The best restaurants in Scotland

The staff were happy to accommodate my dietary restrictions after I accidentally ordered food containing something I couldn't eat... They're great!

I arrived here as the only place open for breakfast in Findhorn. Granola and fruit was quite the largest bowl I’ve ever been served, I nearly didn’t have room for a freshly baked scone. Very community feel with lots of notices, but great quality and value food, staff were friendly and cheerful.

We chose to eat here because we had looked at the menu and decided this was the place to go. The staff were welcoming and gave us a table and took our order quickly. However the restaurant was cold...really cold. Our meal came and the food was lovely, couldn't fault it. However within 10 mins it was cold and couldn't eat it because it had gone as cold. We had to put our jackets back on, we had planned on dessert and coffee, but we were freezing, it was uncomfortable so decided to finish our drinks, get the bill and go. I really wouldn't recommend table 3 at the window. The girl who brought the bill did apologise. Shame though I was looking forward to the mars bar pakora.

My partner and I visited The Pepperpot with a couple of family members for Sunday lunch. We took advantage of the three-course set lunch (priced at £20.95) which had a good choice of roast meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes included

This is a takeaway only service. It's quite pricey. Steak pie £4.50, late coffee £3.50. Very nice service

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Excellent food and generous portions served by very courteous and pleasant staff. The nan bread was enormous😂. We will definitely return.👍

We picked up a takeaway on Xmas Eve for our Xmas dinner and it was brilliant, generous portions and very tasty food. It was an excellent Xmas Dinner.

Tasty fish and chips in good portion size. Interesting menu includes deep fried pizza. Cheery staff. Next to a car park in central Alyth.

Stopped in past for a quick coffee and cakes. Was pleasantly impressed with the service, nice coffee and scones. Toilets were lovely, clean and fresh smelling too!

Stopped off at the outside seating for lunch. The ham and cheese ultimate toastie with the chilli jam was excellent served with crisps and side salad. Egg mayonnaise sandwich was equally good. Good sized cappuccino coffees.

Very disappointed - Really! £8 for a bowl of Heinz tomato soup. Such cheffing finesse - not. Disappointed to say the very least.

We checked the face book site before setting off which clearly stated the cafe was open. Hiked over 4 hours and when we got there it was closed. Very annoyed. It would be helpful if they could keep their on line pages up to date and make it clear when it is closed. There were several other people there who were let down as well. The car park was full and there were a lot of hikers too so losing a lot of business and letting a lot of people down.
