We were looking for somewhere special to eat and, following a recommendation from the Hotel we were staying at, we went to Gidi Grill. Mo made us feel so welcome when we arrived and after a superb meal I said to him the 3 things that make an enjoyable evening out are: the food, the service and the atmosphere. They excelled at all 3.

Amazing service. Great atmosphere. Amazing food. Highly recommend. Rack of ribs was delicious! Will most definitely be returning!!

What can I say, dissapointed, second time in 3 months had to send fish dish back to be cooked thoroughly,used to be very good but think they are trying to get as many services out as possible,sacraficing quality for quantity. 2nd time just took prawns away to be cooked left rest of dish to get cold while waiting for food to return.

My meal was okay but my friend meal tasted burnt. Server was not helpful. Only asked us once if we wanted drinks. When we didn't want dessert etc immediately after main course not asked again. When we asked for the bill the guy did apologise but said it was because they were busy. Nothing like it used to be and just very fast food place now.

Heard about the Gidi Grill from a friend who highly recommended we try it. We took their advice and popped in for some lunch. We opted for their 2 course £17.99 lunch menu. It was great. Friendly service, great choice of food/drinks and it all tasted great. Will definitely be visiting again.

Whilst we were out and about today in Dundee, we asked one of the assistants in a shop we were visiting where she could recommend for a special meal tonight as it was my wife's birthday. She said Gidi Grill, City Square , she in fact said she and her husband were going there tonight for a special Valentine celebration meal. We called in at lunchtime to see if there were any spot left for tonight fortunately we managed a booking which was great as it is my wife's birthday, What a find we had a lovely special Valentine shared meal which my wife and myself enjoyed very much, great service very attentive staff, when paying the bill I mentioned to William our waiter it was my wife's birthday today and just as we were leaving the staff produced a special sweet treat for my wife and they sang and danced Happy Birthday, what a great touch to end a lovely day. Many thanks to the lovely staff in Gidi Grill for ending a lovely memorable day. When back in Dundee we will definitely be visiting Gidi Grill.

Whilst the staff were all lovely the food was not up to the scratch. I understand the pressures that a kitchen can experience but unfortunately we visited on an off day.

Love this place. Best restaurant in Dundee. My favourite is the chicken Caesar Salad, with sweet potato fries and gidi green sauce.

I arrived at the restaurant to chaos at 7pm. Stood at the desk with staff running around, nobody making eye contact with myself or the other groups waiting. After ten minutes I was addressed and taken to a table, but the service was very slow. After about 90 minutes, we were served food. A huge group of intoxicated guys sat next to us, and the restaurant became carnage. After our mains, we had coffees. We were about to leave when a fight broke out amongst the drunk men, and one of them fell against my table, forcing me against the wall. Staff threatened to call the police, but didn’t. They were also making jokes about the fight, but to be honest, it just seemed like an inconvenience rather than a serious incident. Obviously we then just left our table, paid at the desk and left. The food was okay, but the portion size had shrunk. A main course at over £25 was not enough food and an extra course was needed. We really didn’t want to stay though. I have been previously when food was of much better quality, and it seemed like the kitchen was stretched. Overall, the restaurant is just chaos. It’s similar to Nando’s in style, but unfortunately I would not return since I felt a bit shaken. Ironically the drunk fight was because one customer didn’t want to pay for undercooked chicken. The staff didn’t really deal with him well and were arguing back, although he was a horrible customer. The horrible customer didn’t offer to pay for everyone else’s meal he had ruined, despite the fact he thought he shouldn’t pay for is own meal if someone ruins it!

Lovely place to eat, friendly staff and tasty food, my only one niggle was the menu could maybe offer a bigger selection.
