My family came in yesterday after spending a great night at the Lodge for my uncles 80th birthday. They were out for a walk in the morning and popped into the coffee shop on my recommendation. They all told me how rude the lady was that served them. She banged the chair down next to them with a face like thunder. She was very aggressive. My father was so annoyed he told me he was ready to just walk out. Very disappointing after I told them to come in. Maybe she was having a bad morning, Im not sure what was going on with her but its not a nice way to treat customers. Oh and my dads coffee was cold too. Not so good. It makes me sad because Ive been in a lot and always been happy with the service and the food.

Called for a hot drink when visiting Luss. The cafe was very busy so we shared a table. The coffee was lovely. We had a piece of millionaires shortbread and a slice of lemon loaf. They were very sweet. The bill was £16.90 which we considered a bit overpriced.

Stopped for lunch at this busy coffee house/eatery. We had spicy soup which was served quickly. It was delicious and came with a large chunk of bread. They clearly take their Scottishness seriously the male staff wear a kilt and the crockery has tartan on it.

Service abrupt / told to order quick as they had a busy day and wanted to allow the kitchen to catch up! Gone here for years and will not be back! Observed other customers being told the same story!! It would appear the business is not interested in the customer any more, which is such a shame! Note - the terrible attitude was not from the lovely young girl who has just started with the company! Not a great role model from what looked like the Manager!! Atmosphere was tense! Rude rude rude!

Stopped here for tea, a favourite haunt of my vegetarian grandaughter, only to be presented with sticky plastic menus. Very unhygenic. Food was ok but when I got the bill with the request of a compulsory tip I was shocked. I give tips when and where I want. Not to be obliged. I'll not be back.

Very expensive, shoddy garden furniture to sit on outside too. While sitting at table outside waiting for our soup the girl serving us somehow managed to spill the whole carton on my lap, burning top of my leg. Obviously accidental, I was offered napkins to clean myself, eventually found a washroom? If it could be called that. Complained to manager on way out, I wasn't even offered a damp towel or a 1st aid pack. In fact, wasn't offered anything at all, not even a measly discount for my bother. Definitely won't be back. Terrible experience.

We visited for a drink and snack which were very nice although I was genuinely shocked at the £4.50 charged for Peppermint Tea. Even more shocking was the behaviour of one of the dogs present. During our 30 minute stay it barked repeatedly and its bark was horrendously ear piercing, akin to audio torture. The owner kept on giving it treats and despite furious stares from other customers both dog and owner remained unbothered by all the misery caused. Surely there comes a point when such anti social dogs should be asked to leave?

Wonderful food and fabulous coffee. My dairy intolerance was well catered for. The staff were cheery and helpful. The lad who served us was new and told us so, which was helpful to know. Everyone had a first day !! He was super helpful and asked if he wasn’t sure. If there is a criticism it is that the prices are very top end, but then Luss is the ultimate global tourist attraction it seems so it means you can charge what you like I guess. However it was all round a good experience for us

Coffee and cake was absolutely spot on. The toilet affair is an absolute faff. Get some locks fitter with engaged signs on them. Seperately, the worst and most embarrassing part is sat with my children next to a privacy glass window where you can sit and watching other unaware poor guests shadows wiping there bottoms having had a sit on the loo. I did offer a gentle suggestion to a member of staff and was told that the issue was known and on a "LONG TO DO LIST". I then repeated my concerns to a separate member of staff who said "THE OWNERS KNOW ABOUT IT, I EVEN SUGGESTED SOME FILM". This is something that could easily be solved for under £10 with a small section of window film or by painting over the "bottom" pane. I hope my comments have been passed on but will not let it stop me returning, as I said the cakes we had were fantastic! I do hope that the management show some respect to their customers sitting at the table next to the window and those using the facilities by sorting this issue. Lastly a compliment that the toilets were well stocked with feminine sanitary products and baby supplies, wipes etc. Please sort the window, you're letting yourselves down.

This should be a great cafe. The location is good, there is ample custom and the staff are friendly. Unfortunately, as per many cafes and restaurants in the Scottish tourist belt, it is a pretty mediocre affair. Not bad, but devoid of any real attempt to be great. We happened to be sat with a bird’s eye view into the kitchen. Which revealed that our “home made soup” was sourced from a Knorrs carton. The jam for our cream tea was spooned out of a Tesco value strawberry jam jar (rrp £1.25). Add to this the tired decor, the cobwebs across the ceiling and support beams. And a toilet system designed by a madman (basically try every handle until you find a vacant loo) and the experience was cemented as a letdown. This place could be so much more. But sure they do well striving for mediocrity. Just an embarrassment given the number of tourists that must think this is the best Scotland can offer.

What a lovely well presented coffee house. 5 Stars Staff were super friendly and attentive. We arrived mob handed with dogs and they welcomed us with open arms. Amazing coffees. Mocha and Bannoffe Coffees are a must. The lunch was lovely and so were the cakes and scones. They brought water for the dogs without us having to ask and the what seemed to be owner / manager brought over some left over ham for the dogs which was a lovely touch. We were over charged for some additional cakes that we didn’t realise until we left and the table next to us informed us that we had paid for them when they met us in the street. Well at least they didn’t also charge them for the cakes that had been paid for. This did not distract from this being a lovely stop off on our holiday. We will definitely be back. Thanks to all staff for such great service. The Radmall Family ♥️

We popped in for a quick coffee on New Yer's Eve when the village was quite busy. The cafe was busy with no spare tables so the lady took our names and said we would getr a table soon. We were duly called and seated. We both chose flat white coffees and each had a scone which came complete with butter cream and jam. The scone was light and crumbly and had plenty jam and cream to go with it. Everything about the cafe was just right from the decor to the crockery, spotless toilets and excellent coffee. It's not the cheapest cafe but you are in Luss which is a super popular tourist spot and no expense seems to have been spared on the premises and equipment.

Visited with friend. Had enjoyed previous visit but roll today was overpriced and lacking in flavour .While I appreciate costs have increased, £7.90 for what was no more than a large flat dry salad roll is excessive and poor reflection on taking advantage of what is primarily a tourist clientele. Also disappoint to see that although the female staff wore masks at all times , the male server wearing his kilt obviously thought it was a mask for his chin and and no point had it over his mouth, despite greeting customers and serving food to customers.

My husband and myself attended this cafe as it was a favourite of ours. However, today's visit wasn't great. The Lomond latte used to be served in a tall glass/cup. Today it wasn't. However it was deliciou. The let down was the cakes. I had a cup cake, unfortunately it was really small and dry. My husband had carmel apple Betty pie with ice cream. It was the smallest piece of pie I'd seen. Wouldn't mind if the cost reflected the size. The cupcake (which is listed as small cake on the receipt) to my astonishment cost £3.80 and the apple pie (which is listed as large on the receipt) was £4.80, this wasn't including the ice cream, the price of which I can't remember. Whilst the cappuccino and latte were delicious they had also jumped in price by a fair bit. I get it that businesses have lost money over the last 18 months or so but unfortunately on this occasion we didn't feel that we had value for money. Oh another thing the scones on display were not covered initially and people were standing right next to them, hence the reason we didn't buy a scone. However I will say they were eventually covered. Sorry I doubt we will be back as we both felt ripped off.

Anyone who has worked in a decent coffee shop can see the poor practices here. Steaming wand never wiped or flushed out between coffees, absolutely covered in dry milk. Didn’t see the woman rinsing any jugs either, group heads weren’t flushed. Resulted in very poorly made, bland, burnt coffees which were not cheap either. We had 3 coffees, a roll and a scone which came to £20. We come from the northern isles so can sympathise with needing to have higher prices but this was not worth it. We finished what was a lovely day in Luss complementing staff in the village store, ice cream vans etc.Until we came here. Thought we'd have a refreshment before our hour long drive home. Two girls at coffee bar were lovely. We sat outside. But on finishing our drinks I thought I'd use the toilet facilities. It was almost closing and I could see the cafe area was being cleaned so I asked at coffee bar if it was OK to use toilet.I went into cafe to a shreiking woman shouting track and trace. I was a bit perturbed and I looked around to see what she meant. Again she shreaked, behind you Track and trace! Now I am aware of covid rules and was mannerly and courteous myself. I expect the same in return.Did she think I'd walked in from the street? How did she know if I hadn't already tracked and traced!? Also only people in were two kilted men and her. We are being asked to be kind to staff in shops and hospitality. But there is a way of speaking to customers. A friendly request is all that was required.I was so upset at the way she spoke to me I left and resorted to using the dalek inspired toilets at the new car park.I don't think I'll be back!

We intended on coming here for lunch but they only had 2 scones left and they were small and didn't look very tasty, so we decided to just get a coffee each and head elsewhere. It was busy so I'm assuming the food was ok, but it did look pricey for what you got. Coffee was nice though.

Great stop for tea, coffee and ice-cream. Daughter was thrilled to find they have individually wrapped gluten free waffle cones so she could have a proper ice-cream rather than the usual tub. Coffee was lovely, outside seating tranquil and a great little gift shop too. Not the cheapest but nothing in Luss appears to be cheap so call it a treat with idyllic quaint views.

Lovely place good service a bit on the expensive side tho.We stopped in for a coffee & scones which were fresh & a bit on the dry side & crumbly although they were very tasty & served with lashings of cream & a big dollop of strawberry jam.Service was very good & prompt.

Fancied a coffee and chat with a friend, poor service, staff very flustered, coffee weak and overpriced in huge cup but coffee only enough for a one shot cappuccino. Staff chatting among selves certainly not batista level service but certainly would expect that at the inflated price, experience more church fete tea stall. Tad disappointed needs updating to 2021

Nicely located, plenty of space in the front garden and rear courtyards. Attentive (kilted) staff and excellent home made cakes and coffee. Pricey but for a holiday treat very good. Good Covid Protocols with sanitizer at the entrance and on each table.

Nice enough place but very expensive for what you get. Was 21.50 for just a thinly filled tuna roll, two teas and two cakes.

Friendly staff but very pricey. I got the quiche salad and my husband had soup, son had a smoked salmon roll and we had one latte and 2 soft drinks. Bill came to £36!!! Definitely too expensive for what you get!

Not what you need after a 200m trip! Turned up at 4:01 held the door for a woman to let her out not knowing they were closing and then told they were closed. No sorry or anything or you’d think given we’ve just opened up again people would be happy for business and for customers but not that place! They could have served us taken an extra 5mins and no issues as we were drinking outside anyway.

Lucky to have a sunny day, so sat in the outdoor seating area. We had a lovely view of the church. You go into the cafe to order (hand wash by the door) and then they shout if you when your order is ready, to collect through a window. Also hand gel on all the outside tables. We both had the ham and redcurrant stockies. With as my husband described it, proper ham. They do good coffee too.

A lovely cafe with a nice gift shop! The desserts are AMAZING! We definitely recommend the scones :) Some bits in the gift shop are a bit pricey but everything is of great quality and you can find something nice even if you’re on a budget!

Lovely place to stop and grab a ice cream. Luss is a picture perfect, chocolate box village. If you’re in a hurry this isn’t the place for you.

Lovely setting and pleasant enough staff. Unfotunately, rip-off prices to follow - £7.95 for a tuna roll which comes under the description as a "stoki" on the menu, Similar prices for the rest of the menu.

We popped in for an afternoon snack and had delicious scones and tea. Our boys were spoiled for choice choosing a cake as there are so many and all looked fantastic.

It was very busy when we called in for coffee and ended up sitting outside in the rear walled garden area! The coffee was good and we would have added cake but the prices are expensive for what you get! Enjoyed the coffee, though!

We both had soup and it was lovely with a big chunk of fresh bread. Service was very efficient and quick. Only things that surprised us were the price of cans of juice and cakes and the limited menu

This was our second visit to the Coach house but unfortunately we left rather disappointed. We found it very very over priced(7.95 for a tuna roll!) and the food was slightly above average at best. Toilets weren’t the cleanest and I had to ask for napkins and cutlery. When ordering our cakes we’re told there was only one piece caramel apple cake so we had to order something else, only for them to bring a full cake out of the fridge before we left! Unfortunately we probably won’t return unless they reduced the prices substantially. Staff were polite and lots of hand sanitiser available .

This beautiful tardis-like building houses a shop, and both indoor & outdoor seating areas. We chose to sit in a quirky conservatory area, with a beautiful mossy indoor/outdoor wall as our backdrop. All the staff we spoke to were super friendly, and despite it being busy, it felt very covid-secure and we were never rushed along. I noted the toilets were also very clean.Generous lashings of tea (honestly, the teapot was enormous) washed down two of the most delicious scones. I had a feta & olive scone (bear with me) which was soft & moist with a crisp savoury outer crust, served with soft whipped cheese & cranberry jam. Stonking. OH went for traditional cream & jam scone; also agreeing it was one of the best.I really don't know why there are so many comments about it being expensive - bemused as to where these people must eat - but for £13, we thought this was excellent value. We even considered stopping in on the way home for takeaway scones :)

Was expecting great quality fresh food . But very disappointed . Looking forward to local mussels but off the menu . Scallops were fresh but the sauce let it down and the bread was stale and expensive . Both in the end had fish and chips , that was two very small pieces of fish each , couldn't hardly see any fish , most likely frozen due to the texture and appearance . Staff were excellent and beer was good

I am giving you an excellent review based on previous visits but arrived Thursday 14th November at 11:15 and it was closed. Website says open at 10:00 and opening time on door says 10:30. Several people left disappointed during my 20min seat on bench. Off to Port Bannatyne for my brunch. Can you update your opening hours on door and social media platforms.

What an absolute find. This place was amazing in every way. The staff are welcoming, friendly and so attentive. The food was out of this world. Would definitely recommend 100% and will be back. Just wish we had found it at the start of our holiday and not at the end

Met up with a friend for lunch today. ALWAYS reliably happy with our meals at The Esplanade over the many years.... But today's young chef was very astute with his skills. We had *Cullen skink, the baguette was fresh and warmed....so often it is not; (it's the little things like this that make you come back,), *fish n chips, and *incredibly chunky steak pie, with a lid rising up to the ceiling I'm my opinion all 3 meals really were the best examples on the island. Well done to: *The Esplanade for keeping up the standards of quality which bring people back * The Chef * The always friendly and helpful waitress 😁 (Love the new curtains and furnishings 😁)
