Beefeater Dundee Centre in Dundee City

On the ground floor adjoining the Premier Inn, across from the Rail Station. Stopped at the bar for a drink. Nice, relaxing atmosphere. Didn’t eat in restaurant but restaurant was quite busy. Staff friendly and drink prices reasonable. Even if you aren’t staying at the Premier Inn, stop by Beefeaters.

Recently stayed in Premier inn Dundee central hotel with my girlfriend. Our opinion of this hotel is average in short, there really wasn't anything which wowed us to ensure we would pick this hotel over another in the future. Parking at the hotel you need to pay for charged at £7 a night isn't terrible, but another cost. We stayed one night Saturday 9th of November and there was enough parking which was fairly simple to do and got a confirmation ticket to my phone. Check in was fairly quick, the self check in wasn't working during our stay, but that didn't really create an issue. Rooms were as you'd expect, clean with a nice comfy bed and good noise isolation especially as 300 odd rooms and a city centre location we both slept well though think they should replace some of the pillows in the bed, not sure if this was just our room (302) We had a breakfast pre paid and we decided to eat in the restaurant as we were heading out to a calidh. The food in the evening was alright though a bit pricy for what it was and the variety of eating options was pretty poor. Breakfast was alright was buffet. Food was in smaller trays so got replaced more regularly though we prefer the premier inn hotels that you get your breakfast cooked to order. Now the fact I had to point out to the staff at breakfast there was some yogurts past their date wasn't particularly good, worse still having unlimited tea and coffee is good if you like either those options, but to get told hot chocolate is an extra cost I find ridiculous.

Beware the twin rooms that aren't! Stay in Premier Inns regularly, so was quite excited that this one was now offering 'proper' twin rooms, not just a double and sofa bed. Having booked one of these, and even phoned up the day before to check it was a proper twin, we arrived to find we had a double and sofa bed. Staff couldn't move us as all the twins were apparently taken. Really annoying when we've shared the cost of the room and one person ends up on the sofa without even a reading light. Even more ironic that they keep advertising their 'twin' rooms to me. Also were having issues with their machine so our key cards stopped working multiple times. But staff were lovely and the location is good.

Stayed here for one night whilst visiting Dundee. Staff were polite and helpful on check in and when asked about restaurant next door and parking. Parking is £7 for the night. Room was comfortable and clean. Hotel is in walking distance to city centre and shops, about 15 mins. Beefeater is worth a visit, standard food but was quick, tasty and staff were attentive. Had evening meal and breakfast in the morning. Handy location for a walk along the Tay and to visit the Discovery Museum next door

The receptionist wasn't very warming when we arrived. We hardly slept with the noise from aircon

Lynn que nos sirvió fue muy servicial y nos dio el 25% de comida de la próxima factura Ivard. había estado en Newhouse recientemente y se le dio esto.

Pretty convenient a short walk from the train station. Great place to explore dundee, St Andrews etc.

Typical Premier Inn. Comfortable and clean basic room. Had a good sleep and was quiet. This particular one is really nicely located on the Tay with stunning views over the estuary. Couple of bits. We had real trouble at check in. I’m not sure what was going on but they tried no fewer than about 100 key card before one would work. After a 8 hours travelling to get there and a huge queue building up, it just was a bit chaotic and took ages when I needed a rest. Secondly the free WiFi is deliberately throttled to 1Mbps which in this day and age is absolutely useless so don’t even bother.

Gran lugar para una cena con amigos. No habíamos reservado, pero el personal era muy servicial. La comida estaba deliciosa, con la comida caliente servida en placas calientes, ( odio la comida caliente servida en placas frías ) Yo tenía un filete de solomillo, que estaba perfectamente cocinado, otros dos tenían filete de gammon, uno tenía filete. Las papas fritas estaban crujientes y calientes. La presentación fue excelente y el personal, bien informado y eficiente. Volveremos pronto.

Fantastic place. Not a hot cross bun in sight. Big Padraig the manger slapped me on the back as I left as I was decked on in full TAL regalia. I'll be back.

Stayed for a few nights at the connected premier inn hotel. Had breakfast two days (very poor! Would not recommend paying for the cooked breakfast as there was like 4 hot foods) and had dinner one night. Oh my - I had to wait 10 mins to be seated, got sat on my own surrounded by huge loud families, and it took 15 mins for someone to take my order. I ordered a burger and chips and cola - it was ok. Also ordered a side of green veg but it was a tiny portion of a few courgettes, two sprigs of broc and asparagus - £4.50! Very expensive for low quality food. I wasn’t expecting a decadent meal but it was terrible quality and service

All staff are very friendly and helpful. Lily our server was lovely and assisted my elderly mum with choices from the menu. Lovely girl. The staff are a credit to Beefeater. Food was very nice, we dined here for 2 days, very clean restaurant, breakfast had a very good selection. Will be back.

On arrival, we were warmly welcomed, and our request for a table overlooking the river was readily sorted. Rachel Y served us, and she was welcoming, friendly, cheerful, and, above all, helpful. The steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and were extremely tasty. The haddock was thick, brilliant white, and again tasty. The wine list was varied and good value for money. All in all, it was an excellent experience and represented extremely good value for money at a location with fabulous views across the Tay. We would not hesitate to dine here again and would most certainly recommend it to others.

Stayed here in mid-July with my two boys - 10 and 11. Others have stated the fantastic location and they are not wrong. We didn't ask for a specific room i.e. the Tay view!, so we got the car park (and a sliver of river if you strained your neck!) but to be fair, the cleanliness of the room was more important to me. I asked for an extra pillow (there were already the usual two spare in the room) and this was duly hand-delivered to the room about an hour later so extra credit to the staff for that 🙂 Room temperature was spot on, despite it being a warm and humid day (by Dundee standards, that is). Breakfast was something I always look forward to at the PI and it duly delivered. Kids eat free deal is not to be sniffed at either. At the end of the stay, we crossed the road and were in the railway station. Easy.

Staying at Premier Inn and ate at Beefeater for convenience but were not disappointed. The food was excellent and our waitress (Alex) could not have been more pleasant and helpful. A good experience all round and we would use it again.

Excellent venue, beautiful view across the Tay on a lovely night. Went as a spur of the moment family meal, it was spot on, the price of the kids menu was brilliant my 2 children ate every single bite. The menu selection for adults was varied and delicious. Our waitress Alex was amazing and very attentive to my children. Will be going back very soon for the price, food and excellent customer service.

Was there multiple times on my week stay in Dundee service was great on every visit waitresses where great and manger was very pleasant as well over all fantastic experience would highly recommend will return when back in Dundee

Popped in for lunch with family. Sunday roast was lovely and Sophie our waitress was very attentive with great banter. Refillable glasses of fizzy juice was great.

Had my dinner here for one night only. Reasonable choice of menu. Good portion size. Reasonable prices. Had breakfast next morning as well.

Amazing location overlooking the River Tay and with views of the Tay Road Bridge and the famous Tay Railway Bridge. Ask for a room overlooking the river or you will be overlooking the car park! Very helpful staff that couldn't have been more helpful. Right next to the V&A and the sailing ship, the Discovery. The railway station is just across the road and there is a Tesco just down the road.

The only downfall was we tryed to check in at 3pm but our room was not ready and to to wait hour and half for our room which is not good with a small child, there was 3 family's waiting to check in with small children as well as there room was not ready aswell.

Very good location. You pay £4 per night for parking and in relation to the price of the surrounding car parks, it is very good. I gave the room a 3 star because we spent two nights without air conditioning and it was very hot in the room. I mentioned it to the receptionist and he didn't even offer us a room change, which was what he should have done, since these hotels are not Cheap and you pay for quality service. The service from the staff is good but I was disappointed by how they “did not manage” the problem we had. The cleaning we requested for the room was very depressing. They left us new towels mixed with the ones we had already used and also the beds were not made. Room service leaves something to be desired! It will have to be improved! You pay for a quality hotel to receive that same thing, QUALITY!

This Premier Inn is just 5 minutes from Dundee station and in a great location overlooking the river and a stone’s throw from the discovery and Dundee V&A. We didn’t have a room on that side of the building but that didn’t matter. We arrived just after 3pm check in.Two members of staff on reception, one on a computer, the other dealing with a guest. We waited ages without even an acknowledgment of our existence. The room itself looked very tired with uneven flooring and only one chair between 2 people. As we were staying for 2 days I asked for another but no response. The base of the bed had a big gap where I assume a pullout bed should have been. There was a big gap where clearly there should have been some furniture. Bed as always comfortable and the bathroom was very clean with fluffy white towels. The bath had very high sides so was very difficult to get in and out of. I don’t think that the towel rail will last very long as it’s the only thing to hang onto when getting in and out. A good number of 3 pin plug sockets but no usb socket. Evacuation notice on the back of the door did not have a map of emergency exits.

Premier Inn same everywhere good

Great central Dundee location. Excellent family room with wonderful views of the Tay. If there's 3 of you & you don't want to share beds then always ask for a quad room, that way you get a king size bed + 2 single pull out beds. Otherwise you'll end up with 1 king-size bed + 1 single bed.

Lovely stay at this Premier Inn, we usually do AirB&B’s but may need to reconsider that option in future. The location is great, staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. The room was clean and we slept really well.

I'm not sure what happened to Premier Inns, but I feel the standards have really slipped. The rooms lack a homely feel, along with the feeling a bit shabby and in need of a deep clean. Don't take room 301. Throughout the night, all you hear is what sounds like an extractor fan that won't shut off.

Great location and views if you’re on the Tay side.

Having stayed here a few years ago was looking forward to it however check in was a nightmare due to only one staff member on who was in no hurry during check in process. The room was on the small side no bath....no sofabed/ couch only 1 chair....room was dark and dingy with view of adjacent buildings roof and car park no river view even though requested. However it was the toilet and shower that let this room down - no bath... The bin had a filthy foot plate there was mold in a few places in shower and poor shoddy paintwork. The whole area needs re-furbished ..... The bed was as always comfortable and clean but that was the only good point about the room. The restaurant staff were helpful and pleasant despite being extremely busy.....the rib eye steak was the best steak I've had in a while so top marks to kitchen/ dining staff and chef. The meal plan is definitely good value Didn't have breakfast as partner was unwell in the morning so can't comment on breakfast. To he honest it wasn't expensive so you get what you pay for but rather disappointing when we know the standard was much higher before.......

Good for one night with the family

We have been to around 40 Premier Inns around the UK and this one is our favourite when we are attending shows in Dundee. Firstly, it's so easy to get parked in the hotel's large car park and the daily rate was just £4. We usually use the Beefeater restaurant for our evening meals as there is an excellent menu and the food and service is excellent. The breakfast was top notch and plenty available even though we went down at 10:30 (30 mins before they close). The waiting staff and reception staff are very friendly and the hotel is just so convenient for the City Centre. We were attending a show at Dundee rep and we walked there in about ten minutes. The only negative was that the Beefeater bar closed at 10:30pm which is incredibly early for a Premier Inn bar on a Saturday night. Apparently they close at 9:45pm during the week so always worth checking. We were very fortunate that we made it with five mins to spare.

Nice new Premier Inn so was very comfortable. The only let down was that only one bath towel was in the room for me and wife to share. Already showering when realised so best check everything is in your room before you settle!

This is our 4th time at this hotel. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and efficient (changed our room when we requested) Parking is right in front of hotel and only £4 per night. Location is excellent. Thank you again for a very pleasant stay.

Really impressed with this Premier Inn. Great location for practically everything in Dundee. Right on the Riverside, breakfast comes with fabulous views. Great Beefeater restaurant for breakfast and dinner, even coffee and cake for a fiver between 3 and 5pm!! You're right next to Discovery, V&A and the station. Ten minutes walk to the shops, plenty of bus routes available AND you can walk along the Riverside, and Docks Way to Broughty Ferry. It's a stride out, but well worth it if you get a good day. And remember that Dundee is Scotland's sunniest city 😊😊 so it's likely.

Decent price for a central location hotel. Only a 5 min walk from the train station. Staff helpful, and room clean and comfortable.

We stayed in the hotel for weekend so had few meals here and can highly recommend its a very busy place so would book! We were served by Lynn on the Friday and dispite being on her own was so friendly and informed us about the loyalty card and took time to chat with us to ensure we had everything we needed! On the Friday evening we were sat at a table near the door which was quite cold. The Saturday was again very busy and we had to wait quite a long time for drinks- other than that we enjoyed the food! Just could maybe do with more staff!

We had lunch here with friends. The restaurant is situated on the bank of the river Tay. We had a great table overlooking the river. Service was fine. We were in no hurry. I thought my burger was quite good. Next time I will ask for their thrice cooked chips I stead of the skinny fries that came with it. Our friends eat here often and always have the same thing. Their favourite waitress was charming, friendly,helpful and definitely went above and beyond. We look forward to our next visit. They also have a comfortable bar area where you can sit with a coffee or a drink. Parking is free for 3 hours but you must register your number plate.

Nice hotel but 3rd night of a 4 night stay and room not cleaned once so far ...... paid extra for their ultimate WiFi and signal drops ever half hour so need to go to network settings to get it back and never experienced so much buffering in my life and its meant to be supplied by Virgin Media .... poor show tbh

We popped in for a spot of lunch and enjoyed the meals from the set lunch menu for a great price. The restaurant was very clean and tidy and Lynn, our server, was incredibly friendly and helpful. I have a dairy intolerance and the restaurant was great at making sure I was well catered for which made me feel reassured that my requirements were taken seriously. Will definitely be back!

Visited the beefeater for tea with a family of eight. Great atmosphere and our host Stewart when above and beyond in his service. Even taking a photo of the family together. Always smiling and friendly. Defiantly recommend!

The waiter (not tall, with a beard, redhead) at the door who showed us seats was so rude! He was impatient, talk extremely loud to us, doesn't let me finish my sentences. When I asked him a question, he cut me off multiple times and started to explain it to me in a condescending manner! Kept saying :"Do you understand?""Do you know what I am talking about?" We are not local and he made us feel I was racist against in public! All the customers sitting in that area were staring at our table because he was so loud and rude! WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! Horrible experience! DON'T GO!

Service and food is excellent. Connie looked after us tonight and nothing was a problem to her. Always cheerful and took time to chat and have a bit of banter and helped us with our questions about the menu. Definitely knows her stuff.
