El servicio amable mencionado por otros críticos debe haber estado de vacaciones cuando visitamos. El servicio era muy lento. Éramos un grupo muy benigno pero nuestro servidor estaba muy apagado - mano. No sé por qué, posiblemente solo estaba teniendo un mal día. Uno de nuestros invitados no quiso decirle que su pedido de bebidas estaba mal para no causar un mal ambiente en nuestra mesa. Comida bien, pero no volveremos.

Came here with a small group for a special birthday tonight and they could not have been more welcoming. The food was excellent, and I'd highly recommend Tempo Perso.

Great place for a celebratory birthday meal. The food was delicious, with good portion sizes. The carbonara ravioli was rich and silky and something we had never had before. Pinsa pizza had thin, crispy authentic base and a nice range of unusual toppings. Very good starters to share. The staff were friendly and attentive and brought dessert with a birthday candle. Lovely place for a celebration.

Y la comida estaba deliciosa, solo logré tomar un par de artículos, la bruschetta de mi hermano que era una porción grande, y mi lasaña que estaba deliciosa. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante. Engañé a mi sobrinita para que probara los calamares de mi papá, diciéndole que eran aros de cebolla y que a ella le encantaban. Conseguí la lasaña como yo y la engullí, y normalmente es una quisquillosa comedora de orina. Lugar encantador 👌🏻

Loved it from the moment we walked in & immediately were attended to by a lovely chap. Food was superb, I personally had Calamari rings with prawn pasta the portions were huge but delicious. Waiter was a delight, full of humour which I liked. Place is very busy & understandable why!.. Really enjoyed my time in this restaurant, 2hrs+ flew past, food & superb wine plentiful!. Myself & my family had a lovely time & would highly recommend a visit to anyone who loves Italian food. Thank you for a lovely meal (very reasonable prices) Will be back for more 😀

No teníamos reserva pero incluso a las 6 : 00 fueron capaces de obtener una de un pequeño número de tablas disponibles. Claramente popular entre los lugareños, gran servicio amable entregado con una sonrisa - queríamos probar algunos vinos diferentes de la lista disponible y se nos dio una prueba de dos opciones que ambos disfrutamos y pedimos. Delicious authentic Italian food food, including fresh pasta and pinsa. Great choice of wines too.

Service never fails to be amazing . Portion sizes are huge at a very reasonable price. Wine was a little warm when served to us but otherwise faultless. Very fast service too. Located in a lovely area of Edinburgh with bars one can go to before. Would recommend booking in advance as it’s been busy every time we’ve gone there.

Fue la tercera vez con suerte ya que el clima y la enfermedad nos habían impedido venir antes. Fueron los especiales de la hora del almuerzo que optamos. Dos de nosotros comimos albóndigas con ensalada mixta y pan de ajo, uno tenía pasta ragu, ensalada mixta y pan de ajo. Opté por la pizza nduja, patatas fritas y ensalada verde. Todos eran magníficos y sabrosos y no dejamos nada en los platos, testimonio del chef. Lavado con una botella de casa roja y 2 vasos de casa blanca. Cafés y Brandie's para terminar. Nuestro nuevo italiano favorito. Hasta pronto.

My bf and I went here for valentines day, both of the pasta were so good esp Pasta Assasina 🤤 the passion fruit mojito was also good & the strawberry tiramisu is to die for !! its so soft and the cream is so light and well made 😋 (so good, we had to order two), the service and ambience was also good 😍

I was at this lovely restaurant for lunch with my daughter and baby grandaughter today. The staff were lovely and so welcoming. They were so friendly towards us we instantly felt relaxed. We ordered the sharing platter which came with a bottle of wine (we chose prosecco as it was my daughter's birthday)Really good value, fabulous quality meats and cheeses and all for around £40 for two of us. We will definitely be back

The best Italian food I’ve had in a long time in Edinburgh. What struck me most was the warm, friendly demeanor of the host, who was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Great atmosphere as well as a huge wine selection. The beef ragu was incredible. I’ll definitely return.

Horrible! NEVER COMING BACK! Tomorrow at 23rd of January of 2025 with a RED WARNING! for strong winds, the owner decides that is a good idea to open at 17:00 poor staff, feel bad for them, if the bar is opening at 17:00 that means the staff needs to go to the restaurant before 17:00 at 3ish which means they are risking their lives to go to the restaurant when there is a red warning.

Charging £9 for a very average ragù arancino or a bruschetta is an insult to Italian cuisine and culture. I had a very high opinion of this place but after this I’m never coming back. There are much higher quality and more reasonably priced Italian restaurants in Edinburgh.

Marco and his team provide for the ultimate Italian dining experience with personable and classy service, offering the freshest Pinsa, Seafood and Pasta la scelta; top class value for money, deeply knowledgeable sourced wine ranges; recommendations & light, proper chat galore in a non stuffy, warm, modern environment. The music selection was also quality; a mix of heady, soothing gems and classic Jazz. Big props to Manuel too, a local Brewer and master of hospitality. Can't recommend to locals and tourists enough. We walked in without a reservation so only had an hour for our table. Got starters in the first 5 minutes (1 starter in 40 seconds), mains in 15 and deserts in 35. Incredible service, incredible staff and incredible food.

I gave been a take-away customer via deliveroo/Uber for a few years now. Today, I picked up a couple of Tiramisu and wow. This is possibly the best tiramisu served by any restaurant in Edinburgh. Tastes fresh, not too sweet and is light on the tum. Simply outstanding and top class service. Will return

We were expecting much more given the stellar reviews. Found the food mediocre, wine was good though and the service was friendly and quick.

Wow! What an amazing restaurant. Food was fantastic, portion was great and plenty of prawns in the prawn pasta! The bottle of wine we wanted was sold out, but our fantastic waiter recommended us a different bottle at the same price. Staff were fantastic, would love to come back here.

Honestly…would not recommend to anyone. Completely over priced main courses, Pizza and Pasta. Pasta portion sizes are too small, my friends were still hungry. Also hardly Any vegan/ vegetarian options. My main was a cold, dry grilled chicken with a flavourless mushroom sauce. It was not very good for £20. The server could also not differentiate which Pasta dish was fresh or dry (for the fresh pasta they charge an extra £3) but who can really tell the difference when the portion sizes are so small. The drinks however were good and the service wasn’t bad. Overrall quite a distressful experience honestly.

Buena carta de vinos, que también tiene excelentes opciones de buenas copas individuales, que fue un verdadero placer. Empacado en una noche de martes con los lugareños.

Walking along Bruntsfield Road we went to Tempo Perso to taste some Italian food. Nice inside, very friendly staff , the food is proper Italian. We enjoyed 2 typical Italian courses: carne al sugo , very delicious, and Parmigiana di melanzane, very good. The limoncello was the right Italian way to finish the lunch. Recommended!!!

Best tiramisu I've ever had, worth going just for that but their pasta are fantastic too.

Bizarre service from a hostile waiter who seems to think customers are an inconvenience. We got shouted at for being 11 instead of 10, despite the fact that the restaurant was nearly empty. When laying the table the waiter was erratic with the cutlery, waving the knives around our faces (we've been warned about stabbing in Scotland, but didn't expect it with our lunch). The food was actually lovely but the waiter insisted that we all had salad and garlic bread, whether we wanted or not. After waiting 40' for the food to arrive, the waiter decided we that 6' was an adequate time for us to eat before he promptly took our food away. If you like abuse with your food this is probably the right place for you.

This lively corner spot was (thankfully) close to our Airbnb in Edinburgh. Rec’d a gracious welcome from our server and had an interesting conversation with the owner, who has a long family history running restaurants. Their pizza had a crispy, delicious chickpea based crust and plentiful tasty toppings. Apparently it is a very old style of pizza, and we loved it. The salad was beautifully presented and very fresh. The wine was affordable. A very pleasant experience after a long day of travel.

I visited Tempo Perso in my last trip to Edinburgh and I had an amazing dinner! As I said to the waiters and the owner himself I fell in love with the food!!! 😍 I had an amazing gastronomical Italian experience! Everything was amazing!!The food, the wine, the atmosphere, the waiters and the owner who were very friendly and they took care of me in their best way! I thank them and I promise I'll be back for sure in every visit to Edinburgh!

This must be the best Italian restaurant in the whole of Scotland. We were warmly greeted at the door and even though we had not made a prior booking, a table was found for the two of us within a couple of minutes by Marco who has excellent customer service skills. Food was presented in a timely manner and it was delicious, fresh and authentic. Peter took time to talk with us about the restaurant and the pride they take in giving every customer a pleasant experience, however, it the overall teamwork and atmosphere that makes this such a lovely place to dine in. It's a shame we don't live in Scotland otherwise this would certainly be a regular dining place for us. Thank you everyone at Tempo Perso!

Kamil, our server, was outstanding, and we met the owner who was very passionate about the food and very helpful. Both gave us delicious recommendations. Kamil was also exceptionally charming! This is a MUST go when visiting Edinburgh. Best Italian food we have ever had! We had appetizers, dinner, and dessert. Try the Grappa!

We visited this restaurant twice, and both experiences were wonderful. On our first visit, we had the homemade pasta, which was absolutely divine. You could really tell it was freshly made—it was that good! The service was warm and friendly, making us feel right at home. On our second visit, the manager recognized us and welcomed us with a complimentary glass of rosé, which was a lovely surprise. The pinsa was also very good. To top it off, we were treated to a limoncello as we were leaving. The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Highly recommended!

We booked a table for 3 at 6pm. We were shown a table that would have barely accommodated two so I asked for another table. We were given one but had to wait 20 minutes for a drink. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The rock music was so loud it made it difficult for me to hear my friend across the table. Staff had to be called over for our drinks order and desert order though they were perfectly polite. Won’t be back.

Allowed dogs inside which was brillia t. Service could be rated as a 10 out of 5, they were brilliant hosts and made the meal feel like a fine dining family meal. Food was above the average meal amd the ambiance of the restaurant was small, cozy, refined and relaxed. Definitely recommended

Went here a couple weeks back for my boyfriend's Mum's birthday. We were very very taken care of and our severs were attentive/fantastic. Not to mention the food was great too, I enjoyed all of it :) To the server who made my boyfriend Mum laugh (and all of us) thank you.. I would love to go back again soon.

I visited recently with a large group of family for a birthday celebration. If I was reviewing on the food alone, this rating would be 5 stars. I particularly enjoyed the focaccia, the burrata, and all of the food was excellent (though I would say £18 is pretty pricey for 5 raviolo). The lemon sorbet was also delicious. However, I think our visit was potentially let down by the place being understaffed for busy a Saturday night. There looked to be only 2 waiters on duty and that meant there was a cumulative impact of minor inconveniences throughout. When we arrived (on time) our table wasn’t ready so we had to wait. They were out of the first bottle of wine we ordered, the second was caulked, they brought the wrong bottle the third time and we only got the wine we wanted after our starters had arrived. We were unable to order any more drinks for the rest of the evening: when we tried to ask, the waiter said they had their hands full and would come back, but didn’t come back. We also ran out of water at the table and this was never replaced. There were mistakes in our orders too, which I think were because it was a loud night, so on three occasions through the meal, one of us was brought something different to what we had ordered. The waiter argued with us on each occasion and was pretty unapologetic - it was really loud so probably just mishearing us, but the third time was pretty grating. And it was a long wait for the bill. We’ve all worked hospitality so know that some nights things just go wrong, but the unfriendly, sort of confrontational manner of the waitstaff didn’t help matters.
