Divino Enoteca in Edinburgh, City of

After my recent meal there, Divino Enoteca is without a doubt the greatest Italian restaurant in Edinburgh! The service was attentive and courteous, and the pasta was fresh and full of flavor.

terrible, my girlfriend felt bad, we were kicked out after an hour.

Terrible restaurant and terrible food, the attitude of the waiters towards guests is terrible, I do not recommend it. If you ask to bring something separately, you will be refused. The service is zero and absolutely does not match the receipt The waiter is rude.

Everyone is always so friendly and professional! Lovely food and drinks.

Server (Harriet) was very nice but took too long to serve food. I don’t see why it took so long to serve cold antipasti. Also antipasti had too much spicy options in it - not everyone wants chilli in their cheese.

Booked a table last minute and they managed to get us in. Greeted warmly by staff at the door and seated in a great seat downstairs. Food and service from our waitress Esther both excellent. Mussels and Bruschetta for starter. Ragu and Cacio el Pepe ravioli for mains.

Lovely food & great cocktails. Our waiter David was very helpful explaining the specials and his recommendations from the menu! A prefect place to visit when in Edinburgh, would highly recommend!

Incredibly helpful as we messed up our booking reservation. They made room for us when they were fully booked. We had the ribeye and beef cheek! Amazing! Cocktails were great and the bar tender (Fred) was so helpful with choosing n matching wines. We felt very well looked after and were so glad we visited this restaurant! 10/10 from us and we would def return when next in town!

We booked dinner at this place on friends ' recommendation. We 8 of us) arrived for our dinner on time. We were sat in a table next to an iron gate with heater on the wall. There were plenty other customers in that section with us. After three hours of wait, we were served our meals in segments, some of us received their starters after the main, etc. a couple of us did not have their meal served at all. I am sorry to say that this restaurant did not impress me at all. The owner apologised for the error and gave us free deserts and limoncellos. The bill was still steep, very steep for a night that in my view was worth a quarter of the price. The vegetarian options are limited and of small portions. Sorry, I can't recommend this place.

Without a doubt, Divino Enoteca is the greatest Italian restaurant I've ever eaten at in Edinburgh. The pasta dishes have the most exquisite flavors and are quite fresh.

Had dinner at Divino Enoteca, and the meal was fantastic! It has a cozy, inviting atmosphere that is ideal for a leisurely evening. The staff was really polite and the risotto was quite creamy.

Once again had a lovely evening here. The food was fantastic and our service from team member “David” was absolutely exemplary. A must if visiting Edinburgh.

We had the best time at divino, the service by Harriot and all of the waiters was 5*, we got the ragu rigatoni and the ribeye steak, with mash Potato's and everything was perfect. We got the wine flight which was explained to us in detail which was really interesting and was selected according to our taste so we thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely the best place for a date night in Edinburgh.

We stumbled upon this place early one morning and saw the fresh food delivery being taken. Having viewed their menu we decided to try and get a table for that night but had to go on the standby list as it was a busy Xmas market weekend. We could only get in a little later than planned but wow, this was worth the wait! We were warmly welcomed with huge smiles from staff in a very busy restaurant. Troy was our server (I think that was his name, I do know he was American) was outstanding. That perfect balance between being attentive but not overbearing. The meals and drinks were great, I had the rigatoni and my husband had the ravioli special which was the true stand out for us. Honestly, it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a while, so much so we have promised to return with our family next year. Thank you for a very special evening!

Divino Enoteca is the best Italian restaurant in Edinburgh, I can say with confidence after my recent meal there!

For a special date night, I took my significant other to Divino, and it was wonderful! The perfect amount of lighting created a lovely atmosphere. Everything on the few tiny appetizers we shared was delicious. This is the place to go whether you want to celebrate an anniversary or just have a great evening out!

Romantic atmosphere, very well decorated with outstanding service from Harriet and the team. Food was fantastic, especially the ravioli of the day. Very high quality wine.

Have been coming here for over 10 years. Every single time the service is fantastic and the food is incredible. From entry to exit the staff are fantastic and tonight our waiter Troy was exceptional. Amazing knowledge of wines and gave great recommendations on all aspects of the menu. Look forward to coming back again.

I understand that this restaurant is used for fine dining and as tourists we were probably not dressed for it, but in a nearly empty restaurant we felt like we were being looked down upon. The food was mediocre and not particularly special or delicious but small portions (for example Ravioli, 7 pieces) and definitely not worth such high prices. Will not return here if we are ever in Edinburgh again.

I was ready to give a 4 star review overall due to the food. Our bruschetta was extremely hard - which I'm sure was a mistake but because we don't dine in places like this we hadn't realised until we spoke to some friends. BUT because of the wait staff, especially the fella from Colorado I've changed my mind and am giving this place a 5 star review. We will definitely come back here and I honestly attribute it to the service. I don't think we asked his name but we were both charmed by his presence, he made our amazing night even more memorable. Hopefully next time I'll be leaving a 5 star review for the food and service :) Looking forward to it. Staff worth their weight in gold.

We had a most wonderful meal. Troy is a fantastic Sommelier and helped us choose some great Barolos and Amarones. The wine selection is second to none. Many thanks to Cristofer for excellent, attentive service through the evening.

Divino Enoteca has the best Italian food in Edinburgh, so you should definitely check it out! The atmosphere transports you to Italy, the flavors are incredibly authentic, and the pasta is freshly made.

Divino Enoteca is the place to go if you want the best Italian food in Edinburgh! Every piece of the freshly made pasta was flavorful. It's evident that they use premium ingredients. I was quite pleased when I left, and I will most certainly return.

The wine selection at Divino is amazing! They have something for everyone, whether you like whites, reds, or sparkling wine. For myself and other wine lovers, it's the ideal location. I was able to choose the ideal glass with the assistance of the knowledgeable personnel.

Dining at Divino Edinburgh feels like a little getaway to Italy! The meal is great, and the environment is perfect for savoring a glass of wine while in good company.

Went here for a family get together and the service from greeting to leaving was excellent. We had great service from Jessica and she was very patient with us all. Food was great and wine went down a trat. Not cheap but well worth the money and should not put you off. Look forward to a return visit

In Divino Enoteca, I had an amazing time! Particularly the wood-fired pizzas, the food was fantastic. It was the ideal setting for a casual dinner—warm yet energetic at the same time.

Amazing food and wine made even more special with such incredible service! It's worth noting there are two Italian restaurants in this building. This restaurant at the bottom is called Divino, and one at the top and middle floors called Vittoria. Both restaurants are part of the same company, but this restaurant (Divino) is streets ahead of Vittoria in both food and service quality. The waiting on staff in Divino are so friendly and attentive. When walking into the restaurant and to the table, every member of staff we passed stopped and greeted us. Throughout the meal they would always have a friendly smile and would continually check (at the right times) to see if we were OK. They were also very knowledgeable about the food and wines they were serving. The service definitely increased the enjoyment of the meal. The food was equally excellent. We went for the carrarese sharing focaccia to start, which had a slight chewiness to it that was a nice mouth feel, it had lots of flavour, the honey walnuts being a favourite part of it. I went for the spaghetti carbonara for main which had a rich creamy cheesey flavour, which was oh so moreish! The pasta was cooked aldente, which I enjoyed. My wife went for the tuna salad and said it was delicious, really great flavours and the tuna was so fresh. We got a side of the mushrooms that had loads of earthy, herby, and garlic flavours. We went for the creme brulee for dessert, which was very nice. The cherries we found a little too sweet though and thought it may be better without them. A bit of shortbread would have been nice instead. We went for the Soave white wine, which was amazing, so flavourful. And the Barolo, which again was an incredible wine. They finished off the meal with a free shot of lemoncello, which was lovely and well received. The meal was for my wife's birthday, so we did splash out a little. Our bill came to just under £226 but for the quality of the food and service, we felt it was worth it. Highly recommend coming here!

I went there recently for an evening of wine tasting, and it was wonderful! The staff is polite and well-informed, and the wine selection is excellent. It's the ideal spot to savor their mouthwatering antipasti with a glass of superb wine.

I attended the sweet wines and dessert pairing in March. Brilliant! I normally don’t like desert wine, but the combination of the wines and the exceptionally prepared desserts were so memorable. Had dinner in the restaurant afterwards… Yes, I ate backwards. Lol and the sommelier recommended the most perfect one for my dinner. I came back home and sought that wine out. It was Gavi di gavi… a wine I’ve never had, and I loved being introduced to something new. The dinner was prepared perfectly, wines were well balanced, and dessert was awesome. I cannot recommend this place enough. What a great find.

Amazing service and delicious food. A lovely setting with a large wine selection. Also, there was live music that night. We felt very welcome there.

Can’t say enough good things about the service. Hands down awesome. Had the carbonara which was very good. The wine selection was very good as well. Be careful with the desserts though. Their version of the lava cake will hook you. I’m not kidding!!

Great experience here on a busy Wednesday evening during the Fringe in August. The wine list is great as is the cocktails. The food offering is small-ish but has pastas, meat and side offerings. The tempura prawns were delicious as a starter, a great portion. The tuna and courgette main course was a letdown, it didn't offer much flavour and was a bit small if you don't order sides. The affogato was 10/10 however - delicious coffee and a good portion of ice cream. Our server was a standout of the evening, super attentive and friendly and clearly had great knowledge of the menu.

We came here before seeing a tattoo and found that the location was absolutely perfect! The warm candles, low lighting and beautiful fire stoked in an old fireplace really set the tone. The restaurant is very authentically Italian, with Italian wait staff and Italian chefs in the back. There was an extensive wine list and our waiter was practically a sommelier - we tried a wine on his recommendation that we hadn't heard of before (a Frappato from Sicily). It was so beautiful and just as described. Highly recommend this place for a great night out💕.

If you are coming here for lunch, don’t order the rib-eye… not only is it inedible, but if you order a medium you’ll get it raw… even after asking the waiter to send it back to the kitchen, it came back the same, but warmer…

Last month I had the pleasure of dining at Divino for a special occasion with my mother and sister. The service was outstanding and flawless, with the staff being incredibly professional, courteous, and friendly. And the food was simply fabulous! Without a doubt, I would return for other special occasions. One of the best restaurants in Edinburgh!

The atmosphere was lively yet relaxing, with lighting and a seating arrangement that complemented this. We ordered the special squid starter, bread selection, prawn pasta and carbonara, a variety of foods that all exceeded the excpectations that we had in terms of presentation, invention and most importantly, taste. Our server Troy couldn’t of been more helpful, extremely knowledgeable of the menu and able to recommend dishes which would compliment eachother perfectly. Our table was never empty with food and our wine glasses were always filled. 10/10

Best chef and wine list in Scotland for a reason, stunning menu incredible wine, stunning location! The restaurant is very intimate and romantic, food is authentic and crazy quality, even better then most places in Italy itself. The all team is just unreal, fast knowledgeable and professional. Can not stress it enough, best Italian restaurant in Scotland.

We came here for my graduation meal and it was appalling from start to finish. We waited an hour for starters without any acknowledgement or reimbursement from the restaurant. I had to approach the manager and also later complained twice. Nothing. With over 5 years of hospitality experience myself I would never dream of providing a customer experience like this. A real shame for Divino- Do better.

Great restaurant! The waiters were incredibly nice and helpful and the food was incredibly good. In addition, there was great decor which made everything feel very nice and formal. 10/10!! Recommended if you are in the area!

Exquisite. The food was outstanding with every course being an absolute culinary delight. The atmosphere was also wonderful, providing an intimate experience in the middle of a bustling restaurant. Our waiter, Troy, was nothing short of exceptional and couldn’t have been more attentive, knowledgable about the menu or welcoming. I cannot recommend Davino’s highly enough.

Do not go here! Crap service - disappointed. Been before which was great as we had had great service and went back for a special occasion what a mistake!! Waited over an hour to get food whilst tables arriving after us were served. Not one comment from a manager in explanation about this. I challenged the manager and waiter after paying the bill- they simply couldn’t give a toss.

Fabulous Service, could not have been more charming , well informed and sociable . Great venue for small groups or big one like us , accommodated us in a wonderful private dining room, would highly recommend . Only one dish disappointed (linguine was very salty apparently due to sun dried tomatoes, but was a battle to enjoy)

Had a lovely meal here, returning after a first visit 7 years ago, and it was a nice as we remembered. Firstly service was exceptional, it was professional and friendly, and struck the absolute right balance. Food was brilliant, nduja and polenta starter is highly recommended. Our mains did take a while but we were happy to be leisurely. Beef cheek very tasty and very rich. I loved the passion here too, I ordered a Vin Santo to finish my meal but this was not available, but a replacement was suggested and I was impressed by the passion in why it was a good alternative.... And yes it was delicious. The only criticism I have is the toilets are a long walk upstairs as part of another restaurant it seems. Would not stop me coming back again. Grazie

Me and my friend enjoyed our night so much! The food was so delicious and went perfectly with the wine recommended by Pietro. He was serving us and was so thoughtful, welcoming and friendly! All the staff were amazing. It was my friends birthday and they were kind to give her candles and congratulate her for her birthday. So lovely! We will definitely come back! Marina :)

Divino is fantastic for a special occasion but also anytime you’re looking for great Italian food with a warm atmosphere. We had a great anniversary dinner, the team are very friendly and attentive and made it a lovely evening. The food and wine were delicious - the burrata & ricotta ravioli on special was just perfect and we also enjoyed our starter & the affogato. The wine and cocktails selection is great with both traditional and inventive cocktails making it difficult to choose a favourite! This wasn’t our first visit and definitely won’t be the last! Also looking forward to the warmer months to enjoy their terrace. Thanks to our waiter David and the rest of the team for a great night!

Great restaurant, we visited 6 years ago and it was good we decided to come back again. Highly recommend.

Antipasti starter, fantastic. Tiramasu, fantastic. Prawn pasta (can’t remember the Italian name of the dish) and the Gnocci my brother ordered were rather average unfortunately. Highly recommend the lamb or the steak and their equivalent of a lasagne. Our waitress was incredibly hospitable, a great host. Atmosphere was brilliant, not too loud considering it was a game day.

From the moment we walked through the door we received excellent service, the food was fantastic as was the wine. The atmosphere and ambience just perfect for our romantic meal for two. Will definitely visit again next time we're up from Manchester. I had the soup of the day and the special both of which were excellent and obviously change, my partner had the lamb and she is still talking about it now a week later

What a great Italian this is!! Staff, and really the whole team, is great. From welcome to farewell, warm, enthusiastic and attentive. Nice cozy environment and then….., the food. Burrata, bruschetta and charcuterie, very tasty and right quantities. But then the showstopper, Beefcheek cooked in Barolo with, I think, Balsamic sauce, really not to be missed!!

What a gem of a restaurant, food was excellent done to perfection. Are waiter David was very knowledgeable and couldn't do enough for us and without being over bearing. Great choice o f wines, even had a selection of wines were you could try a little of them all, brilliant idea. The restaurant itself was a lovely place really liked the decor. Would recommend and I will visit again.
