Himali Indian Restaurant Kilsyth in North Lanarkshire

Ordered a meal tonight & I don’t know what was going on? Really disappointed - normally get amazing food and great service. Tonight had the family round and knew where to order when we wanted food, opted for collection & when got there it was chaos lots of people and staff seemed to have no control or system to sort the orders and get them to the right people. Resulting in us having several missing items when we got home. Upon phone call it was suggested that they would sort us next time - but it was peoples dinner, had to go back to collect the rest as they would be over an hour to deliver what was missed. Popadoms were smashed into bite size pieces. Pakora sauce tasted over powering cinnamon flavoured. And the South Indian garlic chilli chicken was some weird smoked paprika tasting dish. Hope this was just a one off guys as it’s always been spot on before!

We ate in here on a whim after a long day of work in the garden. We had worked up an appetite, and I'm glad we had as the food was plentiful and delicious. The staff were lovely and attentive and the small restaurant was busy. We don't get time away from the kids often so I'm glad we came to such a nice place. We'll be ordering takeaway from here soon I'm sure.

Good quality Indian food at a reasonable price, one we will certainly return to. There is parking nearby. Only challenge would be the stairs - for people with mobility issues this isn't really an option.

Himali has got to be the best indian for miles,do not listen to negative reviews, try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed

One of the worst food I ever had . We ordered takeaway from here and the food wasn’t tasty at all. The biryani was literally like mixture of curry and rice. Madras curry was also so disappointing. I would say just the wastage of money ordering from here. We didn’t like it and threw all of the food .

My first time at Himali for a takeaway on recommendation of a friend. It has been a stressful week, moving house, so my wife and I were up to treating ourselves to special Friday night dinner. We had spiced onions and popadoms, mixed pakora, achari chicken tikka with nan and rice. We were not disappointed! Bursting with fresh flavours, beautifully cooked chicken and vegetables. A party in your mouth from the first bite of delicious pakora. Very welcoming staff and an inviting atmosphere for a sit in dinner. I was lucky enough to have visited Nepal a while ago, so I look forward to Himali's momos next time. So lucky to have an outstanding establishment just a few minutes walk away. A jewel in Kilsyth's crown.

Takeaway- fast delivery, food is amazing. Would say its the best Indian/Nepalese restaurant in Kilsyth and local areas. Dining in- Welcoming host upon arrival and great service. Feels like a personal service as it has a smaller dining space, better for dining to have conversion with family, friends or business meetings. Restaurant is clean, cosy and food is amazing as well as the price. (No wheelchair access, difficult for people that struggle with stairs.)

Good selection of veg dishes, tried chana masala and it was very good. Chicken chat were amazing n also the butter chicken. Absolutely loved the food n will order again.

We found this by accident. The food is excellent, the staff are really friendly and you don’t feel rushed to order. I would recommend this to anyone looking for one of the best Indian restaurants.

I'd given 10 stars if I could & im not easy pleased.. everything was excellent from start to finish.. Great prices too .. pre theatre menu is great value .. this is the best Indian food I've had since I was 16 im 59 now... top quality.. Will definitely be back 100%.

First time trying Himali, was very impressed. The starters of fish pakora and onion bhaji were plentiful, my partners chicken tikka masala was excellent, as was my chicken jaipuri. All food was delivered on time and was piping hot, can’t give the Himali enough praise. Please keep up the excellent work. Also the young man who delivered our order was polite and respectful.

I look forward to visiting, hopefully soon. Reading the reviews I have got to say I have never eaten here with New management, But I have eaten when the Gulistan. Quite a few times , and mostly to my disappointment my meal so many times was way under cooked. Even raw at times. So Cheers 🍻. Wishing tou the very Best 👌

We had another sit in meal last night and have had several take aways delivered. The food has been top class every time and the atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and friendly with very helpful staff. You would probably pay double for this standard if it was in the city centre. Glad we booked ahead as the place was full and deservedly so. Highly recommended in our book.

Had our first sit in last night and weren't disappointed. Food was to the usual high standard, Isla and Sunder were very helpful and attentive. Back to takeaways for the time being but we'll be back!

My husband and I had a really lovely meal tonight. We had Tandoori Mix & South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken. Absolutely delicious and great value for money. Lovely atmosphere & staff are really friendly and welcoming. It was quite busy, there was a good buzz about the place. We've had a few takeaway's from here as well and the food is always amazing. The Butter Chicken is superb 🙌😋 Will defo be back👌

This is a proper treat. I absolutely love the Tandoori Prawns and the Coconut Naan. As an ex chef I can honestly say, this is a top top top place. The spinach and mushroom curry with prawns. Omg. And as I often say to your delivery driver "buonjurno!" 😆

Only ever had takeaways but usually have them weekly. Easily the best Indian takeaway in the area. The king prawns are enormous, everything is fresh. The staff are friendly and helpful and the drivers are great too 11/10

Complete waste of money chicken korma was tasteless chicken was dry prawn chasni was tiny wee prawns and nothing like a chasni I think it was made with a tin of tomato soup and was also tasteless I would sack the chef if he even is one ! It cost a fortune and not even the rice was edible .I used the gullistan every week but will never be back in there again dreadful not even Indian food ,,,

Food was good but £3.85 for a pint of draught cola not for me

Been coming for months for a takeaway and always been exceptional but tonight we were missing part of of order. 3 attempts to get through on the phone as no one answering then another call to chase up the missing item which in the end took an hour to be delivered. I believe they have now opened up to Just Eat so between normal takeaway orders, sit in restaurant and Just Eat this is now too much to handle and is sadly having an effect on the service and also the quality of the food. Shame!

Lovely Indian food, could do with more Nepali influence as Nepali curry is sweeter and not quite as spicy as Indian but none the less the food was great.

Honestly the best Indian food I have tasted in 20years. The chicken tikka curry and garlic nan bread is phenomenal. I have had a few takeaways from here now and everytime it has been amazing. I will defo be going in sometime soon for a sit in meal and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good Indian food. 👍200% rating from me x

In here for dinner last night to celebrate Stewart 60th birthday and did not disappoint. The meal was superb as was the service and very accommodating re ballon’s cake etc. great wee restaurant right on our doorstep, no mucking about looking for taxis…..win win. Thanks for everything Himal

Lovely, hot, freak and tasty Indian food. Best Butter Chicken I've ever had! Staff were efficient. Toilets are immaculate.

Have sat in twice and got 2 takeaways so far and can not fault it. Very friendly and food is amazing. Will definitely be back.

Just had our first delivery from here. South indian garlic chilli chicken.chicken chasni both delicious chicken pakora and vegetable pakora also brilliant think delivered within 20 minutes ..superb

We have had 4 takeaways the past 2 months and each time the food was just perfect. We have tried different dishes each time and I can honestly say, each one was lovely. So glad we have this restaurant in our town. Would recommend 200%.

Second visit to Himali and yet again we were very pleased with it. Very helpful friendly service, comfortable relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. We went for my partners birthday and staff very kindly agreed to surprise her by bringing out her cake with candles after our meal. Everyone the proceeded to sing happy birthday to her. Despite being embarrassed, she felt very honoured and it made a perfect end to her day so thank you all at Himali once again 🥰

This restaurant has recently been taken over, which was the old gulistan. What a difference. Went there for dinner Tuesday evening. Service and quality of food was exceptional and good value for money. You’ve got to try this for yourself. You will not be disappointed. 👍

Excellent food. The Chicken Chatt was bigger than I am used to. I had Chicken Jaipuri with the chicken cooked in a traditional coal fired Tandoor. You could taste it in the chicken. Generous portions and delicious. Sundar Singh, part owner, is an excellent host. Give it a try.

Just picked up my order asked for a well fired nan which was obviously reheated in a microwave as it was soggy the meal it's self was warm and I was told it was just made NOT

Fantastic little Indian. Very high quality food . Portions awesome not too much not too small. Pakora is lovely very much a fan of the haggis. Lovely intimate Indian dining experience. Staff really friendly and will definitely be back.

The food was good, but I would recommend not supplying contact information to this restaurant. Original review: I'm staying in an Airbnb around the corner, and having found this restaurant on Google Maps, I ordered a takeaway from their website. The ordering process was really easy, and when I wandered over to collect my food, the staff were really friendly and my food was ready and piping hot. My curry was really delicious, great depth of flavour and well spiced, and just enough heat for my taste. The pilau rice and poppadoms were also excellent. Sadly I'm only here for one night, but I will be looking for excuses to come back to Kilsyth to eat here again!

Excellent food had a slight blip with delivery but was rectified and compensated quickly buy far best Indian takeaway in kilsyth will be ordering again soon as food was fantastic

I live in kilsyth where this lovely restaurant is based and I order a delivery almost every weekend. Quick service and the delivery drivers are kind and helpful. The curries, pakora, and the rest, absolutely Delicious. I just ordered before yet another call to make an order. I'm extremely Satisfied.😎

Just wanted to highlight that we have had take away from here twice now, both occasions food was great, authentic and full of flaviour, not bland like the local curry shops. Bit more expensive however you get what you pay for! Well done, please keep your authenticity going !! 👍
