Nice atmosphere, very friendly staff. They offered a full vegetarian breakfast, with vegetarian haggis, two different vegetarian sausages and bacon! Wonderful!

Moonwake is a cool place and that's my first tip. Tip: It gets cold here, even under the heat lamps but bring a coat and come anyway. This is a review of the Moonwalk Taproom. Yeah, there's a brewery here and from those clean and shiny vats come some great tasting, local and craft beer. But what else can I say about the brewery? I suppose I could say that the open entrance space has been used for a local pop up market and it was petite but fun. There were just a few stalls but each one was local, quality and good. The main reason, unless you want to look at shiny vats, to visit is the taproom. The taproom is up a flight of stairs, is on a balcony and overlooks the brewery. Isn't that a great place to enjoy freshly poured pints? Staff here are friendly and since they make the beer on offer are way more involved than some city centre franchise clone. You can meet the owners here. Order at the bar or at the table. I've talked through what I feel like and have had recommendations. Tip: Moonwake is a local treasure, isn't huge so you can strike out and turn up when there are no free tables. Consider getting in touch if you want to bring the office or a group of friends. Pizza! For at least half the time I've been drinking here there's been a deal with Pizza Geeks. That's a brilliant local pizzeria. Use their app to do an "at table" order. Frankly, beer from the brewery served with freshly made pizza carried over the bridge from the local restaurant is amazing. Tip: Follow Moonwake on social media. They're lovely, transparent, informative and it's the best place to keep up with their latest brews and events. I'm a fan but I'm yet to try their e-commerce offer. If I buy a crate of their beer then I'd drink it! Order a delivery last nigh at 7 o’clock waited nearly 2 hours just for them to cancel my order very disappointed as I always order from here and was excited to try the burger but won’t be back.

Very enjoyable and great food. Hosts were friendly and shared stories about the local culture. Recommend!

Best local small restaurant, love this place, food is amazing

On a cold miserable day we went for lunch. A lovely bowl of tasty soup warmed the cockles and ham and cheese panini which was filled with thick ham and lovely cheese not the usual tasteless stuff you get in some places! Lovely log burning stove raging away to keep us warm! Would recommend

I’m not a huge marshmallow fan, but their marshmallows are insanely good! The cinnamon ones are amazing. Loved the puffin poo and hot chocolate as well. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely wee spot, food was enjoyed very much but the portions were so small we couldn't believe our eyes..we thought prices were reasonable until we realised there was barely any food in the plates..we also ordered quite a lot of wine thinking we'd be able to match it with the amount of food and it was a bit disappointing. Must admit we left the restaurant and went to get a burger to fill up our bellies! I still recommend this place as the food was really tasty, service was great and the staff very friendly!

This cafe went above and beyond. Not only did I get chips and cheese with a coffee (after a 30mile bike ride) but I also managed to charge my phone and when I asked when the ferry was due got an up to the minute status
