The Camperdown Elm in Dundee City

Had Sunday Lunch which was delicious with a delicious Bavarian Cheesecake.

We hadn’t booked but staff were very accommodating even although they were busy.every member of staff looked happy ,smiled and spoke to us (very unusual!!) our servers were Kayla and Makayla and they went the extra mile to check we had everything we needed and chatted to the kids too. Food was as ordered and of a good standard. We will definitely be back

The food was very good and the waitress Leah and the other staff member(didnt get his name) was very warm and friendly.

Everytime I come to Dundee I come here it's a really nice and comfy place the staff are always welcoming the food is great and the prices are fair

A good family meal out for us. Our sometimes fussy children all found something on the children’s menu and ate the lot. Unsophisticated food but that is what we wanted. The seafood option was better and the pie a bit ordinary. The staff were busy but really seemed to care that you has a good evening.

Visited with family to celebrate son’s birthday and it couldn’t have gone any better. The staff were amazing and got the wee ones meals out very quickly, which kept them happy. The place is spotlessly clean and the food was excellent, we will definitely be back soon.

You get what you pay for with this place I think. Cheap and cheerful, good quick service, reasonable food, won't rush back but wouldn't avoid either.

Had a lovely night with my girlfriend, at this establishment. We had a chicken burger and a beef burger here, which were both very tasty and really worth the price. Everything was spotless, and extremely well taken care of. Staff were lovely, our waiter was jamie, he was lovely, and I didn't feel uncomfortable at all talking to any of them.

Food was absolutely delicious but service very slow. Staff were friendly enough but we left without dessert or another drink as we’d been waiting so long

Food was terrible Lasagne dried up and served with a lump of stale looking dry bread with no taste of garlic, no chips. Chicken Tikka Masala had hardly any chicken and nan was just a lump of white dough. Childs macaroni was tiny and again another stale looking lump of what was meant to be garlic bread - really dry and hard. Extremely overpriced processed food. Staff were lovely but would not go back

Nadia was absolutely fantastic and the food was lovely. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family and i will %100 be back.

We were in last Saturday 17th and served by Elysa. Service was brilliant. Very quick and efficient and always with a smile 😊

Four of us visited today for food around 3pm ordered three 3 roast meals and hunter chicken, Overall service was good but food was a little below par, hunter chicken was dry and sauces baked on. The 3 roast meals only had two meats as they had run out, ordered extras on one meal but were not told which plate was which. That’s the second time I have been here and will not be returning.

Had a lovely delayed valentines dinner and profited from their 30% off main meals deal. We started out with the sharing Camembert starter but were disappointed to only get 1 slice of white bread to share between the two of us and the whole Camembert cheese. We asked for more bread which was not charged for, so that was nice. My partner wanted a ribeye steak for a main but they were sadly out of those. He opted for a cheese burger instead but wasn’t blown away. I went for the mixed grill and was pleasantly surprised. All the meats was nicely cooked. Overall a fine experience but a few disappointments away from rating higher than average.

I wanted to treat my Mother-in-Law to a nice meal after enduring a challenging few days of travelling down to Basingstoke after the loss of her dear sister-in-law. This was an exceptional experience, the staff were very friendly and attentive - our waitress Elysa was a sweetheart and she recommended the most exquisite Caramel Tart I have ever had in my life. (Thank you Elysa, you were soo right, it was delicious!). The Chorizo Mac n Cheese that my husband ordered was outstanding and he was raving about it throughout our meal. As a family we enjoy dining out at Camperdown Elm regularly (whenever we visit Dundee). I don't think I have ever had a bad experience at Camperdown Elm, thank you all for your hard work and excellent service.

Unfortunately tried to visit to take advantage of the 30% meal offer however having stood waiting to be seated for 10 mins decided to leave. Such a pity as the place and menu looked quite nice. Severely let down by staff.

We go to the Camperdown because you get excellent service every time from the team. Elysa is especially attentive every time we go. The atmosphere is really relaxed and the food is excellent! We will be back. Thank you again Elysa

All members of staff were absolutely amazing, no problems when asked to change items on menu to out preferences. Food was cooked ro perfection.

We stopped off for lunch at the Camperdown Elm where we greeted with friendly staff and a very nice meal with a couple of drinks, we would recommend this restaurant to anyone! An all round very pleasant experience!

We were in for tea on a busy Saturday evening and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Thank you, Erin, Bradley, Lisa, and Charlie, for being lovely hosts. We brought the dog and were met with a welcome pack of treats and blankets. The steak was tasty, burger was great however a little disappointed with the sea bass it was a lot of potato and not a lot of fish but tasted grand. We will be back!

I had taken my Son and Daughter in law out for lunch yesterday and we decided to come visit your place. We had a really great time, server was amazing, food was fantastic. I’ve been to TCE a number of times with colleagues and every single time we have been greeted with a warm welcome, attentively looked after by knowledgable and friendly team, and the food has been fantastic everytime. If I had family of friends down TCE would be my no1 choice in the local area. I can’t talk highly enough of the service and quality of food which had been consistent on every visit. Not been here in a long while, last time we were here it was not good. After seeing more positive reviews recently and the fact it was dog friendly we thought we’d give it another try and was not disappointed. Food and service was great. Help yourself to a dog blanket , water, biscuits and a toy for the dog , fab wee touch . Will def be back

We go to the Camperdown Elm regularly and the food is always amazing, and the service from the staff is another level. It’s dog friendly so we were able to have lunch with our pup, who was treated like a king with treats and toys. Can’t wait for our next visit.

The evening staff member at the front desk was excellent - really helpful and very courteous. The room was warm, the bed was comfortable and the linen was clean. The carpet was pretty dreadful and I was glad I had brought my slippers!! Otherwise, as budget hotels goes - this is terrific.

Friendly staff, clean pub, decent food

I was driving from Leeds to Aberdeen with my two grandsons on Friday 5th January. Our last stop was to be Camperdown Elm for dinner. We would have booked however as we were arriving before 7 thought there was no requirement. On arrival at 6.40 I was told the kitchen closed at 6.30. I asked if an exception could be made and was told no. I took my grandson to the loo and when I came out saw a couple looking at the menu. I apologised for disturbing them and asked if they had ordered yet as I had been told the kitchen closed at 6.30. They had been told 7.30. When I asked the staff why I had been told 6.30 they informed me it was because I hadn’t booked. If they had mentioned this early I would have gone on line and just booked however I was so infuriated at there attitude I decided to go elsewhere and never darken their door again.

Booked for birthday party for 12 people for 7pm. On arrival told we had to order by 7:30 as closing at 9pm. 1/3 of menu items unavailable. Some of the food luke warm, not fully cooked or extremely overdone. Tikka masala only had 5 small pieces of chicken. More in Tesco tikka masala. Soft drinks appalling priced!!!

Came here for dinner with my wife, the food was excellent as was the service, very reasonably priced as well, would definitely recommend.

Everything was superb from the booking point onwards. The facility was clean and welcoming, the staff were brilliant and the food was excellent. To top it all off, they went the extra mile to accommodate our Labrador. Water, treats, a tennis ball and a blanket. Lots of places claim to be dog friendly but this was clear to see here.

This was our second visit to Camperdown Elm and we can't rate it highly enough, the food is delicious and the staff are so so friendly. It's definitely our favourite place to go for food when we visit Dundee.

This used to be brilliant, its our 5th year coming to breakfast with Santa here but it was soo different this time 😔 its a set menu so no pancakes etc and you don't get the option for add-ons or make any changes. There was no games this time either. Last year it was musical bumps, musical statues, best dancer competition, karaoke etc. There was balloon animals and then the magician was due to be going around tables doing magic tricks but after an hour and 15 minutes of trying to keep the kids amused ourselves its not happened yet. Santa came but you were invited over to see him one table at a time... not sure why it's changed but so disappointed
