Pretty good. Very friendly staff and a nice shop connected to it where you can get fresh fruit and veg. Plenty of options including vegan. Nice options for small children too.

My fiancée and I whilst visiting my mother in law to be/ mum came across this great find. We thought we’d stop for a coffee. Wasn’t that hungry but, I went for a scone as they were recommended. They tasted amazing. Not only that, I had to cut into three as I couldn’t fit it into my mouth. Would highly recommend. Coffee was great too. Next time we’re back to visit I will Be trying they’re freshly made pies. Jams are also homemade. We look forward to our return. Jon and Wendy

I pop into Molly’s very frequently to pick up scones and cake to go for my close by family. However when sitting in they need to improve their service particularly at breakfast time on a Saturday. If a group of workmen come in after you then bad luck, you’ll be waiting over an hour for your breakfast!

We walked along the nearby Water of Leith on a beautiful Sunday morning and could'd nesist popping into Mollys. It's friendly, incredibly popular with locals and regular walkers and it also houses a deli with organic produce. You can even buy a paper to browse through while enjoying a coffee. The coffee and specialised tea was piping hot and the fruit scone devine so if you are in Juniper Green don't miss the opportunity to drop into Mollys. They do breakfasts and soups as well as scrumptious cakes.

Found Mollys having come up off the Water of Leith Walk...and what a find! Great looking coffee shop and local village store - but the array of home baking which meets the eye is just amazing - what to choose??? The cheese and the fruit scones looked great -but we were advised of a number of different options including banana and walnut - which we just had to try. Oh my word - Fantastic!! We loved the way the butter is portioned on a tray with three pots of home made preserves to help yourself or to mix and match with a spoonful of each. The scones were warmed and with the combination of preserves were excellent - so good in fact that we took a carry out to go! Mollys is sadly not local to us but we will definitely go out of our way to return, not least when the apple and cinnamon scones are on offer. Staff lovely and friendly and the cafe area clean and well presented by owners who clearly take pride in this business. Adjoining shop great too with lots of lovely food on offer which was very tempting - but if we had not been walking and in the car we would have bought a few indulgent things from the attractive selection on offer. Highly recommended and we will be back!

Molly's is a bit overcrowded with too many tables and chairs. The soup was very nice but the scones too big and crumble when opened. The bother to get to the back of the room to get jam and butter was another problem with moving in between tables and chairs whilst people were sitting in them and having to apologise to get past.

We were delighted to find - when almost everything was closed because of "the beast from the East" - that Molly's cafe remained open. The full Scottish breakfast (egg, mushrooms, bacon, sausage, haggis, black pudding, tomato, tattie scones, toast) was just what was needed as the depressing weather conditions continued over a period of days. The next day I went for the Vegetarian breakfast - delicious sausages as well as tattie scones, beans, egg, toast, tomato, mushrooms. The coffee is delicious. The jams are home made. Having recently moved to the area, Molly('s) is our new best friend, punctuating all our walks and cycles along the Water of Leith: for hearty soups and even heartier scones at lunchtime, or great coffee and afternoon cakes (The display is in itself a spectator sport). We had dinner there last Thursday and the steaks were superb: faultlessly cooked (and priced, it has to be said) to our tastes and with charming service from Steven. The only drawback was the company; we were the sole diners. Come on Colinton and Juniper Green eaters-out; forget the price-inflated and often shonky (well, at the least, risky) dining experiences 'up town', and support this great local business; it's friendly, delicious and great value.

We've eaten breakfast (at noon... but what you want after a nice walk along the Leith Water Walkway) and I tell you: The best scones in town. Don't miss it, try it! Very friendly personal, nice and clean. Ok, after a three hour walk I felt more for a hamburger for lunch (they have a nice card, they offer a salad buffet, soup etc. but the hamburger is offered for dinner…). So I tried the scones. Guess that it was worth to walk that distance for it. Molly’s is a real nice place and there is a direct stairway down to the walkway or, in our case, from the walkway up.Well, as I couldn’t taste the hamburger, I will give four of five points (as well as I hope that the very clean restroom will get some improvements too, like they say on a writing on the wall). So: If you are in Edinburgh, take the 44 to Juniper Green (or walk along the Leith Water Walkway) and try those scones, with a great coffee or hot chocolate.

This is a fantastic find! I live close by but have always chosen other coffee shops. I should have used before as it is superb!! Very good home cooking and the baking is fresh and wholesome. Highly recommend their soup and the cake had just been baked. If I were to change anything it would be to brighten up the inside a bit with lighter coloured tables and chairs which are a little old fashioned but it does not take away from the fact that this is a very good little bistro coffee shop and should be used by all the locals. I would definitely go back and it far exceeds the other coffee shops round about by a mile for quality and service. It gets 5 stars from me and I am fussy

Superb cakes, low prices, quirky atmosphere. Highly recommended.Earlier in the day, we'd spotted a deli-cafe across the road and had intended to eat there. After a swim in Harlaw Reservoir (bracing cold water but clean, with beautiful scenery), we returned through Juniper Green to go to the other cafe... but it was full, every seat taken. Instead, we nipped over to Molly's which was empty. Not a good sign. Due to lack of other options, we went in...And we've so glad we did! What an incredible array of cakes! Wow this lady is one talented baker. We were actually needing lunch but Molly's doesn't serve 'lunch' - it's all cuppas and cakes. So we had the most lunch-y cake: a scone. My friend had the imaginative cheese, bacon & spring onions scone; I had the conservative traditional fruit scone. Both were everything a good scone should be: large, good texture holding together (not crumbly), and plenty of flavour. There were three (homemade? I think so) jams on the dresser at the back of the room, plus room-temperature butter. The jam was very fruity, not sugary & gloopy like cheap stuff. I'd like to be able to comment on the coffee but with these generously-sized scones, we simply had two pots of tea. Which was delicious (then again, any hot tea is like nectar after a wild swim). We wonder why Molly's doesn't serve more lunch food... a 'quiche of the day' would do, or a homity pie.The interior of the cafe is a mixture of old dark furniture so it's teetering between unfashionable and shabby chic, and somehow feels like you're sitting in someone's large dining room. A bit of unobtrusive background music would have been good. A sign in the bathroom proclaims a makeover is planned. And all the cake-decorating kit is towards the back of the room, heaped up like children's toys, rather than away in boxes. Clearly loads of love and attention goes into the baking here, so when that diligence is applied to the decor, Molly's will be a tip-top tea-&-cake venue. We also bought, to take home, two sandwich biscuits: each one was two chunky palm-sized gingerbread star-shapes with a filling of orange-flavoured buttercream. I haven't eaten mine yet - it's almost too pretty to destroy by consuming it... We wish the new owner loads of luck and hope the locals make it their regular, and tourists like us find it. Highly recommended, and make sure you go hungry: you'll want to try more than one cake!

We popped in here on the way home being in need of a cuppa. The lady owner was very friendly and the cakes we had were delicious - were spoilt for choice! Lots of nice touches such as a variety of hot chocolate flavours to choose from and different flavoured jams for scones added to the homely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area.

I found this gem of a cafe whilst visiting clients in Juniper Green. The cafe itself was under new management, with home baking taking prominence on the counter. I must say, this is the best cafe I have visited in a long time and I visit a lot of them over the course of a week. I now make a point of stopping there a couple of times a week. Well worth a visit!

Ok so the wife won a competition on Facebook for a dessert. She chose banoffee. Wow absolutely gorgeous. Thick whipped cream, lots of toffee, fresh banana and a scrumptious Biscuit base. I will be back............. Outstanding stuff

We were big fans of this coffee shop under its previous management and so wondered how it would feel to visit now that it's under new management and called "Molly's". The good news is that the cakes are just as delicious. Phew! Not only that but the owner is very friendly. I'm sure we'll be back. Also of interest were the cake-decorating classes run here in the evenings. Worth looking into.

A cold morning out for a walk took us here for a coffee. A small eatery serving home made food made by friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. There was even space for a baby buggy. The menu is

Bang average coffee. Congratulations to the management for having the nerve to add a service charge for takeaway orders. We will not be back.

A warm welcome from hosts fro this absolutely beautiful bed and breakfast in Edinburgh. Room exceptionally clean and cosy. Very good quality bedding and towels. There is nothing that I can fault with
