Had calamari and pizza. Fresh, full of flavour. A+ customer service. Welcoming and lovely atmosphere

I've been here before for pasta so was excited to visit again. Decided to go for steak. Without a doubt the worst steak and chips I've ever had anywhere. The steak was tough and the chips had no substance to them. No mustard available so we went for a sauce which was tasteless. The only thing worse than bad food in a restaurant is when you tell them the food was awful and they say nothing. Zero customer service. We won't be back.

Absolutely lovely place food just brilliant

We originally booked a table of five for a friend's birthday meal but we needed to extend the table three more times as other friends said that they wished to join us. The staff were incredibly accommodating. In the end we had a table of 14. They situated us in one corner of the restaurant so it actually felt more like a private function. The food was excellent and all came out at the same time even though we were a large group. Very reasonable priced, too. We felt very looked after by all the staff and the friend who was celebrating (her 70th!) loved her cake and candle. She really wasn't expecting it. Huge thanks to everyone for making her feel so special.

Friends booked a table here for pizzas on a Sunday evening. Food was fine. Wine was fine but oh my goodness what utterly miserable staff. We were 'greeted' by a smileless waiter, shown grudgingly to our table. Service throughout was totally lacking in joy. Not one smile. Not even a grimace. My husband & I finished our glasses of wine & would have very much liked another but no staff looked near our table so we gave up. Pizzas were tasty but when I go out it's nice to be served by pleasant servers. I'm afraid I won't be rushing back

The service was good, the lady was very polite and nice. However the food was a huge disappointment. We ordered a pizza, and it was obvious that the pepperoni and chicken were off and didn't smell right. The texture was rough and chewy, seemed to have been frozen for quite a while. Poor quality food.

Excellent service, extremely efficient and lovely food and a real buzz in the restaurant. Packed to the rafters at 6pm, as it must be very popular. A very tightly run ship, with the lady serving the drinks, examining every glass before it was sent out and constantly cleaning her service area.

El restaurante es precioso, es un muy buen lugar para estar. El servicio no es el mejor pero no el peor. No me gusta mucho la pizza porque no estaba tibia y la calidad de la masa no era tan mala. Era demasiado ruidoso y el precio es bueno. Pero para mí lo peor era el servicio.

We went there on a Saturday early evening. We had no reservation but we instantly got a table when we got there. The food was okay, nothing special. After 45 minutes the waiter brought us the bill, without even asking for it. Our drinks were half full. He demanded us to pay, cause other people where already waiting for a table and we should leave now. Can’t recommend.

Disappointed. We decided to try it because we were told it was authentic Italian. The pizza dough was bland and not properly leavened, the ingredients tasteless and low quality. Our first and last visit, unfortunately.

As Italian as it is Scottish: authentic! Very friendly service, helpful and flexible. They don't get upset when larger groups come and manage to serve all the food at the same time. The pizza dough is extremely tasty and the possibilities for putting together your meal are almost endless. It was a fantastic evening...

First time visiting there with 3 people before going to Murrayfield for a rugby match. Had a lovely vegetariana pizza and dessert. Friends loved their meal. Busy place on a Sunday, quick service and friendly staff.

What a pity this restaurant doesn't value it's customers. We ordered a calzone and were so disappointed because while it had the potential to be a great dish, it was unbelievably hot ( as in chillies ). The ingredients listed included ndjua, with no explanation what this was. To discover that you need to look at the list of ingredients for pizza. It's described as a spreadable spicy sausage. No, it's not spicy it's HOT and mouth burning. And trust me I love hot food. When we pointed this out, that it should be highlighted, we got an apology, but no offer of good will. So disappointed. I won't be recommending this restaurant.

A lovely Italian restaurant, we were hoping a good dinner on our first night but since it was a good restaurant obviously it was busy and we supposed to book in advance but the staff (lady, sorry forgot to ask her name, shift was Tuesday evening) she was welcoming and politely ask us to come back in 20mins, so we had some drinks nearby and when we came back she actually reserved a table for us so staff are really reliable and trustworthy, friendly too, service was exceptional and we enjoyed our first night having a good food. Thank you and i highly recommend this restaurant. Sorry wasnt able to take more photos and videos.

Absolute amazing service and somehow even better food

This Italian restaurant is very good, the staff is very friendly and smiling. The dishes are excellent with generous portions. We feel a real conviviality in this restaurant which has a bright future ahead of it. I highly recommend going there for a visit.

We read the reviews and happened to be in the area, have to say that the reviews were not wrong. Fantastic staff and Authentic Pizza and Pasta dishes, will definitely be back when in Edinburgh again…definitely a place to eat out, but book up as it gets busy.

This is a hidden jem. We had our first meal and it was delicious. Enjoyed everything so much that we returned for the next 2 nights. The bolognaise with gluten free pasta was stunning! Also ordered lasagne and meatballs as a side. Marinara gluten free pizza and delicious. We shared a tiramisu to end our meal. Stunning. A lemoncello followed. The staff are all so welcoming. Tony the manager is the best. Highly recommend POMA.

I ordered the Penne Arrabiata and the portion was very small. The taste was okay, but for that price I would not come back.

We were here for dinner on October 4th at 7:30 p.m. for dinner, table of 5. This was a return visit as we really enjoyed our last visit. Make a reservation as it is always very busy. The only downside is that the tables in ghe main part of the restaurant are too close together to get more people in. This also makes the place very noisy. We fortunately got the table by the window so we weren't crowded and we were somewhat shielded from the noise. Service was superb, friendly, efficient, and helpful. The food was even better than the last time. The mains had lots of food, and were delicious. I had the Srafood Risotto - lots of shrimp, calamari, mussels. Excellent! Only complaint was the starters. £5 for 3 small slices of garlic bread and £10 for 3 small meatballs. Not good value for money. Stick with the mains. Great pizza, pasta, good sized menu. Highly recommended!

The seafood pasta was out of this world! Lots of mussels, shrimp, etc, and a large prawn, in an excellent sauce.

This place is truly amazing, nice atmosphere and the food is delicious. Both the staff and management were exceptional and friendly. I would highly recommend making reservations for dinner as we we did.

Siamo entrati un po tardi per queste latitudini e ci hanno comunque servito. Abbiamo preso 3 pizze, una burrata e birra e speso quasi come a Roma. Tutto buono, pizza cotta bene e materie prime di qualità. Consigliato.

Had the Gustosa Pizza. Was superb, perfect blend of flavors and amounts. Side salad beautiful blend of greens and simply dressed. Came back tonight and had Ravioli DiManzo. A generous portion and the sauce rich and creamy. Also tries the Torta Dela Nonna for dessert. It was incredible. Only downside is it can be quite loud. That will not keep me from coming back though.

Used to love this place. But still in shock re £3 for peppers and £2 for onion on a margarita pizza!!! That’s some crazy mark up. Won’t be returning, sadly.

Food & service was great. Wine...almost £26 for a bottle of house white wine then 10% service added on to that. You are having a laugh!!!!!

Decided to check this place out due to the glowing reviews it got and wasn't disappointed! The grilled Vegetable antipasti platter was delicious, the risotto alle pescatore was divine, my friends pizza very good also and it's a big bonus they do cocktails too! All the good things combined . Would definitely recommend

Rather disappointing. It’s a nicely decorated restaurant with lots of guests but was not particularly friendly. Portions were variable - The Garlic bread was pathetic - 3 tiny circles of toasted stale bread with a small splodge of olive oil and no discernable garlic. The ravioli was good, but at £16 for 5 pieces of pasta, the value for money was poor. The calzone pizza was good. The final insult being a 10% service charge added to the bill automatically to pay for rather sullen service.

As the kitchen was already closed at 9 pm (also at other restaurants), we still got a pretty good pizza here!

The pizza was fine, but the lasagne we ordered was not great. They tasted fine, but there was a burnt crust on the bottom of all 3 of them that could not be eaten.

The pizza was great. The service was very nice. However, be careful of the “tip” service fee, as that is already included in the total. You can point this out in a friendly manner and then receive a corrected invoice. And you can then decide the tip yourself.

The food was amazing. I got their pan fried chicken with mushrooms and cream sauce. Delicious. The bruschetta was also made me with fresh ingredients. Nice staff. Squeezed us in with no reservations.

I never place reviews but this pizzeria was absolutely awful. Pizzas were not good (it’s a pizzeria mind you) and the staff was horrible. They were happy to seat you and take your order then disappeared. (Possibly the kitchen delivered the order - def not the server) Do yourself a favor and absolutely avoid.

After numerous great experiences we decided to order a take away. Order took over an hour and when I queried where it was the restaurant then cancelled with no explanation. Absolutely terrible customer service. After having been a regular here for years I will not return. When looking on reviews on JustEat I see many similar experiences ours. Avoid at all costs for take away.

Very good pizza and high quality wine. Friendly service. We found it impossible that a 10% service fee was simply included on the bill. That was 12 pounds for our bill. The amount was only taken off the bill after we complained.

Appalling experience with this restaurant despite being previously really happy regulars. We ordered 4 pizzas which were confirmed. When they had not arrived by the delivery time we called and were told that they were no longer doing deliveries and our order hadn’t been made up. The staff member we spoke to was unapologetic and cancelled our order on the system before hanging up. Really poor and we will not be returning.

Don’t come here if you are vegan. You have two options pasta + tomatoes and spices and pizza(bread) + tomatoes and spices. You can do better guys. Add some veggie cheese for example. Great service though.

Good selection of stone baked pizza, the pizza had perfect thickness and tasty toppings. The gnocchi sorrento was really tasty, chewy and soft with flavorful sauce. Tried the desserts as well (tiramisu and pistachio cake) but they were a bit underwhelming.

My sister was visiting so we decided to get some Italian food here. We got the SEAFOOD pasta which was just *minced* salmon 🙄. It had become evidently clear why every other table had ordered a pizza. Service was good, the drinks were brilliant 🤷‍♀️

My daughter and I came here for lunch prior to attending the Taylor Swift concert on the Saturday. We had a table booked for 2pm. We arrived early at 1.15pm and we thought we will just check if we can get in early but we were happy if we had to return at our booked time as appreciate they were very busy. We were met at the door by a friendly member of staff (think maybe he was the person in charge). Very pleasant and calm and said if we just waited 5 minutes it wouldn’t be an issue. We were then shown to our table and served in good time. All staff members were pleasant, welcoming and so attentive. I can imagine this isn’t easy especially on such a busy weekend! There seemed to be a high of turnover of customers coming in. We both had pizza which was delicious and could tell was very fresh. I had a cocktail which was lovely too. Great place, atmosphere and staff. Seemed so well organised! Well done Pomo we will be back!

I had the best pizza I've ever eaten in this place! The dough was perfect, thin crusty base and great flavour. I had the Santa Lucia and can not recommend it highly enough. Popped in unexpectedly with my daughter for the first time and left as a super fan!

We ate here as a family of three. The pizzas were very nice and so was the pasta. I would certainly go there again when I visit Edinburgh.

Contacted restaurant as order hadn’t arrived at 8pm as advised on app. The restaurant told me just eat didn’t come to collect and advised that I should cancel the order. Very disappointing.

Portion sizes were good because they were large. 3* because staff were quite rude.

I ordered POMO pizza. This one has four chese with porcini mushrooms and pork roast loin. Bad choise. The only thing i could taste was the gorgonzola cheese. They put like a kg of gorgonzola.bad quality gorgonzola cheese.... first time in my-life i eat less than a quarter of a pizza! My friend ordered the Vegetariana that one was less bad but the vegetables were cut in big pieces. Bad presentation. italian place? Doudt it.they have pizza pollo and spaghetti bolognese ahaha. Service i camnot complain.

I stayed here for two nights in a row when I arrived in Edinburgh. My children loved their pizza so much that they had to come to eat there even after walking for 20 minutes in the rain.

I picked this restaurant when I was on a walking guide tour. Saw the sign Pomo pizzeria, looked it up on trip advisor and my husband and I decided to go. The food was delicious. I ordered the Marguerite pizza; had just enough sauce which was mild but flavorful. The crust was cooked perfectly for me; fresh and soft so you’re not chewing forever! My husband ordered their lasagna. Noodles were soft, cooked well and very meaty. The sauce was wonderful and not overly spicey which is perfect for my husbands delicate stomach. Our only complaint is the restaurant was packed so it was a tad loud for conversation. Still worth going if you’re looking for a homemade Italian meal

Great food, great service, good value for money

The gnocchi was good. Nduja pasta didnt taste of much, and was quite oily. I know nduja is oily, but still, 1dl left on my plate. Red wine og the house was good.
