The Camperdown Elm in Dundee City

First time here, I had steak pie and chunky chips. very nice, then apple and pear crumble. Also very nice. Service was good and servers were polite and attentive. Great experience

We visited for the quiz night and had food. Service was excellent and all the waitresses were lovely. Food came out quick and hot and looked amazing. Quiz was great and host was good at creating a good atmosphere. Just a bonus that we won! Already booked for the next quiz night and can't wait to have more food!

Enjoyed a quick bite to eat whilst in Dundee. The staff (David and Liam) were friendly and attentive.

Used to love it here but today was terrible .went at lunch time .picked steak pie .came back to say they had none .picked macaroni .again nothing .picked fish and chips peas stone cold had 10 chips .and fish that was disgusting water full water .and batter that hard could not eat it . Asked for a fruit plate for my little grand daughter .none of that either .food was disgusting .wont be back

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the restaurant looks modern and clean and in good condition. Our orders were taken quickly and food came quick, but I thought the food was not good quality at all I found the adult and child portions to be rather small, a tiny dip bowl worth of macaroni cheese for a 5 year old he could have eaten 3 of them. The mains for adults were also rather small, one a curry and one a chicken pie which was the same size as a bakers scotch pie roughly. It came with 2 carrots and a hand full of peas and green beans. The mash reminded me of smash and could tell it was microwaved due to the skin and glue like texture. The prices of the mains (roughly £14) did not reflect the quality of food. It's a shame about the food as the staff, location and the fact they were family friendly were perfect. Unfortunately we wouldn't rush back solely down to the food, thankyou for your kind staff though

Excellent service from Liam and James. James came with a dog blanket and a water bowl for our dog when we arrived. My elderly neighbour had a chicken dish, but it had some chilli's on it. We should've mentioned to leave them off, when we ordered. James took it away and remade it. Brilliant service all round.

Had a lovely time last night at Camperdown Elm. Meal was excellent thanks to the amazing ‘specials’ menu. Would highly recommend the Cajun steak wrap. A whole sirloin sliced, Cajun seasoning and salad in a tortilla wrap. AMAZING. They definitely have the Covid situation sorted too. Single use menus, clearly marked one way system. Staff very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back soon. Thanks Derek, family and staff team.

Throughout our whole trip through Scotland this restaurant had the best service. Servers who liked to engage with the customers and not leave them wanting. The food was also very well done with decent sized portions. Nice varied menu. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Me and my friends were in on New Years. We had a fantastic time, great environment, lovely atmosphere, and lovely staff. Two staff in particular stood out, Erin and Brad who were both very helpful, kind, and polite throughout our whole visit

Booked a table for 8. We've tried a number of places locally when visiting my in-laws over the years and can confidently say that this is one of the best meals out we've had. This despite the fact that there were only two front of house staff on shift, both of whom delivered exceptional service and should be commended on their cool demeanor and welcoming attitude. Food was great also, great burgers especially. Wonderful experience and we'll definitely be back.

It was very welcoming and our visitors wee dog loved the treats and blanket provided. The staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough to make it a good afternoon. Although a few things were off the menu our party found enough other things on the menu to satisfy their hunger.

From start to finish abysmal. Staff very unprofessional not very attentive had to ask for various things several times..eg.bread and butter arrived when meal almost finished! A majority of the food was served tepid,bordering on being cold! Food itself was not of high standard! Hairs found in Cauliflower and cheese! All in all not a good experience! Even had to ask twice to get our desserts! Total time at table almost 3 hours! Unacceptable,won't be back!

11 of us came in December for the Festive Evening Meal. The menu gave lots of choices & everyone was able to choose something they liked. The food itself was served piping hot when served & delicious. Our servers Erin & Liam looked after us from the moment we arrived til we left. They checked on us throughout our meal checking if everything was okay or if we needed more drinks. Would recommend as a welcoming, family friendly establishment.

Christmas lunch. All had to be pre-booked. Service excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Ambience great. Shame the chef is not very good at cooking green veg: the sprouts and broccoli were not nice. Other than that the turkey dinner I had was tasty. It would have been nice to have more than just breast meat. The interloping Sassenach Yorkshire pudding was not welcome. Unremarkable roast potatoes. My guests enjoyed their cheesecakes. I was not particularly taken by what had been described as a Christmas pudding: a hot brownie with some fruit drowned in cold custard (with a hint of brandy) topped with badly made ice cream with nasty ice crystals. The pre-ordered coffee and fudge didn't appear. Apparently because it wasn't on the server's instructions.

As described my complaint is the cost of the wine per glass,when we could have had a bottle for slightly more, had this Been pointed out

Everyone really enjoyed their food. All the servers were friendly and helped us with out large food order. Food was standard Kids loved the outside play area.

Have been before, and it was fine. Took my mother on Saturday. Simple fish and chips. Fish was tasteless. Chips were definitely fried in dirty oil. Side salad with no tomatoes. It was very overpriced for what we had. Staff were lovely and very efficient.I wouldn't go back in a hurry.

Monday, 16th December ’24. The service was really friendly and the staff delivered nice, hot food in a timely manner. A pleasant place to eat out and the staff definitely delivered a great Christmas meal today.

My family has just enjoyed a wonderful family Christmas/Birthday meal. We were a big party and we're treated so well. The team was so accommodating, friendly and attentive. We had a lovely, leisurely afternoon. The food was lovely and priced accordingly. The restaurant was clean and well appointed and the play area was great fun for the kids. We'd highly recommended the Camperdown Elm and we're already looking forward to our next visit.

Very clean and warm pub Staff are super friendly and helpful I had 4 meals there all fantastic Recommend the stake Americano ,they even saved a roast dinner on Sunday for us as we we're working late This is the pub all the others need to catch up with

Had a quiz night for The Stroke Association on the 29th November, it was very good night and Liam was excellent. Going back again next month for another quiz night.

The Camperdown Elm has both a nice decor and atmosphere coupled with good and friendly service. Whilst the lunch special has a limited menu the food chosen was good, tasty and came out hot.

I usually visits the Camperdown Elm with acouple of my woofs usually for a roast Sunday lunch which I absolutely love! I love the attention to details for the dogs and the Roast dinners are delicious. My most recent visit however was for an early festive meal with friends. The restaurant was decked out beautiful festive, the turkey dinner was huge and very good. We all loved the festive decorations on our desserts (it's the little details). We had a lovely evening and look forward to seeing you all again soon. Wishing 'The Camperdown Elm' a fabulous festive season xx

Was here tonight for the 1st time in a long time and it will certainly be the last. The fish was absolutely vile, the service may be good but the food is a big let down. Would not recommend this place to anyone that has taste buds

My dad was not one for changing where he ate so getting him here was not easy but now that he's been this is now his new favourite. Amazing service from start to finish and the food and price were excellent. Plenty space to park for free and plenty room inside and out, if it's a nice day.

Fantastic visit as usual. The team are very welcoming and always willing to have a chat. I am Lactose Intolerant and my friend suffers from Celiac. The crew at ‘the elm’ were very accommodating and ensured our needs were met. The meal was prepped to a fantastic standard and a high quality. (We highly recommend the Hunters Chicken, without the cheese if you are lactose). Big thanks to Charlie, Liam & Erin for being such accommodating and friendly hosts for the evening.

Only been in for drinks but it’s a really nice environment. Love taking my dog there. It’s nice to have somewhere she’s welcomed and not just tolerated. Charlie is lovely and really hospitable and my canine buddy loves her dog bar. That being said as well, the dogs are allowed in the bar area and there’s a whole lounge/restaurant that’s separated so if you are not a dog lover you can eat in peace!

I discovered this pub a couple of months ago. i was coming back up to Aberdeen for Glasgow. Stop at the pub to get some eat with my dog, and the member of staff was really attentive friendly to us. i can not fault the service for her.i stopped in again on Monday last week on my way down to Glasgow again and both memory staff who were working that day I cannot fault the service again from them they were really friendly to me and my dog I keep telling people about this pub if they are going pass the pub to stop and get some to eat it is truly the hidden gem of pub in Dundee

Staff were very warm and welcoming. Service was brilliant. Staff came and checked back with us to make sure we were ok. Our server whose name i'm not sure of went and got a few pictures for my son to colour in and at the end of our meal he helped to pin them on the wall. Our little one was delighted to see his artwork on the wall. The food we had was delicious and fantastic value. Will 100% be planning a return visit

We have been twice in 1 week we enjoyed it so much the first time , insure of the staff members name from the 1st time tonight was a lovely lady Erin service and food were both fabulous, highly recomend, service on both nights were great couldn't of been more attentive thank you .

First visit this afternoon to this lovely little restaurant. The food was incredibly tasty and came piping hot. The waiting team were very attentive and were full of smiles and helped make our visit memorable. We will definitely be back. 5 stats isn't enough.

I received a 30% off flyer through my house. Thought I'd give it a go. It was a hidden gem. Very good ambience and surroundings. Staff very welcoming. Didn't know it was there to be honest.

When we arrived the pleasant young waitress took us to our table. We asked to move as the table was very central to the restaurant and I prefer a less visible place to eat, just the way I am. There was no hesitation on her behalf and she offered us a more private table setting. She took our drink order there and after about 5 minutes her colleague arrived with the drinks and we gave our food order. So far so good. My father had a steak and I had the scampi and we were also offered a lovely bread. All of the food was at the correct temperature and was so well set out and tasted excellent. We both cleared our plates and finished the meal off with some coffees. A wonderful eating place which I hope more people use. Well done to all concerned.

Got the family all together for my dad's 60th Birthday and with 5 kids, asked to be placed near the playpark and the kids had a blast meaning the parents did too! Staff were so attentive and great with the young ones. Apologise I don't remember our servers name but she was brilliant as was the male manager on shift. Food was delicious and service was great. We brought a birthday cake and they were so helpful getting us all organised and helping with photos. We will for sure be back

Myself and my partner brought the grandkids for lunch. Food was fresh and tasty, reasonably priced and staff members Charlie & Erin were very friendly. The gluten free menu was fab too. Another positive note and certainly a point to bring us back was after our meals the kids played pool and went out to the play equipment. At no point were we rushed away or felt we'd over stayed out welcome. Great place for families.

My server was erin who was a delightful young women put my mum at ease as she has dementia had a wee blether and laugh a credit to your company

Howdy doodly, I attended the camperdown Elm yesterday and found d the place to be immaculate and the staff particularly friendly especially Erin, she made a fantastic coffee and looked after us very well. I found the food to be fantastic so kudos to the clearly brilliant kitchen team. 5/5 would very much recommend

highlight of the evening: the food. The menu at The Camperdown Elm offers a wide range of flavourful dishes that cater to a variety of palates. We decided to share a selection of appetisers, including the signature sharer and the bbq cauliflower wings, both of which were creative and beautifully presented well done the to chefs. thoroughly enjoyed our time being here and our waitress Kayla was a delight very caring and hospitable highly recommend

The food was terrible, I honestly have never had food so bad when eating out and I absolutely love pub food. I ordered the steak pie, I was shocked to discover it was pretty much a pukka pie from Asda that I do in the air fryer at home. The mashed potatoes I'm pretty sure was smash or the equivalent. The person I was dining with had what looked like fries to go and half the bowl was cold, half was warm. Will not be returning.

Visited here today for some lunch. Sadly very dissapointed. Ordered sweet potato and chickpea curry. When it came potato chunks were still stone cold. Sent back to be reheated and when it arrived was all stuck to the inside of the curry bowl. Pure black underneath. Poppadoms soft . Husband ordered the beef pie chips and veg which was to be glazed carrots ,green beans mange tout and peas. Was advised after ordering that they had no vegetables apart from garden peas which my husband doesn't like. Ordered hunters chicken instead with chips and because no veg it was replaced with what they called salad which was a half of bag of lettuce leaves. No tomatoes, no cucumber, no peppers or sald drizzle . Shocking. Chicken slightly overcooked and tough .Chef obviously had a bad day if there was an actual chef on. Standard of food very very poor. They couldn't even get the drinks correct. Asked for one cube of ice in cold drink but came filled with ice.The waiter was very apologetic about the whole experience and very nice. But overall experience disappointed and not value for money at almost fifteen pound per meal .Although they only charged half price for the cold curry. Afraid we won't be back

Had a most enjoyable meal this afternoon. Friendly staff excellent service. Despite this, I asked if I could have some side salad with my Scampi. The salad was not on the menu with the Scampi but the waiter said I could have it. The salad which was only a small bowl of lettuce, no cucumber tomato etc. Only when I paid the bill did I notice I had been charged £2:99 for the salad, which I felt was totally ridiculous for a small bowl of lettuce only.

Lady who greeted us was super-friendly and really bubbly. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Just how a server should be. Hope she gets the recognition she deserves. Drinks and main meals were brought out within a decent time of ordering and were all tasty and good value. Unfortunately there was a long wait for our desserts but they were worth waiting for, and the server did apologise for the delay. Competitively priced. Would visit again next time we are in the area.

Had a really nice time. I phoned ahead to check if you were dog friendly, which you were and then some. Very nice to receive water, biscuits and a blanket for the dog completely unprompted. The service was very prompt and all staff that looked after us were very friendly. It was a nice surprise to see the pool table and various promotions on through the week. We'll be moving into the area in the next few months, and this will be our local. We will certainly be back with our friends and family.

What an experience from start to finish. We’ve visited a few times in the past 6 months and have always loved the offering. We were celebrating a birthday, and the team left a card on the table and offered a free desert - what a gesture! They even have a doggy menu available - safe to say our wee man was in food heaven 😂 You’ve got such a welcoming team, showed us to our table, greeted our dog, and just made the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable. The food was lovely and the staff were very attentive, especially James he was brilliant with my partner and I and both our kids. We will defo be back. Very friendly affordable lace, nice staff and nice food and an added bonus- play area for our kids.

James (dark hair) our waiter was super attentive, went above and beyond for myself my partner and children. He kept us informed and ensured our table was always cleared and topped up on drinks etc. He was extremely polite, good sense of humour. The food was delicious, very high standard. Look forward to returning again.

Very disappointed with some of the food,I got the fish and it was lovely, my friend also got fish and is was discussing fish it was all batter.

Fast becoming our midweek treat. Food is great especially the set evening menu. Great value for money. Staff are super friendly, especially the manager, Charlie. She always has a huge welcome for our pup Selkie. Giving her lots of attention and treats. Highly recommend.

First time I’ve been in a while. I’m with my children and grandchildren. Food was very good. Service was great. Special mention for Kayla who sorted out my granddaughter’s burger for her. Will certainly be coming back.

Good pub style restaurant with a great selection on the menu. The food is average to good and on the four occasions I’ve visited I’ve not been let down but I’m yet to have a dish that exceeds expectations. The service has been consistently good and I have always found staff friendly and helpful. On this occasion Elysa gave us a friendly welcome and was very good with my six year old daughter. She was given a colouring activity and crayons. Elysa was also attentive and took on some feedback well for passing to management for one of the dishes. The kids play area is also a hit and it’s a convenient stop when travelling through Dundee.

Went here for a late lunch. Staff attentive. Order taken for drinks quickly closely followed by food order. Food of good quality, portion size and price. Welcoming environment.

Phoned and booked a table for 19:45, via the digital booking system. We did arrive late at 20:00 and were then told that the kitchen closes at 19:45 (on a Saturday night!!!!) and that they had tried to call at 19:50. Why does the booking system accept a booking at the same time as the kitchen closes! We will NEVER go back!

From our arrival all throughout our meal the service we received was friendly & attentive from all staff . The menu was was varied with something for everyone. The food itself was delicious & well above your average pub grub.

Staff member was friendly and premises is dog friendly which is the only reason for giving two rating instead of 1. The food was really poor and not any better than a wetherspoon type place. We were actually embarrassed that we took visiting family members there. The quality of dishes certainly did not match the prices. Thick stodgy mash, overcooked & unseasoned vegetables/mush. Pan seared sea bass was soggy and barely scrapped average. Chicken mushroom pie was soggy (suspect microwaved) and there was no taste of a cider gravy as described. It also came with a separate pot of what was meant to be gravy but it was just a thick lumpy jelly. The fish was off as the fryer for it was broken… Can’t really understand the good reviews. We definitely have no intentions of returning and wouldn’t recommend!
