Another family meal and the only problem is the huge range of amazing meals to choose from....can't wait to come back
And the birthday balloon and cake were an added bonus, my wife was very pleased
We were seated straight away. We had soup which was so tasty and my friend had a fruit scone and he was chuffed to bits there was homemade Raspberry Jam. The earl grey tea was the best I've had for ages and millionaires short bread was just right not too sickly. Thank you for making us welcome, we will be back.
We visited the Quiach for dinner with our dog when staying at a local caravan park.
The Quiach had a really warm, welcoming atmosphere for us & the dog who was greeted with pats, treats & water. Service was really exceptional.
Menu was basic, a few of the small plates were sold out but the food we did have (fish & chips with a side of onion rings) was really good - well presented, big portions, well cooked and tasty.
Would recommend.
First time visiting Scott's and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was excellent, great starters and then the mains - beef roast had an array of vegetables & fab roast potatoes - the Butter Chicken curry flavoursome & great seasoning. Service was equally good, attentive, friendly staff
Highly recommend & we will return
Amazing friendly place, just visited first time after moving to the area. Really can’t fault anything friendly staff excellent food good quality. We will be back
Ordered dinner at the cafe garden, one glass of wine, one bottle of beer, and 2 lasagna dinners.
We waited over half an hour and eventually had to go and ask as to where our order was, guess what they forgot!.... It then appeared with one utensil, a fork! I had to ask for knives and napkins. The mince of of dubious quality.
We were told the salad was coming, so just started a little of the lasagna as we were hungry, to find it luke warm 😡 the portion size was very meager and when the salad arrived, we were both both presented with a plate of lettuce leaves, just theown on a plate with what seemed like a splash of vinegar!
We paid £48 for what could only be described as a bad '70s school dinner!
Very disappointed given the beautiful, tranquil location.
We expected vastly better quality and portion size for our money. We felt like we were robbeda
We would most certainly not recommend this place for food.
A stunning hotel and restaurant, beautifully decorated and in a beautiful location.
On the way in we saw two stags in the surrounding grounds, looking majestic.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the whole place had such a community feel as they knew a lot of the diners, it really does seem to be the place to go for a meal.
We are in the bar area as we had our dog, the staff, the food was beautiful, fresh fish and chips were the best I've eaten, and a steak which looked amazing and cooked to perfection.
Then the desserts, creme brulee and a sticky toffee pudding - again perfect.
We can't wait to be back on Uist to visit again.
I visited Thomas Tosh last week while passing through Thornhill. Delighted to see that my favourite lemon and raisin cake is back on the menu, and that as always, the coffee, service and general atmosphere is good as ever! Thanks again to the staff, will be back next time I’m in the area
