Was expecting great quality fresh food . But very disappointed . Looking forward to local mussels but off the menu . Scallops were fresh but the sauce let it down and the bread was stale and expensive . Both in the end had fish and chips , that was two very small pieces of fish each , couldn't hardly see any fish , most likely frozen due to the texture and appearance . Staff were excellent and beer was good

Great outlook. Good choice of beer. Popular with locals. However, I saw they had been included in the GoodBeer Guide 2025 . As a member of CAMRA, I gave my card over and showed my voucher. The person who was serving was friendly said she would ask. . No deal, sorry not able to accept. The bloke came from the back, who clearly was the landlord or manager then started serving behind bar and boy what an attitude, no charm at all. Shame really as he spoiled our visit. It may be the end of the season, but no need to be rude.

Went on both evening we stayed in Fionnphort. On the first night we had a meal in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful and efficient. I had the vegetable curry which was fine, I would have preferred more spice but accept that is personal preference and they are catering for those who like it mild. My partner had the fish & chips which she said were good. On the second night the restaurant was closed so went for a drink in the bar. Again the staff (John) was friendly and helpful. There was a huge selection of whisky while my partner had wine. A

Another excellent meal at the Keel Row. This time Sunday lunch. We chose the roast beef but there were plenty of other tempting options. The beef was superb and plentiful, lots of interesting vegetables too. We both went for the delicious lemon meringue pie for dessert but a difficult choice as the other options were also favourites. Staff really pleasant and efficient and we were very impressed by attention to detail.

Are you people who thought it was great speaking about the same place we went to for dinner. I have used the keel row for many many years, and NEVER HAVE WE BEEN SO DISSAPOÍNTED..... I had booked the table back in May for my husbands birthday dinner. We walked in told them who we were they showed us a table, so we sat down waiting for a waitress to ask if we would like a drink. 30mins later after visiting the bar myself the drink arrived, we had ordered Prosecco which was not properly chilled. Eventually we ordered our meals. Waited a further hour, until they appeared. My husbands steak costing nearly £30 he said was the worst steak he had ever eaten. My pan fried salmon had never seen a pan, it was done under the grill.and my daughter's and my veg were supposed to be seared well they had been boiled within an inch of their lives. As some sort of compensation we were offered a cheese platter, and 2 small bottles of Prosecco. My and my daughters [who is a qualified chef] is that we will never visit again, which is a great shame as it used to be so good. My advice to you prospective customers is BUYER BEWARE. its very amature and slip shod, also the toilets want a really good clean. We were afraid of picking something up.😒

It was almost as if they hadn't expected to open the day we turned up for lunch. The guy behind the bar taking our order acted like customers were unexpected. The food turned up promptly however and was, at best, ok. My fishcakes were dry and bland but the green veg was well cooked and tasty. My partner's coleslaw was discoloured and looked like it had been on the plate for a day or two but his chicken burger was okay. Shame, as there is a steady stream of ferry customers to cater for.

Travelled from Craignure into Finnophert. Stopped off for lunch at a little pub/restaurant named the Keerl Row. What a lovely welcoming atmosphere within and such friendly accomodating staff. Had a bar lunch, I had steak & fries, food was delicious, steak cooked to my requirements, only complaint, plate seemed a bit under presented...sorry. Had a chat with one of the staff members named Clare. She was really friendly and appeared very knowledgeable about the Island, giving us a few good tips regarding where to find beautiful beaches, the beaches you directed us to were absolutely picturesque. ..thanks for that Clare. All in all.. I would return to this little pub again...loved the relaxed homely atmosphere.

My wife and I turned up at 7pm as per our booking. We ordered one starter and two main courses. The starter arrived at about 19.40 and it was very nice. The mains were eventually served to us at 20.37 by which time the restaurant was nearly empty. The servers were embarrassed as the problem appeared to be in the kitchen. When paying I commented again on the long wait for our food but said it wasn't the fault of the servers. Summary- good food but terrible service.

The locals have done a great job of bringing this pub and restaurant back to life, but there is a little work on the detail to be done. The menu choice is reasonable, put does not make enough use of some of the local food that is available. They have local steak, but no local seafood, or if it is local it is not advertised as such. There are no specials. The food was tasty and the portions were a good size and well presented. The restaurant has a fantastic view out of the front window, but the layout of the restaurant means that not all guests can see it. Turning some of the tables round by 90 degrees would change this. My partner had a great view, whilst I was looking at the toilets. Not great when the solution is so simple. The service was mediocre. Asking what ciders were in stock was met with a response of being told they just sold a draft apple cider. During the meal we saw into the fridge, where there were a whole range of fruit ciders. Similarly a request for a rose win was not met with an offer of choices which were available, but the waitress made the choice. The waitresses did not seem very happy to be there. The lady behind the bar was lovely and very welcoming. The waitresses need to learn from her. The starters were brought promptly. 40 minutes later the mains arrived. No apology and no explanation. That is simply not good enough. There was also no check, either during the starters or mains that the food was ok. Finally, the waitresses were happy to stand at the bar, but not taking empty glasses off of the table and checking whether new drinks were required. If fresh drinks were required you had to call one of the waitresses over. Although the restaurant says booking is essential, we saw several guests come in with no booking and get tables. It is a shame the service did not match the location. If the service was better and the menu choices a little better the restaurant would be perfect.

Deprived of my Tamnavulin whisky by my wife, who suddenly acquired a taste for it, we ordered another couple, and they all went down smoothly. They don't have a reservation list but they are very efficient. However, get a drink at the bar, request seating for supper and then find a seat in the bar and your wait for a table (in adjacent room) doesn't seem that long.Friendly locals and we enjoyed a locals' music night with accordion and guitars.

High points: We got to know the fella running the restaurant and could have spent an age with him. Average points: The food. Not a low point as such but decidedly ok. My curry was fine. Tasted just like the one I make at home. Which is very workaday. Husband’s venison mush was fine he said. But pesto oil? Instead of olive oil with balsamic? For a nibble? No thanks and never again. Expect to pay about £14 for a main course. For me, that’s way over priced. But what do I know? One lady was so impressed with what she had (I’m assuming that wasn’t bread and pesto oil or curry) she handed over a massive tip on her way out. I left a more modest one as the chatter was nice and the food cane quickly and was piping hot. But that’s it. No big shakes and no catastrophes. Just.... ok.

Restaurants exist because of us. We rely, when needed, on restaurants, poor restaurants cease, quickly, to exist - symbiosis. When you are the only gig in town and you are rude, ignorant, condescending and serve adequate and highly overpriced food then we, the customer, choke. Irony. We know living in the isles is expensive, value and politeness to the Tourists, costs you nothing. Start spending, will you? Go to this place, only because you have to. The kids serving were awesome. Would like to review food here, but none eaten. We arrived at 6pm when it opens, to be told we had to wait 1 1/2 hours to eat. No way. They do not take bookings, nor is there any information posted to tell you how the system works. When we asked we were told they start to take bookings at 5pm. We had not been told this the previous day. Well, they plainly have enough customers not to bother telling people how to book. But I think it’s appallingly bad service. You have been warned.

Visited here twice during our stay on Mull and it's a lovely pub. The staff are rely nice and you can sit outside and watch the sheep grazing on the grass outside.

I asked the waiter, whether the expensive "roast cod" on the menu was fresh or defrosted and where it came from. He disappeared for 5 minutes "to ask", came back and said "I don't know!" End of discussion. I ordered the haddock. Big mistake: dry as a bone, absolutely tastless (and the most expensive I had in Scotland). My wife was served a lukewarm pint of Lager. I complained. The waitress wordlessly took it away and came back with a niceley cold. No excuses, just the rather silly explanation "they may have used a warm glass."

We called in for a pint 2 days in a row, and the guest ale was different and good on both occasions. A nice place to sit outside when weather permits. Would be nice to see more Scottish beers though!

This is it for suppers. Unless you've made a reservation at Ninth Wave (6 months). Waits of 1-1/2 hour to be seated, but (you owe me!) stop by at 5 to be listed for 6! Food is good, thank G-d.

Because it just .... works. And the food is very good, locally sourced and served with a knowledgeable and friendly approach. There are relatively few family friendly restaurants in the area. This is probably the best. Mark Agatha and Alice

We stopped here for a drink on a walk back From Iona to our campsite. Pint and a half of cider cost £6.60. Not sure if that’s a tourist price as I can’t believe locals would pay that! We only had the one!

This place has a tiny kitchen so arrive early if you want to eat. We were really impressed with the food and staff (more later) but particularly impressed with how they manage numbers. You can start requesying a table for dinner about 5pm and when the restaurant opens at 6pm 4 tables are let in. Everyone else puts their name on a list and are called in order meaning that the little kitchen can keep pace with orders without a long eait for customers... good plan!

This is a small restaurant in Fionnphort, and to manage the volume of people seeking to eat there, they operate on a strictly first come first served basis. They are only open between 6 and 8pm, though the bar is open much longer.

It's one of those with limited restaurants in area, so seriously overpriced for what you receive. Owner quite boorish bordering on belligerent which helps seal a poor ambience. The food itself was barely Passable and not at normal bar food level. Better eating on Iona.

Functional. There was a suspicion that the restaurant was exploiting its monopoly in the village - there is also the excellent Ninth Wave, but much more expensive and a very different experience and the ferries to nearby Iona stop around 6 pm. The manager gave the impression that he was doing customers a favour. The food was ok, though both the chicken and the pasta were slightly overdone. It was very definitely overpriced, much more expensive than one would pay in a similar establishment in Edinburgh and not as good.

We called here for a drink after being on the Isle of Iona. We were staying local on self catering so asked to look at the dinner menu. We thought it was a good and menu so called back later for dinner. We got there at about 6:30 and when we ordered our drinks the lady behind the bar told us to go into the restaurant and tell the man there we wanted a table. This we did and was told it would be about a 30 minute wait. When he called us in he showed us to our table and give us a menu and said there was a special of Salmon cooked in a pepper and garlic sauce which we both chose. When it came it looked delicious and was delicious. we went back the following evening and had the roast pepper soup and fish and chips. All I can say is we both enjoyed the meals and the friendly atmosphere in the bar and restaurant.

We wanted a meal around 7:30 and they were very busy and restaurant full, so could only give us take away (their only choice for eating on the non-booked outside tables), and even that not till 9:00. Fair enough, they warned us in advance of the delay and we were really grateful that they would give us something. When 9:00 came there was lots of room in the bar (and lots of midges outside, a bit early this year), but they wouldn't let us eat our food in the bar ... because the food was takeaway!? All sort of understandable, but it was the grumpy way they handled it all that put us off, particularly after the usual highland hospitality we had got used to. Maybe they were just very tired after a long day?

It’s rather disconcerting to sit down by a cosy log burner and hear Radio Head wailing away in the background. Bit of a dull place this, with a limited beer choice. We thought it might be charming given its location, but it was adequate-nothing more.

nice ambience with great staff and service, but the bar lunch menu had a disappointing set of choices and the food served was way below par for a top bar lunch

We actually ate lunch in the pub and dinner and breakfast in the dining room. Both meals were pretty good. Let's face it though, you do not really have a choice as there is nothing else around so luckily the food and prices were not bad.

Mediocre food, scruffy premises need a makeover, 1 member of staff pleasant, other 1 abrupt and would benefit from a customer relations course
