faulted. Their brisket topped burger is to die for! Strawberry milkshake is the best in Dundee!

Wanted to give this a go but never again. Waste of money. I placed my order at 6:50 and my order arrived at 930. The fries were just so greasy and overcooked and burger was soggy.

Good scran. The burger tasted good - if a wee bit cold, likely because of the delivery - I do feel a little bit sick at the moment, however (hopefully it is unrelated to the food). Overal; wasn't bad.

I enjoy some spicy food and have found myself repeatedly visiting here for the 'Hotness Monster' burger. The burger itself is pleasantly spicy but does not compromise taste for pure heat (the sauce in the burger retains a level of sweet creaminess). I recently tried the spicy fries they offer and have found them to be excellent as well.

My honest opinion is I think they’re up there with the best restaurants in dundee. Their food is unreal and it’s a very hygienic too. Great people

Compliments to the chef once again 5 stars my husband adores your sweet chilli chicken 🐔 wings with a portion of mini fries 🍟 (he's on a diet) this allows him to have everything just a smaller portion which is a win win win in our home. The interior is always spotless and clean no matter how busy it gets which is nice to see. All delivery drivers wash their hand b4 and after dropping off orders their hygiene is paramount this is 1 happy customer who will keep coming back thank you 😊

Food eventually arrived 3 hours after I ordered with no apology just some lame excuse about the till. Burgers were cold and our regular drinks turned out to be small cans of irn-bru....so will definitely not be ordering here again!

My partner and I visited here Clean premises Polite staff Great menu choices and accomodating to take off and add on toppings to your burger with no issues The food it's self was fantastic Burgers were cooked well and lovely tasting, the chips were to die for, skin on cooked just right, not too crispy and not greasy. thoroughly enjoyed. The prices are very fair and we feel we got good value for money. We had to wait on our order which is always a good sign as it was all cooked fresh and they called my mobile when our food was ready. A pleasant experience.

Wow! Best fries around 😋 fresh and crispy and all the flavourings on point. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. Came for takeout out of town and were invited to take a seat in instead on the dreary stormy day, so we did. Place is incredibly clean, well decorated and staff are lovely. Best of luck on your back to normal from this Monday hours. Wish them many good sales. Definitely suggest getting the grilled wings too and the milkshakes go down a treat during and after. Shocking service, do not eat at this establishment. Charged me £10 more at the door than originally stated. 2 items from Order missing (£50 order btw) called restaurant and was given no apology or any compensation. Person on the phone was particularly rude dealing with my complaint also. Big waste of money. Was my go to for burgers but I will never waste a penny at Shax burgers again

Visiting Scotland from America. We drove 20 minutes into Dundee and we’re blown away by this place. The burgers were fantastic, and the fries (chips) were the best we’ve ever had. The location is great, the place is clean, and the logos are awesome. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. If you are anywhere close, you have to try this place!
