Have been here several times now since early this year and just love it! Great wee typical Dundee pub and restaurant! The atmosphere is very good, service is good, friendly staff both in restaurant and bar, the food is delish! There is a fair sized car park at the back, also plenty car parking on the street.. I highly recommend this place! A special shout out to Kloey and Amelia l, both great waitresses and very attentive! Keep the good work up!

Tuesday tea time, quite quiet, Friday before it was fully booked, couldn't get a table. Steak pie, smaller portion was massive, tasty, fresh, well cooked. Service was spot on. Very nice experience.

Popped in this well run family bar and lounge to try their new food menu, received a warm welcome on our arrival by friendly bar staff before waiter took us to our table and gave us a menu as well as some advice on various selections, The chicken Fajitas were amazing and my partner enjoyed her steak pie , fajitas arrived on a sizzling platter and steak pie was also hot on arrival at the table. Great food and service and very reasonably priced. Will recommend and return soon.

First time at the Board Rock. Lovely meal and excellent service. 3 people had Scami, Mac and Cheese and Chicken Curry. We’ll be back.

Have been before. Food was good as usual. This time, we felt service just a tad slow. We do want our food freshly cooked and not microwaved. This was freshly cooked, which we know takes longer. We were not put out, as we wanted a long leisurely meal and a good chinwag. But if you were to be in a hurry. Perhaps hinting, as such, would be a good plan. Staff were very nice. good atmosphere. Music got a wee bit loud for a time. Last time, I'd have rated it better. This time, I would really rate it at three and a half.

Did not enjoy my visit as a few rough punters hanging about bar area, not impressed at all. I definitely prefer my local bar in Monifieth better.

I’m a long distance truck driver and went in looking for an evening meal. Unfortunately food was unavailable as they had had a funeral wake that day. The bar staff very happily directed me to the chippy next door and told me I was more than welcome to bring it in to the bar to eat which makes a happy change from eating in the wagon! Staff very friendly too.

I Was there after we buried Donald CREE David CREE 😔 My Stepfather older brother.

Had a lovely meal here today. Staff were very smily and cheery even though it was very busy in the restaurant. Spoke to a girl who said she’s taken over not so long ago and this Friday was busier than usual. We had a spicy chicken starter and fish n chips. Batter was crispy and the chips are amazing. Definitely somewhere we will come back to soon.

Booked last minute as it was a terrible day in Dundee. Visited with husband and father. Greeted well and we got a table, very lucky it seems as the place filled up fast. We had the salmon, macaroni and fish. Husband said was the best cheese sauce he’s ever tasted, salmon was tasty, and dad loved the fish, his plate was cleared. Reasonable priced too,

Went for lunch,so disappointing, ordered beer battered haddock,when it arrived the Batter was dryed out and falling off the over cooked dryed out fish,the chips had been salted on the plate before being served which I never add salt, this made me thirsty all afternoon.the peas were fine.meals used to be lovely here, what's happened??

Four of us decided to try the new menu at the boars, received a warm welcome from the friendly bar staff, we were given a table and drinks order was quickly taken, waitress brought our menu and advised us of our various options , the steak pie and the chicken kebabs were excellent, all food was piping hot and the service was also very gd.

Food was excellant, staff very helpful. Definitely recommend.

Food service terrible. 25mins wait for starter. Another 15 for main. Fish and chips mediocre . No lemon noxtartare sauce. Macaroni tasteless. Apple crumble looked a week old. 3rd visit

Went in yesterday for a meal with the family, absolutely brilliant. The food was beautiful, the waitress was hilarious and the atmosphere was welcoming. Definitely recommend a visit here.

I ate here and had an excellent sirloin steak. The prices for food are very reasonable and service was good too.

Went in for a couple of drinks and a meal. Waitress wanted us to order straight away as there was a large family group in. We declined and ask to order later after them. She threw the pad onto the desk below the table where we were sitting and stormed away. Wasn't sure if we were allowed to order after the family as she didn't come back after speaking to the chef. Needless to say we had two drinks and left.

Popped in with friends for lunch, welcomed by staff and quickly seated, excellent choice of food on the menu the fish and chips and the steak pie were well above average and great value for money as well as generous portions. Will certainly visit again and recommend.

Back in Dundee for a few days and The Boars Rock was recommended by a local. The menu was big enough choice for myself and family to find something we fancied for dinner. Steak Pie and Fish and chips. Good home cooked food was enjoyed by all . Good value for what you get . Would recommend.

Fui aquí el sábado 22 con algunos amigos para comer y tomar unas copas. La comida estaba bien, pero el servicio fue terrible de la señora que servía la comida. Era casi como si no quisiera estar allí e hizo que todos lo supieran. También comentó que nuestra mesa estaba ruidosa pero que no había música ni televisión en este momento, así que 6 chicos van a ser un poco más ruidosos de lo habitual. La cerveza estaba buena y el personal del bar estaba bien, pero no volverá con prisa para comer.
