Found this place in March 2022 when looking for a place to wait for friends met through Couchsurfing. Ordered a triple espresso and it was so good - the after taste just stayed with me - I ordered a second triple!! Notwithstanding my heart was going at double its usual rate for the next 6+ hours, it was definitely worth it. If I get back to the UK in my next 6 month trip from October this year, I think I will a return to Glasgow just for the coffee is worth the trip!! Glasgow is definitely worth a visit anyway - as is the Glasgow Gander Walking Tour. This was my second visit in 3 years. Am seriously sorry I didn't find Cafe Calla the first time!!

We arrived at the cafe and went to the counter to order. Whilst ordering two of their cooked breakfasts the chef, who was also behind the counter was rolling his eyes as if it was a problem for him to do. He starts moaning that he needed to go and that everytime he tries to get away someone else comes in! We nearly left! It was as if it was all too much trouble. Most of the lights apart from one were off and some of the furniture was stacked up. Not really sure what was going on. The breakfast and coffees were nice but with a chap in charge like that I wouldn’t rush back. Whatever problems he had they should have been kept out the back and not in front of the customers. Very unprofessional.

After living in the USA for years it was great to find this place, just around the corner from the Blythswood Square hotel. Fantastic roll and sausage or a number of full menu items. Great tea and all the types of coffee you want. It’s clean and nicely decorated.

I have been to many cafes in Glasgow but this beats them all...on service, quality, atmosphere and value. The coffee was superb - great tasting, well made. Exceptional place to have an informal business meeting. Will undoubtedly return.

we where there for a 50th birthday party. A cozy space, but plenty of room for guests to be seated and to mill around, the food was amazing, totally not your run of the mill buffet, delicious. hot and cold food. and it was bring your own bottle.I would like to try the day time menu, and try some more food, i dont think i would be disappointment. On another plus point, the toilets passed my test too, In too many small places they spend money at front of house and the toilets leave a lot to be desired, not in here, there is one toilet for everyone m but its roomy, clean and you dont feel like you have been put in the broom cupboard. Definateloy be back, i would certainly consider this venue for a private function .

Been here for both a lunch and a private event. The staff ensure you have a wholesome tasty meal with friendly service. When it’s a private function nothing is too much trouble for them they go out of their way to ensure your event is individually tailored to your needs. A great find highly recommended.

Sadly Pavement has now closed, thank you for the lovely nights we had in here and happy retirement. Pavement is reopening as a mexican pub/ restaurant, so I'll update when I've been in.

We were in the area and in urgent need of baby changing. Cafe owner was lovely and although we didn't eat, if the cafe vibe/ atmosphere/ friendliness of owner is anything to go by the food will be smashing too!

Very friendly and helpful service, top Matcha Latte and banana bread. Handy for Kelvinbridge subway. Unprepossessing appearance from outside, but highly recommended.

A friend and I popped in, initially for a coffee and a café but, on seeing the menu we stayed for a main meal. Although in a basement the place is airy with open plan kitchen and I liked the slightly industrial decor - especially the tables with old cards and stamps under Perspex. I had meaty baked eggs - sizzling hot and hearty, while staff kindly varied the avocado on toast to swap in salmon for my friend who cannot eat eggs. These were also "delicious". In fact the young staff were really pleasant - my friend has limited mobility and unfortunately has to be specific on her diet, but we were made very welcome and, although we left at closing, the accessible side door was happily opened for her. On our way out we bought cakes for our onwards journeys home - these were large, fresh and sticky.
