The word inspiration equals impunity because the food has nothing Jamaican about it, the prices are astronomical and the portions are ridiculously small (4 slices of banana £4.50) which doesn't even make 1 whole banana ridiculous🙄.
The Jerk sauce is yellow (I've never seen one like that). The flavor isn't there which is an insult to Jamaican cuisine. Now I don't know if that's because there are no Jamaicans in the kitchen or if it was adapted to the Scottish palate 🤷🏾♀️
I'd been meaning to visit this place for years, and now I finally got the chance. Sadly, it appears to be closing, so I probably won't get another chance. The food was excellent, and the service was even better. The kind of friendly family-style place that's rare in Edinburgh these days.

Coming in this beautiful place for my friend birthday. The place is beautiful, the food is good as well and the service of Iona was outstanding, she was smiling, helping a lot about recommendations…. I ll come back for sure. Thanks Iona for your job , really appreciated it 🙏
Very beautiful and cozy place, service at the highest level. And the food is a separate conversation, we ordered a ribeye steak, ate and enjoyed every bite.

Came to Innerleithen on a solo retreat/holiday away from the States. The food and wine pairing the owner so kindly suggested was truly one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my 47 years on Earth.
Booked two nights (Aug 10-12th) here as we were ending our Scotland trip, and it was a perfect place to finish.
Parking is provided in a lot or along the quiet street. It was a little confusing at first glance, because there are two buildings (across the street from each other) labeled "The Star Inn," and one of them had a sale sign on the outside.
After realizing one had a locked door, we headed to the other where we were greeted by locals and directed to the bar for service. It took a couple minutes for the bartender to finish up and greet us, but she was lovely and promptly checked us in, grabbed our keys, and showed us the way to our room across the street.
The first thing I noticed was the incredible smell! It smelled amazing, fresh, comforting...l considered asking how I could bring the smell back to the states. The walk in area, halls and room were spotless and cozy. The bed was crisp and fresh, and the bathroom was huge. Numerous fresh towels and toiletries were provided. There was also tea, water, a small fridge, a television, menus, WIFI, a small desk, lots of outlets for charging, and nice lighting.
The Inn is within walking distance to the water, and there are some small shops that weren't open on a Sunday. It was about 15 minutes of a drive into Inverness, and about 5 minutes from Inverness airport.
Would absolutely recommend staying here, we loved the small amount of time we did!
Me and my family booked a tables months ago as we were going to the military Tattoo. Unfortunately, the booking was lost as they don’t do bookings during the festival. I completely understand that.
However, rather than being helpful. The two staff members were rude, and not helpful. They could having said, a table will be 10 or 15 minutes. But instead they chose to make us feel unwelcome.
So if you are thinking of going! I would advise to go to Pizza Express instead. They were more than happy to take all 5 of us.

Fantastic meal last night. We'd booked a table and thank goodness as it was packed. We had Nepalese chilli king prawns and chicken momos for starters. Then I had chicken kolhapuri which was phenomenal. Everything was delicious and so fresh. Service was fantastic too.
