Had a brilliant meal . Food was exquisite staff delightful. Surroundings in the dining room very tasteful and boutique.
I would highly recommend this restaurant and have indeed spread the word .

Wow just WOW we booked for 26 people for a Friday night, staff were so welcoming making sure everyone's glasses were topped up all night, really friendly and so quick when serving, food was amazing from the starter platters put out for everyone to making sure all our mains were out together on top of keeping everyone else in the restaurant happy, can't wait to go back
We have been to the Clachan many times. The atmosphere is great and staff are always friendly and welcoming. Food is also exceptional! Would highly recommend.
Visited as a family group of three for first time. Starters and main courses were all excellent and service was first class. Owner took time to answer our questions on the menu and we will certainly be back.

Excellent food and service.
Atmosphere: busy which made the bar area a little too loud sometimes.
Nice traditional local pub and ambience. Good value for money.
Meant to leave a review after our first visit last week — but after going again today, I remembered!
First off…
BOOK a table before you go — it gets really busy (and you’ll soon see why).
Food
I don’t use this word lightly… the food we’ve tried is EXCEPTIONAL.
The "Big Yin" and "Wee Yin" all-day breakfasts are easily among the best I’ve ever had.
✅ A menu with enough variety to give you choice without overloading you
✅ They cater for dietary intolerances too, which is a big plus
✅ Local produce, served piping hot (yes, even the beans!)
✅ Beautifully plated and the meat is absolutely top-notch
They also offer pancakes, toasties, soups, and other options — and smaller portions if you prefer a lighter bite.
Drinks
We’ve only sampled the hot drinks so far, but the tea, coffee, latte and cappuccino were all spot on — both taste and presentation.
They use Myrtle Coffee beans, so you’re supporting a local supplier while getting a quality brew.
✅ They also offer milk alternatives for anyone with dietary needs.
Atmosphere
A relaxed, welcoming wee Scottish cafe — calm decor, friendly vibes, and a cake and scone display that’s downright dangerous if you’ve got a sweet tooth.
It’s also very family-friendly, which is always good to know.
Service
The staff are friendly, welcoming, and clearly proud of the place — they genuinely care about the food, the atmosphere, and the customers, which is a refreshing change.
Pricing
It’s definitely at the higher end, but given the location, quality, and service, it’s more than justified.
Parking
Plenty of street parking just a short 2-3 minute walk away, so no hassle there.
Overall
We’ve only been a couple of times, and it’s a 30-minute drive for us — but Heaven Scent has already gone straight in at #1 on our list of cafes.
Highly recommend you try it too!

I 5/5 100%. Best people I have ever met, when I was in a pinch, they were all very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The food is delicious, the environment and vibes are perfect, and the rooms are well kept and clean. I would definitely go again to better enjoy Anchor Inn.
Visited today with two coach driver colleagues for an amazing Scottish breakfast. We had dropped off some excited school children at the Lonsdale to watch Paddington in Peru.
We didn’t have marmalade sandwiches but a delicious breakfast and such a large portion which kept us going all day. We would like to also pass on praise to Claire for such a warm, friendly welcome who was very complimentary to our Christmas jumpers well for the two of us anyway.
We popped back this afternoon for a coffee and tray bake where there was a wide choice. We look forward to visiting again soon.
Many thanks

Lovely, friendly place. Great live music.
Reasonable prices
Staff first class. Food was delicious.
Will be back when we return to Dunblane.
Very dog friendly x
Fancied a trip to Plockton, lovely wee village. Had read about the Harbour Fish Bar and that they offered gluten free fish and chips. That's what we ordered and got and thoroughly enjoyed - sat eating them in the car looking at the view. We've been twice now, but it has closed for the winter. We will be back in the spring.
Restaurant was only open very limited hours at the time of our visit due to Covid restrictions. Had a nice meal and wine at reasonable price served by very helpful, friendly staff
