I have eaten better pizzas by far but it is good to eat something fresh and authentic. I would not recommend the pizzas that don't have a tomato base, as they can quickly become too heavy to swallow and later digest. Calamaris and Parmegiana (pardon for the spelling) are good choices for starters!!

This is my second visit and I cannot fault it. The food is delicious and a vast choice. Staff are all very pleasant, friendly and welcoming. Prices for a major city restaurant are very competitive. Highly recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Very good Neapolitan pizzas. The edges are well blown and slightly burnt as required. Be careful, they are quite generous, it is difficult to have a starter and a pizza per person. Also, pizzas with a cheese base, although they are very good, can be heavy. My advice, if you feel like it, take them to share. The parmigiana and fried squid as starters are very good. I recommend it to you. Small downside if you come in the evening the kitchen closes at 9:15 p.m. while the closing time is 10:00 p.m.

The most delicious Neapolitan pizza shop in Edinburgh ♫ It is always crowded with many customers! ! When I ordered 3 pizzas for takeout, they gave me a little extra! It took about 10 minutes to bake and each pizza was delicious!

If you love pizza, go here. It's a no-frills kind of a place, but the food has all the bells and whistles. The Pizzas are freshly made and have some excellent toping combos. Pictured: a veggie half and a prosciutto and burratta half (me and my friend went sharesies). We had soft drinks and it came £20 each with tip. Go!

Overrated. Ordered the special with sausage. Sausage was bland and can’t have been authentic. Food was heavy. Cooks and pizza oven are in the same room as the customer, I got the impression there’s not much of a standard. Asked for an Italian non alcoholic drink, was told none available, I noticed on paying that there was a selection of San Pellegrino and pointed it out, waitress said “I’m not Italian” and then, disrespect, as I was leaving “I’ll ask the other staff”. Felt bad when left. Not at all of the quality in Italy. The style somewhat resembles Neapolitan so I guess that’s what they say they’re doing. There’s good Neapolitan pizzerias in Edinburgh like Razzo and Matto.

Mi marido y yo visitamos el domingo 11 de marzo, con una reserva. Habíamos visitado anteriormente cuando el lugar estaba bajo diferente propiedad (era propiedad de la misma familia que posee Locanda di Gusti al otro lado de la carretera - que es el mejor lugar para la comida italiana real en Edimburgo! ) Compartimos: Focaccia del ajo Antipasti Parmigiana Albóndigas Lasagne También pedimos un poco de pan fresco Sin excepción la comida fue decepcionante. En el mejor de los casos era adecuado (la focaccia estaba bien cocinada pero carecía de sabor real). Lamentablemente otro plato era muy pobre, no era diferente de comer comida preparada o comida estándar de avión. Las albóndigas, la lasaña y la parmigiana sabían igual. Bajo condimento sin albahaca. La lasaña no tenía textura: la pasta se había roto en pequeños trozos. El pan fresco estaba rancio Faltaba mucho servicio. Y el restaurante no estaba nada ocupado - otras tres mesas estaban ocupadas. Deberíamos haber tomado esto como una señal de lo que estaba por venir - este restaurante solía estar moviéndose. Pedimos la factura y cortésmente dijimos que estábamos descontentos con la comida que nos habían servido. Cuando llegó el proyecto de ley, parecía inapropiado que se hubiera aplicado un cargo por servicios. Esto fue eliminado a petición nuestra. Evitar.

The spicy sausage pizza was the best of the 4 we had. If booking with it is on voucher make sure you have gone through full sign in with their site to get QR/code so you don't look like a numpty as I did

Super service and amazing food!

Maybe it’s because I didn’t try to appreciate the bottom of the pancake, and the edge of the pancake was so soft when I bit into it. The fillings are good, especially the four-style cheese🧀 with some nuts, which makes the texture more layered. The waiter sister has good service.

Amazing pizza! So glad we visited during our trip to Edinburgh. The pizza was delicious, beautiful base and great selection of toppings. Staff were friendly and efficient. It's a bit further out from the centre but worth travelling to for delicious, authentic pizza. Excellent value too.

Recommended by Italian people, Pizzeria 1926 truly serves the good quality of pizza not so far from Haymarket station. The pizza we order that day was Natan 3 with mozzarella, rocket and salad. The flavour is nice. The maradona with tomato, salami meatball and sausage would be perfect for meat lover. The star that steals the show for me is the calamari which is very huge appetizer. Golden colour with light battered allow me to taste the freshness of this type of squid. You might feel almost full from the beginning. I need to take away half of my pizza. There are other toppings for pizza to try even the pasta. The staff is generally nice. Please look for the itison coupon as well which would elevate the savviness for your mealdeal . PS. It could be very crowded and fully booked so make sure you book the table is advance especially the weekends.

Esta pizzería solía estar en mi top 3 de los mejores lugares de pizza en Edimburgo, pero desafortunadamente, después de regresar un par de años después, me decepcionó un poco. Los arancini solían ser increíbles. Mi favorito eran los porcini. Esta vez recibí un par de bolas de arroz secas que recuerdan vagamente a las sicilianas. Pedí una Margherita. Como amante de la pizza para mí se concede terminar una pizza sin esfuerzo, pero esta vez me costó debido a lo pesada que era la masa, con la mozzarella un poco pegada. El menú decía que la mozzarella era un fior di latte DOP, pero recuerdo que esto se mencionó cuando solía comer aquí más a menudo, y el sabor y la textura eran diferentes. Era una pizza bien, si usted está pidiendo en un lugar sin la reputación 1926 tiene. Creo que algo cambió, no sé qué ya que no me informan al respecto, pero la diferencia es abisal y lo siento mucho. Después de la cena les pedí una retroalimentación a mis amigos comprobando si estaban sintiendo lo mismo y ellos estuvieron de acuerdo, que todo les parecía agobiante. Solía amar tanto este lugar. Without a doubt this is the best pizza you can get in Edinburgh! I got the San Paolo as usual, usually it tastes much better than it was yesterday as the dough was soggy especially in the middle. EDIT: The dough is never the same as it was before… They changed the recipe…

A brilliant pizzeria with an Italian footballing theme. I've eaten here with friends and family on numerous occasions and the food has been consistently awesome!

If you want to eat a proper original Italian pizza, this is the place you need. Highly recommend. I will be back for sure soon 🤤

Excellent place for a casual pizza. Food was lovely (I had the natan 3) and my son had the San Paolo. Lovely big crusts, generous toppings and cooked to perfect. My son had gelato for dessert and I had the Tiramasu, both lovely.

The pizza in here is phenomenal! The range of options and flavours is unreal. They are big enough to share or take some home with you. The staff are so lovely and helpful, you couldn’t ask for a nicer bunch of people to interact with.

Pizza para llevar. En primer lugar, la entrega que debería haber recibido en mi puerta, en su lugar tuve que salir al otro lado de la carretera en la lluvia derramada para recogerlo, ya que estaba sentado en su coche. Luego, al abrirlo, estaba frío como una piedra. Finalmente, el pepperoni era demasiado salado, básicamente no comestible. Gran decepción en general, ya que tenía grandes esperanzas para este lugar.

Really nice neapolitan style pizzas

Used to be the best pizza in Edinburgh. Avoiding from now on. But service is excellent. If you could up the kitchen, the staff are really nice but the food has turned to british.

Three of us went for a pizza and a bottle of wine and ended up having a tiramisu also. Went without a reservation although probably better if you book. The atmosphere is great with the Napoli football team as their style if you're a football fan it worth going here. Pizza were great. Staff very attentive.

Pizza delivered via Uber. Cold, not cooked properly. Too much mozzarella and already cut. Far from being a traditional Neapolitan pizzeria. The Pizza I got delivered is far from representing the traditional Neapolitan Pizza. I ordered a San Paolo (basically a Margherita with Buffalo mozzarella). The Pizza was overloaded with the mozzarella pasta, no much tomato sauce and already sliced. Definitely not recommended for a real Italian experience, or if you are an Italian like me and you miss a real taste of home.

Come here sit in or take away every week. Have had pizza in many Euro-America places along years of my student life, this is the only one makes me understand the reason why Italian are proud of their pizza. It's hard to beat the quality and value of their pizza in Edinburgh. I've visited twice (first in 2019 and second in 2024) and both times have been excellent. The house wine was a good pairing too. Highly recommend.

Great pizza at a fair price. A good range of pizza topping all with quality ingredients cooked in a domes pizza oven. The interior is simple but doesn't detract from the experience.

Not a good experience as a ‘restaurant’. It doubles as a take-away so at some point there was a guy holding a skateboard and a couple of Deliveroo guys with their big backpacks almost touching me. Other than that, my calzone was cold inside; I was told this was normal as there was ricotta inside. The menu should say that calzone comes cold inside - not everyone will know that ricotta makes it cold. I won’t be coming back.

The food was amazing, we ordered pizza and our son really enjoyed the interaction from the staff. We could finish the pizza so the staff boxed it and we took it home. We had a great time :)

Diese typische italienische Pizzeria im Stile einer Fankneipe des SSC Neapel ist klein und deshalb eine Reservierung (Zeitfenster 90 Minuten, passt absolut) dringend angeraten! Das freundliche und aufmerksame Personal bringt die leckeren Speisen und Getränke zügig an den Tisch. Pizza (alle mit Namen von Fußballern) und Nachspeise haben uns voll überzeugt. Leider war als Digestiv kein "cafe coretto" erhältlich, aber der Espresso schmeckte auch "ohne Schuss".

Eine wirklich total süsse Pizzeria mit sehr netten Angestellten und leckerem Essen. Ich kann es nur empfehlen und komme wieder!

Among the pizzerias we tried, this was the best, pizza with truly excellent ingredients and light dough. The Ciurilli are always a guarantee and the ricotta cream is excellent. Good tiramisu, shame about the sweet cocoa.

This pizza was exceptional—one of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere was welcoming and inviting, and the prices were incredibly reasonable. I was so impressed that I even tipped extra on top of the service fee.

Fantastic food. We did not book table before visiting but the staff arranged place for us. We are very satisfied.

Used to be, in my opinion, the best Pizza in Edinburgh. Have recommended it to family and friends. Was in during the Fringe and the Pizza was nowhere near as good. It appeared a lot smaller and thinner than before. Still tasted fine. I asked the female staff but she was new and didn't know. She did give us a Limoncello on the house, so no complaint about the service. I contacted the Restaurant twice on their site but got no reply. I told them Id rather pay more for the old style Pizza than have a reduced size/quality one.

I ordered using their app. It charged me a processing fee (WTH??) then I arrived on time to pick up my order. It was stated in the app that the food was ready. I waited for 10 minutes for a part of my order to get ready. I got the food, got into my car and went home (2 minute drive) and the food was ice cold. I can't even tell if the pizza was good when it was hot.

An Italian uber driver recommended Pizzeria 1926 and it did not disappoint! Nice and spacious restaurant with fantastic baby changing facilities. Friendly staff who added to the experience but let's not forgrt the food. DELICIOUS! We'll be back again for sure.

The food was amazing, we ordered a vegetarian pizza and one with meat. The portion size was huge, it can be easily shared with someone. They have many vegetarian options. The tiramisu was average. The only thing that I didn’t like was the service, as soon as we sat down the server asked is if we wanted something to drink, I had not even got the chance to look at the menu. I asked for more time and they dropped by again to take food orders after 5 minutes or so while I was still looking at the menu, I felt rushed. Mind you we had made reservations for this place, before we were even seated at our table we were told we had the table for 1.5 hours. All this kind of ruined the experience, we went there for our anniversary dinner, we had mentioned that on our reservation. When you are going out to eat you don’t want to be rushed, rather you want to enjoy the food. Although, I do appreciate that while paying the bill they didn’t automatically add the 10% service charge which many other restaurants are doing these days, instead they asked us if we wanted to pay with the service charge but we declined as it was not good at all. I would probably get takeaway next time.

Everyone was super friendly and the food was hearty and delicious. Everything felt authentic without making feel ‘Disney-fied ’. Arancini starters were good and their pizza are wonderful. Lasagna was also delicious and hot all the way through. Reasonably priced too. Highly recommend.

The classic pizza has an excellent dough and taste. I wanted to try the fried calzone I had never tried before...unfortunately the taste of the oil was really heavy and not pleasant. .I'm sorry because it seemed really excellent... the oil probably needed to be changed... the service was excellent, the girls especially Mira, whose name I don't know, was so nice and present... the pizza chef was very nice and friendly ... we will return because we understand that an inconvenience can happen... congratulations...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the best pizzas I've eaten anywhere in the world! The taste was simply magnificent, perfectly prepared and absolutely authentic. The service was extremely fast and the service was simply top-notch - friendly, attentive and made the visit a great experience. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Service was great, but my pizza wanted for something. The cheese was super uneven giving me many bites of soggy tomato bread. It was also so loud I couldn't hear the person across the table from me. Overall it was a fun time but I am not sure I'd hurry back

Excellent food, but manager was a little bit rude. We had booked a table in advance, and were told twice throughout the course of our meal that we had to be out within an hour and a half to make way for the next table. Nevertheless, the food (pizza especially, was excellent)

One of the people at our table got a pizza with raw sausages on top. They kindly made a new one but our friend had to wait. Something we didn’t like was that, when paying, the waitress was pushy with the service charge and tried to be cheeky about it. 1926 used to have the best pizza and service in town, but not anymore which is more evident since the cooks left.

The most amazing, life-altering, earth-shattering lasagna I’ve ever had. My grandmother is Italian, but this lasagna puts it to shame. The pizza was exquisite. Could not get enough even though I was full to the brim. Staff is also very kind and welcoming. Would absolutely recommend.
