What a great little find! The food was out of this world. A small establishment with a tiny open kitchen but the taste was huge!
We'll definitely be back again when in the area!
Been back today and no change to this feedback. Love this place! Came away stuffed!
Even though busy, the owner still had time to chat and make sure we were enjoying our food!
This is a lovely little community owned pub that does pub food that's a little better than your normal pub grub. Proper burgers and some nice different items you wouldn't find in your normal local pub.
Food was hot, came on time and the portions were great.
The Spicy King Prawn Bruschetta was super tasty.
The Sticky Beef Burger wasn't what I thought it was going to be but it tasted great.
A little out the way but will definitely be back again.
Looked forward to eating in Time. Staff lovely, happy ambience, menu choices great. Food not as great. Could have been so much better with fresh local ingredients eg Homemade bread for toast, so for the price tag a tad expensive, therefore a little disappointed.
Always nice to discover a new place by chance. My friend and i were heading for breakfast at Wetherspoons Main St. Rutherglen but they were closed due to a water stoppage. At a bit of a loose end for options, a stranger recommended Niu Cafe in a side St off Main St. All the time i have lived in nearby Kings park and i never new this quaint little place existed. Seemingly, operating since 1999 this small cafe is run by a lovely chinese family. They have an extensive menu catering for all tastes and a special deal childrens 3 course meal. Breakfast is a complete joy, far better quality than Wetherspoons at a similar price. Every breakfast item you could wish for with tea, or coffee and toast included. Portions are huge. A very good deal indeed. Niu is situated on Greenbank St. A very short distance from Main St Rutherglen.A return visit is on the cards
Comida increÃble como siempre. El personal es absolutamente fantástico y la comida siempre es excelente y a un precio muy razonable. Nunca decepcionará.
Absolutely outstanding. We ordered each of the dishes on the menu and they were all 10 out of 10. Young staff enthusiastic despite the closure.
But wait.......we can never go back despite being very keen to do so,,,,why you ask...well its now closed down. Now if this restaurant was in the Merchant City/Finniston or the south side it would have been packed out every day, but because of its location right in the city centre it didn't stand a chance. Oh and the lack of publicity did not help. So guys you have missed the boat on this one, mores the pity.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere
A very nice 40's theme, with two highly trained chefs running the place
My favourite in Dundee. I strongly recommend it!
got the tonkotsu ramen, rich and creamy, very warming for a cold winter day, the pork was cooked very nicely, quick service and friendly staff too, highly recommend, there is also a 10% discount if you pay with cash!
Food and service were good. The ambience has absolutely nothing to do with a restaurant. It was freezing cold and the radiator running didn't make much difference other than noise. You should dress warmly.
