The best restaurants in Argyll & Bute Central Scotland

I am continuing my trip around Helensburgh's restaurants and takeaways. I think I need my own food critique job! 😁 Have always avoided Magic Wok as it doesn't have great ķèrb appeal. However, I saw the other reviews and most seemed positive. I always judge a Chinese by it's chicken and sweetcorn soup, just to keep a consistent order. Was very nice. Chicken cashew nuts were a little salty but perfectly edible. Honey chicken was a little dry but my fault as I didn't realise it didn't come with a sauce. Rice lovely and complimentary prawn crackers. Would definitely order again.

Great wee local.pub. Friendly staff and regulars. Reasonably priced beers. Dog friendly. Pool table.

Lovely cafe! Would highly recommend their specials which are between £6-£8. Amazing value for money!

Probably the best pizza I ate in UK. Super soft dough,great quality products,absolutely fantastic mozzarela. Very pleased 😁

Having been out for a drive yesterday we stopped here for some dinner. So glad we did. WOW, what an amazing dinner we had. From starter to dessert it's one of the best meals we have had. Compliments to the chef and staff. We will be back the next time we visit Dunoon.😋😊

My friend,myself and Nevis the dog visited the cafe today I had a full breakfast consisting of 3 link sausages(as I don't eat eggs,)2 rashers of bacon a lorne sausage,black pudding tomato,tattie scone and toast.My friend had the same but had a fried egg The food was delicious very tasty and not in the least greasy Nice surroundings and a bonus that it is dog friendly Will definitely go back

Very busy but well organised and food and drink delivered promptly. Quality was good especially gourmet steak

Harbour view from the balcony to the famous colorful house line. Great food and Service. Oysters are amazing.

A lovely little traditional coffee shop with a touch of quirk and class ! I loved the tartan crockery! The coffee was excellent and the cakes looked amazing. Service was friendly. There is a lovely gift shop attached too - where I bought a gorgeous little tartan handbag. The prices in both the shop and care where very fair - especially as the location is very much a “tourist trap” - they definitely didn’t take advantage. I would highly recommend a visit.

Fantastic place to eat and great with the kids

Poor customer service - two members of staff ignored us as we entered the restaurant. Asked member of staff is they were open for coffee and got the reply “what kind do you want”. Waited 20 minutes for two cappuccinos that were pure water. Member of staff had no manners in the slightest.

Although busy we managed to get a window table with fabulous views over Tobermory. Service was excellent. Wine was priced reasonably but I would hazard a guess these were cheaper end bottles, the Italian we had was a bit harsh. I had rump which needed to rest before being served, quite a lot of grissal and fat left over. My wife had sweet potatoes scooped but found the whole meal a bit sloppy and lacking texture. Nothing on sweet menu inspired us so we didn’t bother.
