Great little stop and interesting town. Stopped on our way to Inverness and just made an order before their deadline. The restaurant was closing an hour earlier than google posted. We had soup and sandwiches: minted pea soup was great and I had the crazy Sammy of the day; panini with tuna, bacon, Brie cheese, cranberries, and mayo. Scoff if you will: it was great!!!! Hubs had a hamburger which arrived with a fried egg on it: he loved it. The owner was warm and struck up a conversation with us on the town when we asked. In all a great little place for lunch.

Coffee was good although disappointed there is no full breakfast despite it being advertised online. Overall, very overpriced in general. If they bring back the full breakfast, I would maybe give this place another chance. The pancakes and syrup were great though. We got two cappacicounos, one roll sausage and egg and pancakes and it was £28. This is robbery.

What a privilege to enjoy the Cullen skink and fish and chip meal. This is an out of the way place to visit but should be on everybody's Journey! they do not serve lunch until 12:00 sharp! no exceptions! So instead I had a shot of the whiskey liqueur at 11:00 in the morning; whereas, the locals were consistently coming in and getting a breakfast sandwich made on a homemade roll. Btw, it is inside the fishery University on the main floor. the food was amazing!

Medium sized, independent izakaya style place on Broughton St. Quite dark and plain inside. But the food and service were absolutely fantastic. Delicious and original cocktails, very friendly waiting staff who were quick to help with anything on the menu, and a wide range of clientele from couples to young families to those with older children. Style is Japanese sharing plates - great balance of meat, fish and veg options, and mostly gluten free. They recommend 3-4 plates per person - we ordered 3 plates each and this was a bit too much - portions are generous. The rice and the potato dishes in particular are large.

Absolutely gutted to find this place had ceased trading, since our last visit in August 22. This hidden gem was part of our journey down south for the past 7 years, after stumbling on it by accident. It offered a hearty meal for a fraction of the price they charge, at a service station

Great service and excellent quality food. Locally sourced produce. Breakfast bap with haggis. Yum. We were blessed with a beautiful day, so took advantage of the outdoor seating. Superb views. Little treat for the dog. Great food, great coffee, great service...what's not to love?
